Of course, none of these teams can be successful without decent quarterback play. This series of articles will quickly outline every known starting Quarterback in the OK Conference and River City Alliance!
’26 | Jeffrey Fogelsonger | Grandville | Hudl
Last season, Jeffrey was QB1 for Grandville’s JV squad. With Cash Ruff Cash Ruff 6'4" | 205 lbs | ATH Grandville | 2024 State MI graduating, I assume Jeffrey will be QB1 for Grandville Varsity. It’s likely that Jeffrey won’t take on a massive amount of carries next season, especially with the Running Back talent at Grandville. I expect him to be a solid Wing-T Quarterback who can hand the ball off, run when he’s called upon, and make the occasional pass.
’25 | Connor Knapp | West Ottawa | Hudl
I was impressed with what I saw from Connor at the Hope 7 on 7 last summer, and he shows similarly great highlights in his film. I love how quickly Connor gets the ball out. He takes his drop, locks onto his read, and he’s able to throw to just apart any part of the field. There’s also a few tight windows he’s threaded the needle with. Connor is a QB with a ton of potential, and as long as he’s a good kid who’s consistently improving, then he’ll get collegiate opportunities.
’25 | Griffin Baker | Hudsonville | Hudl
Griffin is a raw QB prospect who will likely start for another year in 2024. His size is great, he can evade the pocket, and deliver a strike on the run. He’s not yet a college prospect in my eyes, but one offseason could change everything.
’26 | Brayden Daniels Brayden Daniels 5'11" | 195 lbs | QB Rockford | 2026 State MI | Rockford | Hudl
Being the starting QB for Rockford is no small feat; and it seem like the job is Brayden’s to lose for the next two seasons. The below highlights show that he can perform at high level against the best teams in the state. I don’t know how to explain that other than that he sees the field very well. He plays with poise, reads the field well, and isn’t afraid to make throws to every part of the field. I’ve had the pleasure of watching a ton of film on Rockford last 3 QBs, and I think Brayden has a chance to be on par with the best.
’25 | Amari Powell | Holland | Hudl
Amari is an athletic, playmaking QB who also has some flashes of throwing the football. First and foremost, I love Amari’s athleticism, and he uses it to his advantage. He’s able to make plays with his feet, evade pressure, and find running lanes. His throwing isn’t bad either, as he has a few highlights where he demonstrates some touch on his throws. He still has a long way to go in order to be a college prospect as a quarterback, but as it stands now, he could have an amazing 2024 season for Holland.
’25 | Keion Beasley | Godwin Heights | Hudl
Keion is definitely a raw prospect, but I’m looking forward to seeing how he does in the new look OK-Silver. A lot of the teams in the silver aren’t used to having to defend against the pass. So, Keion and Godwin Heights could take advantage. He’s a good athlete, can scramble, and make some off-platform throws. If he can work his tail off this offseason, we could see a significant jump in his game.
’26 | Grady Augustyn Grady Augustyn 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB West Catholic | 2026 State MI | West Catholic | Hudl
It’s difficult to imagine Grady struggling a lot as West Catholic’s new Varsity Starter, considering the surrounding talent and coaching staff. His highlights show poise in the pocket, patience, and a big arm. He knows the basics of reading a defense, and he’s good at throwing to his first read. He has a tendency to underthrow deep balls, which is something he absolutely has to correct at the varsity level. I’m excited to see what Grady is able to do with a West Catholic program that expects greatness.
’25 | Reid Grimmer Reid Grimmer 6'4" | 175 lbs | QB Spring Lake | 2025 State MI | Spring Lake | Hudl
(for some reason, hudl wouldn’t let me embed his highlights)
Reid is one of the best Quarterbacks in all of West Michigan, and he’s going to earn some offers soon. As a pro-style QB, he sports above average processing ability, accuracy, footwork, and poise. I don’t think any of his traits are elite per say, but he’s a well-rounded good player who is only going to keep getting better with time. Reid always seems under control, plays fast, and is a phenomenal playmaker. I’m looking forward to watching Reid again in person, and I think he has the potential to be a great GLIAC prospect if he’s able to put everything together.
’25 | Beau Harris Beau Harris 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Coopersville | 2025 State MI | Coopersville | Hudl
Beau just had himself a solid statistical season against an average schedule. Last year I was able to watch Beau in some 7on7 action, and he had his ups and downs. His Junior highlights show a bit of improvement and several great flashes. First off, he’s a pro-style quarterback through and through. Beau can run the ball when he’s called upon to do so, but he’s a passer first. Beau sports good arm talent with, at times, great accuracy. His best throws are amazing, but he’s inconsistent in his accuracy. He does his best work when he’s able to hit his first read for a quick completion.
’27 | Grayson Fellows Grayson Fellows 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Kenowa Hills | 2027 State MI | Kenowa Hills | Hudl
It’s been a few years of anticipation, but 2024 should be the year where Grayson shows off as a full-time varsity starter. I know he has the arm talent. I know he can be accurate. I know he can improvise with his legs and throw on the run. He’s a competitor and a playmaker, and he’s just got to put it all together next season. The River Cities Alliance doesn’t look like a conference that’s going to have amazing pass defense, so I think Grayson will succeed. I’m confident he’ll perform well, but I am not yet sure what his true potential is.
’25 | Noah Long | Greenville | Hudl
Greenville showed a lot of improvement last season, and I think a lot of that success can be attributed to Noah’s QB play. I love his improvisational skills and his ability to throw outside of structure. He’s also able to rifle balls into the short and intermediate parts of the field with impressive throw power. He’s also a tenacious, high-effort runner in the open field. His passing fundamentals could use a lot of work, but as it stands, he’s a rock-solid high school quarterback.
