Throughout the month of February, Prep Redzone Oklahoma is updating our prospect rankings for each class. And for the state’s 2026 class, we’ve updated the rankings and expanded it to 100 prospects. On Monday, we released the 2026 Top 100 and throughout the week, we’ll be putting the spotlight on different players and position groups. It was only a matter of time before Stillwater defensive lineman Nehemiah Kolone Nehemiah Kolone 6’4″ | 245 lbs | DL Stillwater | 2026 State OK got on college radars. Kolone picked up his first offer from hometown Oklahoma State in the last month and that should be just the start of it for this disruptive playmaker. Kolone was very impressive when we saw him in person last season and it ended up being a breakout season for the sophomore. Kolone was a player that we had high hopes for heading into the 2023 season but he was still unproven on the varsity level. That’s no longer the case and he has the potential to be one of the top edge rushers in the state’s 2026 class by the time it’s all over.
Highlights
We’ve written about several standouts from Booker T Washington over the last few weeks because they have some serious talent in the 2026 and 2027 classes. Offensive lineman Brooks Barron Brooks Barron 6’4″ | OL Owasso | 2026 State OK is one of those 2026 standouts that should be on more radars moving forward. Barron has been on our radar since his freshman season and nothing has changed from the fall of 2022. Each time we see Barron in person or on film, he looks like an interior lineman at the next level. The Hornets have been experienced along the offensive line over the last several seasons but going into this fall, Barron will be the veteran of the group.
NOAH offensive lineman Jude Ballinger Jude Ballinger 6’4″ | OL NOAH | 2026 State OK is certainly one of the top prospects at his position right now. We’ve written about Ballinger a few times when we’ve had a ranking update and we usually echo the same theme. He was one of the more impressive OL prospects we saw in the last year. Ballinger already looks the part physically and has a good skill set to go along with it. Ballinger has certainly benefitted from being on the same team with some very talented defensive linemen over the last two years. Ballinger absolutely mauls you at the point of attack and we’re looking forward to seeing how many positions he ends up playing on offense.
Heavener defensive lineman Jerami Casteel Jerami Casteel 6’4″ | 280 lbs | DL Heavener | 2026 State OK is definitely a prospect that we’ll be keeping an eye on as he moves into his junior season. Casteel put some impressive tape out there as a freshman and then backed it up with a strong sophomore season. Casteel is a monster coming off the edge and is another example of a small school prospect that deserves more attention. While the recruitment of small school kids is getting better, the prospects in the major metro areas still have a definite advantage. But Casteel is a prospect on the defensive line that deserves some recognition and he seems to be just scratching the surface on what he’ll be.
