Throughout the month of July and even into August, we are publishing well over 100 of the most in-depth team previews that you'll find anywhere to get you completely ready for the 2026 football season. This is something that began for us at PRZ-Oklahoma in 2021 and it continues to get bigger and better every single year. We're looking forward to diving deep into the top teams across the state in every class. From defending champions, to the top contenders and plenty of dark horses and other teams to know, we'll have complete coverage every single day. There will be multiple previews dropping every single day! In this post, we take a look at the Marlow Outlaws!

RELATED

- Marlow Video Preview With HC Matt Weber

Marlow Outlaws

Preseason Prep Redzone Ranking: #8 In Class 3A

Head Coach: Matt Weber - 9th Season - 75-24 Record At Marlow

2025 RESULTS (11-2 Record - Lost In Class 2A-1 Semifinals)

Aug. 29th - Beat North Rock Creek 41-6
Sept. 5th - Beat Chickasha 41-0
Sept. 11th - Beat Mustang JV (Forfeit)
Sept. 26th - Beat Lindsay 40-12
Oct. 3rd - Beat Lexington 62-0
Oct. 10th - Beat Crossings Christian 52-0
Oct. 16th - Lost To Washington 21-14
Oct. 24th - Beat Dickson 49-0
Oct. 31st - Beat Marietta 55-0
Nov. 6th - Beat Little Axe 42-0
1st Round - Beat Mount St. Mary 49-6
Quarterfinals - Beat Kingston 35-21
Semifinals - Lost To Jones 48-21

2025 Offensive Scoring Average: 41.8 Points Per Game
2025 Defensive Scoring Average: 9.5 Points Per Game

The Marlow Outlaws had another solid season in 2025 but they came up short on their ultimate goal of capturing another state championship. The Outlaws came into the season as a top ten team in Class 2A-1 and they certainly played like that throughout the 2025 football season. They were absolutely dominant in the first half of the season, jumping out to a 5-0 start. Their “closest” game during that stretch was a 28-point win over Lindsay in week four and they had three shutout victories. They were 5-0 heading into a week seven showdown with top-ranked Washington. And for the second straight year, they suffered a tough loss to the Warriors, falling 21-14. But they wouldn't lose again the rest of the regular season. In fact, their defense wouldn't give up a point over the last three weeks, finishing the year with an 8-1 record and they had plenty of momentum going into the playoffs. They would flex their muscles in the first round, beating Mount St. Mary 49-6 but they lost their starting quarterback to an injury. They still found a way to beat Kingston in the quarterfinals, setting up a semifinal showdown with unbeaten Jones. The season came to an end with a 48-21 loss to the eventual state champs. If Marlow was at full strength, could they have taken down the Longhorns? We'll never get the answer to that question. What we did see was Marlow making it to the semifinals for the third consecutive season but coming up short of the state championship game. Now, they prepare for a new challenge as we turn the page to the 2026 football season.

2026 OUTLOOK

The Outlaws enter the 2026 season once again a top ten team and a squad expecting to compete for the district title and ultimately a state title. But the mountain to climb just got a little higher as they have moved back up to Class 3A and there are quite a few teams in the top ten that plan on contending right away. But Marlow has the potential to be an impact team right away with some of the players and overall experience they bring back this season. And we'll throw this out there. Marlow is too low in our preseason rankings. After they came out on June 30th, we found out that they added one of the best 8-man players from last season to the roster this summer. They look like a top five team now. Offensively, they bring back seven starters from last year's team that averaged over 40 points per game. The conversation will start with the quarterback returning but they will need to find some new players to step up at running back. But whoever fills those shoes has a solid offensive line in front of him. On the other side of the ball, the defense brings back six starters from last year's team and that should be scary to Marlow's opponents when you consider how stingy they were on that side of the ball. They gave up under 10 points per game and finished the year with six shutouts as a unit. So with the majority of their starters back on both sides of the ball, it's not a crazy thought to think that the Outlaws will take a major step forward this season. But then you look at the schedule and specifically the district that the Outlaws landed in. They'll need to take that major step forward because the competition for the district title is going to be an absolute gauntlet. There are multiple district opponents that are also in the preseason top ten and the race for that district title is going to be fierce. It wouldn't surprise us if one of three or four teams go on to capture the district title here. Marlow will lean on their experience to compete in 2026. Not only do they bring the majority of their starters, Marlow's coaches believe this is one of the best senior groups that has come through recently. Several of these returning starters have two or three years of experience under their belt.

