There were a ton of talented players from Knoxville to Chattanooga, and Nashville to Memphis, making the selection process a difficult one for Tennessee Future Stars Director Josh Jones and his team. Nonetheless, the rosters have been set and the clash with the Kentucky Future Stars is on in June. Here’s a look at the Running Backs selected..
Hensley is one of, if not “the” best all around back coming out of the middle of the state. He has big play ability due to his explosive speed and vision. Not the tallest back on the roster, but built proportioned with a gritty attitude to run through or around defenders who want to test his gangster. I can see him getting a bone thrown to him by returning kick offs so he can show off his agility as well. At the end of the day, just get him the ball please!
Highlights
Rogers is primed to carry the load. Great size, balance, and power. He owns a natural running style that finds the weakness in defenses. Physical one play, shifty the next, I love the maturity Rogers runs with. And when you need to make a statement in short yardage, coach better have this kid on his hip come game time. Not much this kid cannot do. Will be a great change up in this loaded backfield. I had him ranked in my top 5 in the whole state.
Highlights
Reed is a special breed. Have we forgotten his MVP honors on the defensive side of the ball in this game a couple years ago? Well I haven’t, and it’s a testament to this kids overall talent as a football player. As a ball carrier, he is patient and has a good feel for inside runs. This young man is fearless and plays with low pads. Don’t be shocked seeing him protect the quarterback or sneaking out for a few passes in the flat to keep his counterparts honest.
Hammock will be the only player selected from Morgan County on the sidelines this year. You want this kid walking off the bus first. Dream physique at this age with the toughness to go with it. Look for him to make his mark moving piles and wearing down anyone brave enough to try and take his lunch. A consistent leader. coming off an undefeated season with a Championship under his belt. At the end of this competition you will remember the name.
