Continue ReadingUnderwood plays linebacker and quarterback for the Falcons. At the college level I project him to a box safety. He reads quickly and when he fires, he’s explosive and he’s downhill. He has the speed and motor to rundown plays from behind. At quarterback he’s a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He’s sudden and has the juke moves in the open field to make guys miss and the speed to take it all the way. He has the vision to find creases and running lanes to make plays. I’m interested to see how Underwood continues to develop physically because he’s a high-end athlete. He should test well at camps this summer and have a chance to start to get college attention.
Highlights
After playing his first two high school seasons for Colerain, Burton has transferred to Winton Woods. I expect Burton to become an immediate offensive target for the Warriors. At 6’4 he’s a long and athletic receiver. As a route runner Burton is a fluid runner who makes strong and decisive breaks. Where, Burton really excels is high pointing the ball. He’s a natural hands catcher who’s comfortable catching the ball away from his body. With his hands and length, he provides a huge catch radius for his quarterback. When the ball is in the air, he has good timing in his jumps and is able to make the athletic grab. Burton has gotten D1 interest, but I expect that attention to turn into offers this summer and fall.
O’Bryant is a versatile receiver for the Princeton Vikings offense. He’s used both as an inside and outside receiver. I project him as a slot receiver at the college level. He’s a strong route runner who feels leverage well and understands how to get open. Once he has the ball in his hands, he has the suddenness and athleticism to make plays. Ryan is also used as a play maker on bubble screens. This offseason O’Bryant picked up his first D1 offer from the University of Toledo. As he participates in summer camps she should continue to add offers.
Highlights
Brown is a defensive back who started picking up D1 offers off the heels of his freshman season. As a sophomore, he’s continuing to put out good film and performances in offseason showcases. He won MVP’s at both the Best of the Midwest and Cleveland Browns showcases over the last month. Kindall is a rangy free safety who is able to cover a lot of ground quickly and make plays all over the field. He’s comfortable both in centerfield and he also lining up on the line of scrimmage and playing man coverage. He’s also explosive and times his blitzes well. Brown has several D1 G5 offers in his pocket. I expect him to start to garner P4 interests this offseason as he performs well at camps.
Fryzel was a starter on offense for the back-to-back state champion Central Catholic Irish. At 6’3 he’s a long striding outside receiver. Preston has a good feel for how he runs his routes and sets up defensive backs to create space. Defenders typically give him some cushion respecting his long speed. Fryzel counters by running with an aiming point between the defender’s numbers getting him on his heels before making his inside or outside breaks. As he continues to fill out and get stronger, he’ll add a strength and physicality element to his game that will make him very tough for defenses to handle. He could eventually end up growing into a hybrid tight end. In January Preston picked up his first D1 offer from Kent State. He should continue to stack offers.
Highlights
Washington is an explosive 2 sport athlete. He just added a district player of the year in basketball to his list of awards. At 6’4 he has a thin but athletic frame with the room to add good weight. He’s a threat to stretch the field vertically. With his background where I think Washington excels is in his ability to win 50/50 balls. He has a great feel for shielding defenders and going up and getting it much as a basketball player would going for a rebound. You can see his bounce and athleticism on the basketball court with his various array of in game dunks. It would seem that Washington would lean towards the basketball route, but if he decided to play football, he definitely has D1 ability.
