The Cougars junior quarterback had a consistent performance throughout the day from his testing, positional work and his passing where he showed solid upside. What stood out the most to coaches and scouts at camp was his ability to get the ball out on time and place accurately along with taking to coaching very well. Bones is slight in weight at the moment and still growing into his body but he provides a dual threat skill set to his position that many college coaches could be intrigued with.

In addition to great size and a versatile edge, Bones stood out with his athleticism during the warm-up drills at the beginning of the showcase, impressing with his speed and execution. Bones was also one of the more conditioned gunslingers, proving he can be decisive and complete challenging deep passes despite heavy coverage on the receiver. Another aspect of Bones that stands out is his ability to operate in the pocket and make quick passes off the snap.
