After breaking down some intriguing 2026 quarterback talent, here’s my list of five under the radar 2025s in Kentucky to watch for next season.
In the first place spot on my list is Hunter Holloway Hunter Holloway 6’0″ | 145 lbs | QB KY , an athlete at Logan County High School. In addition to excellent footwork and versatility down the stretch, what makes Holloway so explosive is his ability to haul in the short pass from along the edge and utilize his breakaway speed to easily march into enemy territory. I also like Holloway’s ability to be durable under pressure, proving he can break tackles on the run.
I am additionally impressed with Treston Kay Treston Kay 5’8″ | 155 lbs | ATH Hopkinsville | 2025 KY , an athlete at Hopkinsville High School. What impresses me the most about Kay is his deceptive footwork, his ability to get open down the stretch and his ability to quickly create seperation off the snap. I also like how Kay can maneuver the field under pressure, proving he can breach the pocket, juke out the defense and shake tackles on his way to the house.
Highlights
Zarionte Howard
Zarionte Howard
Claiming the number three spot on my list is Zarionte Howard, a quarterback at Warren Central High School. Howard stands out with his arm strength and pin-point accuracy, showcasing his ability to launch the deep ball all throughout last season. I also like how Howard utilizes his movement to quickly find an open receiver for the short pass. Howard also impresses with his composure under heavy pressure.
David Owens
David Owens
Another high-level prospect to keep an eye on is David Owens, a defensive lineman at Russellville High School. On top of his ability to apply pressure, what I like about Owens is his size and explosiveness at the line, using his strength and physical edge to adapt to his opponent and create chaos in the pocket. I also like how Owens can spot the handoff, quickly catch the rush and force the occasional loose ball.
Kaden McKnight
Kaden McKnight
Coming in at number five on my list is Kaden McKnight, a defensive back at Owensboro High School. McKnight stands out with his ability to lock down the backfield, using bursts of speed to shut down the running game from along the edge. McKnight also impresses with his ability to consistently be disruptive in the backfield, proving he can get in front of the running back and limit space.
