Top Showcase QB’s
It was a breakout day for this Memphis area quarterback where Tucker impressed many in attendance, including some college coaches, who informed me that his future could be bright on the next level. Tucker checked in at 6 ‘2 almost 200 pounds and he looks every bit of it. He also has a strong right arm along with some of the best ball placement and accuracy seen out of all quarterbacks at camp. The Saints rising junior showed off tons of tools and upside that translate well to the college game. Tucker has a big off-season ahead as he works towards becoming the Saints starting quarterback, where college coaches will be waiting to see his growth and progression.

One of the more physically well fit quarterbacks at the PRZTN Winter Showcase, Evitts had a solid day working with and in front of college coaches where he landed on the All-Camp 2nd team after his consistent performance in Murfreesboro. The best we saw from Evitts was late in camp during the QB to receiver drills where he displayed arm strength, ball placement and mobile feet. The Indians rising senior also tested pretty well with some numbers that I know can be improved upon throughout the off-season. What Evitts brings to the table is a combination of size, arm talent and pocket mobility along with high football intelligence that will only get better over time. Keep an eye on this Chattanooga area signal caller as I feel his stock will only grow as more coaches dive deeper into his potential.

Coming out of camp as the most athletic quarterback when it came to testing, Cox had a stellar offseason debut at the Winter Showcase where he excelled in multiple areas while taking his recruiting stock to another level. This guy doesn’t know how good he can be. Cox has a big arm with plenty of zip and the size to stand strong in the pocket to deliver the ball. He showed those traits and then some last Saturday in Murfreesboro along with some serious athleticism that could translate to other positions if quarterback doesn’t work out. Cox is a big boy with a lot of athletic upside and potential that may finally be starting to come into his own.

I really like what I’m starting to see out of this Green Wave rising junior. I have watched Stroup perform in camps over the last three years and last Saturday was some of the best work yet I’ve seen out of him. Standing a legit 6 ‘4 with a strong right arm, Stroup put his size and strength on full display during the Winter Showcase where he showed off smooth mechanics and accuracy along with improved mobility. The Green Wave signal caller has shedded some pounds and started to form his body in the right way, which I believe has increased his athleticism. From a pure passing standpoint, Stroup has some of the best throwing abilities in the state, so expect to hear more and more about this Mid-Tennessee product moving forward.

A multi talented prospect with the ball in his hands, Bones came to the Winter Showcase in Murfreesboro to compete and build his stock and I believe he did that. The Cougars junior quarterback had a consistent performance throughout the day from his testing, positional work and his passing where he showed solid upside. What stood out the most to coaches and scouts at camp was his ability to get the ball out on time and place accurately along with taking to coaching very well. Bones is slight in weight at the moment and still growing into his body but he provides a dual threat skill set to his position that many college coaches could be intrigued with.

The future quarterback for the Wildcats over the next two years, Stansberry started his offseason in a good way last weekend where he showed some of the better mechanics in attendance along with a quick release that will only get faster over time. This East Tennessee rising junior competed very well alongside other talented quarterbacks and held his own. Where Stansberry shined the most during camp was his positional work where he showed athletic movements and an arm that can push the ball down field. He will need to continue packing on more weight and adding power to his right arm but Stansberry displayed nice potential to pay attention to over the coming years.

The possibility of a starting role is on the line this Fall for Porter and by all indications at last weekend’s Winter Showcase, the Tornadoes rising junior looks poised to become the guy under center for Alcoa. The 6’1 pocket passer showed excellent potential and upside last Saturday, especially with his arm where he displayed good strength and accuracy throughout the duration of camp. Besides his arm, Porter also showed off good body movements and mobility in and out of the pocket, providing a dual threat aspect to his game. The mechanics on Porter are solid and he has a nice body to form and add weight too as he continues to grow and mature, so I see potential here with this East TN quarterback and someone to follow over the next few years.

Burroughs is the future of the Hawks football program and he started off his junior off-season in a good way with his performance last weekend at the PRZTN Winter Showcase. The 6 ‘2 passer with a great body and mechanics, Burroughs displayed a variety of skills that translate well to the college game, especially his accuracy and timing. Among a strong crop of quarterbacks at camp, Burroughs held his own, showing maturity, the ability to listen to directions as well as potential that I see shining bright this coming Fall season. Burroughs has much to continue to learn but the upside is certainly there to develop into a potential FCS level recruit.
