Continue ReadingColgate, one of the many high academic FCS schools in the northeast is not only a home state school but one that has continuously taken talent from all around New York State. Colgate is a consistent threat in the Patriot League last wining the league outright in 2018 and have multiple competitive and top three finishes since. Winning 6 of their last 7 games in 2023 Colgate continued their momentum into signing day in December when it inked four players who played their HS ball in New York and a 5th who after a strong career in New York did a post-graduate year in Connecticut. This article will include both scholarship and walk-on players because not only are both integral to the success of college football programs but at the FCS level with a lower scholarship limit, walk-on prospects are recruited just as hard and often receive playing time.
Top Ranked Recruit
Bobby Galindo Bobby Galindo 6’3″ | 295 lbs | OL South Side | 2024 State NY has been a consistent name at or near the top of the PrepRedzone New York offensive line rankings for the better part of two full seasons. Galindo is a powerful interior offensive lineman who is a mauler and a physical lead blocker. Galindo has some of the strongest hands in New York and his ability to use his hands violently and throw defenders around are showcased throughout his film. Not many have a stronger initial punch than Galindo and he has the play style that translates to the next level.

Rest of the Class
Adam DeSantis Adam DeSantis 6’3″ | 240 lbs | DL Maine-Endwell | 2024 State NY has been one of the most dominant defensive lineman in New York for multiple seasons. DeSantis has a quick first step and shows D1 level burst out of his stance and upfield. DeSantis plays with good hands and is consistent in his ability to shed, but what you like most on tape is how he finishes plays with violent physical tackling. DeSantis showcases throughout his film that he has the size, strength, and quickness to be an effective defensive end in the Patriot League.
Harrison Brown Harrison Brown 6’5″ | 290 lbs | OL Archbishop Stepinac | 2024 State NY took a huge step forward in his game as a Senior at Archbishop Stepinac and manned the left tackle spot for an offense that consistently threw the ball. Brown has the frame to continue playing tackle for Colgate and when you watch the tape you see a prospect who has elite length and quick feet. Not many at 6’5 300lbs move like Brown does and his best traits are the ones that D1 teams covet.
Highlights
Evan Floss Evan Floss 6’2″ | 175 lbs | WR Starpoint | 2024 State NY out of Starpoint is a WR prospect who may not wow you with elite speed or strength as a runner but he is one of the smoothest route runners in the state and his overall feel for space. Floss can play from the slot or outside and has good hands consistently catching away from his body. Floss is a quality addition to Colgate and can develop into a strong versatile WR prospect for the Raiders.
I am including Ryan Murphy in this article even though he is technically coming from St. Thomas More in Connecticut. Before his Post-Grad year, Murphy was a dominant OT for St. Anthony’s and helped lead them to a Catholic league state championship as a Senior. While I had a FCS grade on Murphy coming out of High School Murphy decided to do a Post-Grad year to help his recruiting and it paid off as he showed the dominant strength and power for St. Thomas More against a plethora of tough opponents. The St. Anthony’s Tackle finds his home back in New York and will be a versatile OL piece for the Raiders.