KEY LOSSES TO GRADUATION

Boomer Brooks - Wide Receiver
Hudson Morgan - Running Back/Linebacker (2025 All State Honorable Mention)

PLAYERS TO WATCH

2027 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='2253630' first='Austin' last='Harris'] is one of the leading returners from a defense that was completely dominant throughout the 2025 football season. Harris returns this fall as the second-leading tackler from last year's team. So needless to say, the expectations for him this fall are to take that top spot in 2026. We mentioned it earlier, but this was a Marlow defense that shut out half of their opponents last season and Harris certainly played a big role in that. Looking at this defense on paper, the front seven looks like it will be the strength and Harris is a big part of that. Look for him to be one of the leaders on the field and on the stat sheet.

We are fired up to see what 2027 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1716150' first='Brendan' last='Weber'] does for the Outlaws this season. At this time last year, Weber was stepping into a new role as QB1. But now, he's entering his second season as the starter and he'll definitely be hungry to get back on the field. He got banged up in the playoffs last season and that certainly left a sour taste in his mouth. But Marlow has had a really solid run at the quarterback position over the last several years and that's not a coincidence that they've also been a pretty consistent winner and contender. Weber is going to attempt to take the Outlaws back to the mountaintop for their first state title since 2021.

2027 offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='1716151' first='Clete' last='Gilbert'] might be the top football prospect on the Marlow roster as we head into this season. He's the younger brother of a D1 signee and he's picking up a lot of interest from college programs. Gilbert will be a three-year starter for the Outlaws and he's an offensive lineman that we really like in the state's 2027 class. He's incredibly physical on the line of scrimmage and he's also a terrific heavyweight wrestler. He had a very successful junior season and with Gilbert being the anchor and overall leader of this offensive line, we think the Outlaws are going to be just fine on that side of the ball. Gilbert will be one of the top OL in Class 3A.

(2025 All State Honorable Mention)

As we mentioned earlier in the preview, running back is a position where the Outlaws need to find a new name to step up in a major way. Marlow's coaches are looking to 2027 running back [player_tooltip player_id='2253633' first='Clint' last='Ladon'] to be that guy this season. Now, he's not going to be alone in the backfield and it wouldn't be surprising to see a few different guys get touches. But Ladon has a lot of experience and has played in some high-pressure situations. He's played all three years heading into this season and he's a very talented athlete. He's also a baseball prospect and a state champion on the wrestling mat. He could end up being one of the breakout stars in Class 3A this season.

All signs are pointing to 2027 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1026222' first='Jaxson' last='Murray'] being Weber's top threat in the passing game this season. You saw that kind of playmaking ability throughout the 2025 football season and there's no reason to think that he won't take another step forward this fall. Murray will be another example of a player that is in his third season as a starter for the Outlaws. He will also start for Marlow on defense and he'll be a dynamic playmaker for them in special teams as a return specialist. And like a few other Marlow standouts, Murray is also an outstanding baseball prospect and will be headed to college for that sport, but look out for him to have a big year in football.

We mentioned earlier how the Outlaws added a major 8-man star to the roster this summer. 2027 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1832582' first='Noah' last='Torrez'] is that guy and it will be fun to watch him with Marlow this fall. Not only is he transitioning to the 11-man game but the last time we watched him play, he was dominating the Class C state championship game. He had one of the best individual performances from any of the state title games last season. Adding him to both sides of the ball gives Marlow even more firepower to make a run in Class 3A. Marlow will be able to do a lot of things with him offensively and he's projected to be one of their safeties on the defensive side of the ball.

