is the prospect on this breakdown that we don’t know as much about compared to the other six. Casteel has really good film, has a strong frame but we still haven’t seen him in person. So we can just go off what we’ve seen on film and he absolutely terrorizes the line of scrimmage while coming off the edge. The combination of speed, athleticism and power makes him very tough to slow down for an opposing offensive lineman. And with Casteel coming off the edge, he’s a one on one nightmare and offensive tackles just have to do the best they can. Casteel is flying under the radar but he’s definitely a name that needs more attention moving forward.

is definitely a prospect that we’ll be keeping an eye on as he moves into his junior season. Casteel put some impressive tape out there as a freshman and then backed it up with a strong sophomore season. Casteel is a monster coming off the edge and is another example of a small school prospect that deserves more attention. While the recruitment of small school kids is getting better, the prospects in the major metro areas still have a definite advantage. But Casteel is a prospect on the defensive line that deserves some recognition and he seems to be just scratching the surface on what he’ll be.

and he’s certainly flying under the radar across the state more than some of the other prospects on this breakdown. But when we first saw Casteel back in July on film from his freshman season, it was pretty clear that he belonged in this latest ranking update. Like the other players on this breakdown, Casteel already looks the part physically. And it’s hard not to be impressed by his film this year as a sophomore. Even when Casteel isn’t making the play himself, he’s having an impact on it. He’s either pushing the offensive lineman back into the backfield or opening a clear lane for someone else.
