Stat Line: Three touchdowns
The Montana Tech running back commit for Central Cass was another standout in Week 8/9 out of the intriguing Squirrels offense. I would be remissed if I didn’t say that Colton has some of the better instincts I have seen amongst running backs in 11AA. Colton is shows off progressive vision upon hitting the second level as from my eyes, I think his open field vision in that area has sound upside to be shown off at the next-level. In Week 8, Colton showed off plenty of reps where he worked got chunks of extra yards as the Orediggers I think pulled a steal out of the 701.

I had Colton listed as a defensive back from our last 2026 update, but he certainly has proved how much of a sound athlete he is on the both sides of the ball, especially showing out this year at the running back position for the Squirrels. He has grown a bunch with his elusiveness at tailback showing improved change of direction and sudden lateral movement when he gets to the outside edges of the field. I have also seen growth from Colton in the vision department as you can tell the game has slowed down for him significantly in his senior year with how many big chunk plays he has been able to grab this early in the season. Growing in the weight room even more this offseason should certainly pave this young man a way for a great shot at the next-level like his brother Tyler who plays at Bemidji State. Twitter

Colton has excellent vision and just clings to the football like a mad-man with a great football IQ with his pursuit angles. His ability to recognize pre-snap where the ball is headed certainly shows consistency with his vision, as I see it constantly on his tape. It will surprise plenty of college coaches how elusive Colton is with his dexterity from side to side as he plays as a hybrid LB/DB but his instinct downhill is a force to be reckoned with. Colton moves up nine spots overall to #24 overall with the position change in our rankings to defensive back.