(2025 All State Honorable Mention)

MORE NAMES TO KNOW

Brennan Harris - 2027 Defensive Back
Damon Ruth - 2027 Linebacker
Kagun Mayes - 2027 Defensive Back
Hayden Sparks - 2027 Offensive/Defensive Lineman
[player_tooltip player_id='1837377' first='Jackson' last='Miller'] - 2027 Tight End
Jake Pettit - 2027 Offensive Lineman
Mantle Furr - 2027 Defensive Lineman

2026 SCHEDULE

Aug. 28th - AT Millwood
- There's no easing into the 2026 football season for Marlow as they head to Oklahoma City to face Millwood in week zero. These two met in a very memorable 2A-1 semifinal game in 2024. The Falcons prevailed in double overtime. Both programs have gone different ways as Millwood has dropped down to 2A-2 and Marlow is now in 3A.
Sept. 4th - Henrietta, TX.
- We don't have the entire Marlow football history in front of us but we think when they host Henrietta out of Texas in week one, it will be their first match-up against an out of state team in over two decades. And it might be the first ever. It will be a huge challenge as Henrietta has one of the more productive 2028 running backs in Texas.
Sept. 11th - Pauls Valley
- The Outlaws will wrap up their non-district slate at home in week two against Pauls Valley. These two teams were district opponents a couple years ago when Marlow was last in Class 3A. The Outlaws have had a lot of success against Pauls Valley historically. They haven't lost to the Panthers in well over a decade.
Sept. 25th - Mount St. Mary
- District play opens up in week four with arguably the biggest game on the district schedule. They'll host Mount St. Mary here and it's a rematch of last year's 2A-1 first round game that the Outlaws won 49-6. But the Rockets bring back just about everyone from last year's team and look like a serious contender this season.
Oct. 2nd - AT Purcell
- After three straight home games, the Outlaws will go back on the road in week five to square up with Purcell. These two teams haven't met in the regular season since 2019 when they were in the same district. There was a 2021 playoff meeting, where the Outlaws won 63-20. Overall, Marlow has won the last two and three of the last four.
Oct. 9th - McLoud
- Marlow hosts McLoud before they begin a stretch of the schedule where they have three road games in four weeks. They can't afford to overlook the Redskins as they prepare for the final four weeks. This is a new opponent on the schedule with the new district and class assignments and the Outlaws don't have any familiarity with them.
Oct. 15th - AT Kingfisher
- On a Fall Break Thursday night in week seven, the Outlaws go back on the road to face Kingfisher. This is a series that has been completely one-sided, in favor of the Yellowjackets. But they haven't played since the 2019 playoffs and just a handful of times in the last ten years. But Kingfisher is 3-0 during that stretch.
Oct. 23rd - AT Oklahoma Christian School
- Both Marlow and Oklahoma Christian School have moved up to 3A from 2A-1 but it's interesting that this will be their first meeting in recent memory. And what a first meeting it could end up being. Both teams have been contenders in their respective districts over the last few seasons and that will be the same when they kick off 2026.
Oct. 30th - North Rock Creek
- The Outlaws will host North Rock Creek in their final home game of the regular season in week nine. With Marlow's move from 2A-1 to 3A, this game goes from being a non-district match-up to one with playoff implications. These two have met in the season opener in each of the last two years. Marlow lost in 2024 but won 41-6 last year.
Nov. 6th - AT Plainview
- The regular season ends with a major road game for the Outlaws as they'll face Plainview in week ten. Both teams are top ten squads heading into the season. And if things fall a certain way, this could be a week ten clash for the district title. It will definitely have playoff implications and Plainview has had an edge over Marlow in the last ten years.

NOTABLE

Head coach Matt Weber is in his second stint as Marlow's head coach. He led the Outlaws from 2004-2007 before being hired at Ada. He also spent three years at Pauls Valley and in 2018, he returned to Marlow. In his 21 seasons as a head coach, Weber has won 171 games. More than half of them have been between his two stints at Marlow. There's no doubt that Marlow has been good to Weber and Weber has been good to Marlow. Last season, he hit a pretty special milestone. He won his 100th game as Marlow's head coach. He enters this season with 105 wins with the Outlaws in 12 total seasons as their head coach. In 2021, he helped guide the Outlaws to their first state championship in nearly six decades. And as we've mentioned, they've made three straight trips to the semifinals and they are hungry for more in 2026. Weber has been a big part of Marlow's sustained success over the last decade.
