That does not mean though that we did not have stockrisers in the 2026 class though in North Dakota, in fact, it should significantly stick out to those college coaches out there, to show the value of who these stockrisers really are in this North Dakota 2026 class.
It did not take long at all to see Kolten flash as a defensive back from his sophomore tape. Kolton offer an excellent twitch of agility with his release and certainly shows off plenty of his work ethic, as he shows off a defensive that plays with high stamina on every rep. He shows off sound reactive instincts and I believe all those skillsets put together, Kolten shows his highest next-level ceiling at the corner position. Kolton is a 2026 athlete I would love to get at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine to get his testing numbers verified cause there is plenty to see on tape with what he does in the broad jump and L-Drill and certainly college coaches will be interested in the coming years as he plays way bigger than his measurables too.
Colton has excellent vision and just clings to the football like a mad-man with a great football IQ with his pursuit angles. His ability to recognize pre-snap where the ball is headed certainly shows consistency with his vision, as I see it constantly on his tape. It will surprise plenty of college coaches how elusive Colton is with his dexterity from side to side as he plays as a hybrid LB/DB but his instinct downhill is a force to be reckoned with. Colton moves up nine spots overall to #24 overall with the position change in our rankings to defensive back.
For my Stockrisers MVP in the North Dakota 2026 rankings, you have to look at Fargo Davies offensive linemen Gus Werremeyer Gus Werremeyer 6’1″ | 240 lbs | OL Fargo Davies | 2026 State ND , who went from our watch list to inside our top 20, as his film was fantastic in 2023. Gus has an extremely fiery first step off the snap and is one of the best offensive linemen in the Dakotas as far as his angle blocking goes as he shows to be extremely effective on a persistent basis. The efficency Gus has with his quick and efficent footwork with his pull-blocking shows off easily a offensive guard target that you go outside the measurables for as Gus by far is my favorite slightly undersized offensive linemen in the entire Dakotas.
Highlights
To those that have been with us since last summer, Yusuf first got on my radar at the NDSU prospect camp for his well-versed pass catching, but he has added to those skillsets I saw in the FargoDome at a rapid pace. He showed it off with his broad jumps (high 9’s) at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine in December, but the tape doesn’t lie that what we saw him dominate with his explosive footwork, and start to finish durability he has shown with spending a ton of time with developing his frame in the weight room. Yusuf is an example of a swiss-army knife all over the field but his agile instinct he shows off drew me to a future at running back especially with the body type he offers. I will say it early, Yusuf will be a scholarship-level target for sure.
Hunter’s persistent ability to press his defenders into the second level with balanced footwork and excellent leverage showed off early why he is our #1 overall prospect in the 2026 class. His efficency in pass-protection also flashed quickly, as Hunter shows off plenty of poise working his feet downwards as he shows off how tight he is able to get his defender inwards to lose their balance which leads him to pin them inside with his physicality at 6’6 290 pounds. The side to side twitch Hunter has with his combo-blocking is also hella effective as he shows off the instincts you certainly want at the Division I level out of your right tackle.
