The possibility of a starting role is on the line this Fall for Porter and by all indications at last weekend’s Winter Showcase, the Tornadoes rising junior looks poised to become the guy under center for Alcoa. The 6’1 pocket passer showed excellent potential and upside last Saturday, especially with his arm where he displayed good strength and accuracy throughout the duration of camp. Besides his arm, Porter also showed off good body movements and mobility in and out of the pocket, providing a dual threat aspect to his game. The mechanics on Porter are solid and he has a nice body to form and add weight too as he continues to grow and mature, so I see potential here with this East TN quarterback and someone to follow over the next few years.
