Just yesterday, Kolten took home the North Dakota MaxPreps Player of the Year as he was the top back that was running wild between the tackles of the mauling Eagles offensive line in the 11AAA state championship game. What really stood out for me watching Kolten on the offensive side of the ball is how little space he needed to explode between the tackles. Getting to watch running backs all day, I don’t think there was one running back that needed a smaller window to explode thru than Kolten had last Friday. He tallied for 214 rushing yards on just 12 carries, leading the day in yards per carry against the pack of running backs in each of the four state championship games. If there is a 2026 prospect I expect to blow up in the coming months, Kolten is one of the top ones I see on my North Dakota list.

. I got to watch Kolten at camps this summer and on Friday night in Fargo and the consistency I see with his skillsets always match up. This young man is a smash-mouth defensive back that will punch you in the nose. In pass coverage, I love Kolten as a corner at the next-level as I remember him causing WRs fits at camp. I am very surprised that Kolten only has one offer at the moment from D3 powerhouse UW-Whitewater. He should add more this winter for sure!

of Fargo Davies. Kolten put together an impressive performance at the UND Flagship Camp this summer. Watching him this summer in pass coverage, intrigued me due to his physicality he brought on every rep that was thrown his way as he was constantly in the WR’s grill most of the afternoon and there’s some translation what you see on his junior tape and I would expect his senior season he brings more of it. Kolten plays at another speed when he gets downhill to stop the run as college coaches might want to get the live eval this fall like I did this summer. No offers yet for Kolten and that’s very surprising. Twitter

It did not take long at all to see Kolten flash as a defensive back from his sophomore tape. Kolton offer an excellent twitch of agility with his release and certainly shows off plenty of his work ethic, as he shows off a defensive that plays with high stamina on every rep. He shows off sound reactive instincts and I believe all those skillsets put together, Kolten shows his highest next-level ceiling at the corner position. Kolton is a 2026 athlete I would love to get at our Prep Redzone Dakotas Combine to get his testing numbers verified cause there is plenty to see on tape with what he does in the broad jump and L-Drill and certainly college coaches will be interested in the coming years as he plays way bigger than his measurables too.
