The Prep Redzone 7v7 circuit made it’s way through Oklahoma this weekend as the second annual Sooner State Shootout took place in Broken Arrow. We had a great weekend of football and saw so many players at all levels making plays both days. Congratulations to our champions of the tournament! TheUNIT Platinum continued their dominant offseason by winning the 18U title. Sooner 7 took home the 15U and 14U championships and had a runner up finish in 12U while Level Up 7v7 would win that 12U crown but they also had teams make the 18U and 15U championship games.

TheUNIT Platinum finished off a perfect weekend with a comeback win in the title game. These weren’t the only standouts all weekend but these eight stood out in a big way every time we were watching.
Booker T Washington has a few standouts on this breakdown and that should come as a surprise to nobody. The Hornets have talent at the skill positions and on defense, 2025 defensive back Derreon Overstreet Derreon Overstreet 5’11” | DB Booker T Washington | 2025 OK had one of the more clutch performances during bracket play on Sunday. In the championship game, TheUNIT was holding on to their lead and Level Up was driving with time running out. Overstreet would stay right on his receiver’s hip on a crossing route and he slid in front and made a game-ending interception. Overstreet is going to be a name to watch moving forward. He made plenty of plays this weekend but it’s hard to argue anyone else made a bigger play with more on the line than Overstreet as the game went down the stretch.
Before the tournament, we put out multiple preview articles featuring some of the best players in the tourney. Owasso 2025 corner Eric Harris Eric Harris DB Owasso | 2025 State OK was on the DB Preview and after watching him in person for two days, he backed up the hype. Every time we were watching Harris this weekend, he was having a relatively easy tournament. Opponents did not challenge his side of the field or him directly very often. That’s an easy sign that a cornerback is an absolute problem for opponents. Whether it was intentional or not, Harris was never really challenged while we watched and he had a strong performance. We’re already looking forward to the next tournament to see more of the Owasso standout as he’s having an outstanding offseason.
Highlights
Broken Arrow 2026 quarterback Jeramiah Ssettimba Jeramiah Ssettimba 6’0″ | 165 lbs | QB Broken Arrow | 2026 State OK is the first of the two quarterbacks that played for TheUNIT Platinum this weekend. Ssettimba is a QB prospect that we’ve seen plenty of clips online but we haven’t gotten a chance to watch him up close and in person for an extended period. That changed this weekend and we were impressed by the variety of throws he could make. Ssettimba impressed us on Saturday during pool play when he was taking what the defense gave him and never tried to force things that weren’t open. Another thing that impressed us was his accuracy down the field. And on Saturday in particular, Ssettimba was on the move a lot, rolling left and right and that accuracy rarely dipped.
Highlights
We put the spotlight on Jenks 2026 standout KD Jones KD Jones 6’0″ | 170 lbs | ATH Jenks | 2026 State OK last week as one of the top prospects that would be competing in the Sooner State Shootout. He lived up to the hype and it began early on Saturday. Before participating in a track meet on Saturday afternoon, Jones absolutely tore it up on the defensive side of the ball. Jones is one of the top football players in the state and while he might be more known right now for his abilities on offense, Jones was shining at the cornerback position. In one of the games we watched from start to finish, he came up with a pair of interceptions and was dominant in the secondary. On Sunday, Jones matched that defensive dominance by making some big catches on offense and specifically in the championship game.
While Overstreet might have made the play of the game in the championship, his Booker T Washington teammate Keynan Farley Keynan Farley 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Booker T Washington | 2026 State OK took MVP honors after grabbing a pair of touchdowns. Farley, a 2026 wide receiver, is a name to watch moving forward because there isn’t much that he doesn’t have right now. We got a chance to see Farley absolutely dominate a 7v7 tournament about a month ago and he did it again in the championship game. He’s a match-up nightmare but he wasn’t just catching jump balls and beating opponents on leaping ability. He also scored a touchdown after making about three defenders miss after the catch and what could have been a 5-yard reception turned into a 30-yard touchdown. His stock is pointing up.
Booker T Washington 2026 quarterback Levi Brooks Levi Brooks 6’1″ | QB Booker T Washington | 2026 State OK joined Ssettimba in the backfield for the eventual 18U champions. Brooks and Ssettimba would rotate series and each brought something different to the table. While Ssettimba really impressed us on Saturday with his throwing on the run, Brooks was your prototypical pocket passer where he did the majority of his damage from the pocket. He took his drops, read the defense and fired darts all over the field. The thing that impressed us the most about Brooks on Sunday was his arm strength. In the championship game, both teams were going into a strong wind and Brooks’ passes were cutting right through the wind. The arm strength is not a concern as the ball went from Point A to Point B in a hurry.
For the second straight year, Booker T Washington 2026 standout Mykah Washington Mykah Washington 5’10” | ATH Booker T Washington | 2026 State OK emerged as a top performer at our Oklahoma tournament. Last year, Washington got on our radar for the first time by standing out in this tournament. This year, we were curious what he would do for an encore and he had a strong performance on the defensive side of the ball. Like Jones, Washington has the ability to impact either side of the ball in these 7v7 tournaments but this weekend, at least when we were watching, Washington was getting it done on the defensive side of the ball. The Hornet standout is a versatile athlete that has a very bright future. He came up big in the 18U championship game with pass breakups and nearly brought in an interception.
Lawton Eisenhower 2025 wide receiver Serri Sheridan Serri Sheridan 5’10” | WR Lawton Eisenhower | 2025 State OK was one of the more productive offensive players for TheUNIT Platinum on Saturday during pool play. Sheridan used his speed and precise route running to get open time after time. He had a really good game against 918 Elite on Saturday morning and that production continued throughout the weekend. Sheridan is a very intriguing 2025 prospect to watch moving forward. Because between his production and that route running we mentioned, Sheridan has the potential to be one of the top receivers in this class. Sheridan is still waiting for his recruitment to really pick up some momentum. That could happen this offseason and especially when we get into May and spring ball begins.
