DL
It was a historic season for the sensational lineman, as he completed the clean sweep of the three major suffolk county football awards. He was named lineman of the year, defensive player of the year and the county’s overall top player as he was the first lineman to win the Hansen award in 38 years. Regis took over almost every game he played in on both sides of the football. He had 101 tackles and 11 sacks on the season. He will go down as one of the most dominant defensive players in Suffolk County history.
Highlights
Without a doubt one of the top pass rushers on all of Long Island. Appolon has the combination of size and quickness which helped him live in opponents backfields. He was named All County and was a nominee for the Zellener award (top lineman in Suffolk County). He recently made his commitment to play division one football at Wagner.
It was another dominant season for the junior lineman, as he established himself in the conversation with the other top defensive lineman in New York. Ali registered over 90 tackles, 14 TFL’s and 7 sacks. He was quick and powerful which allowed him to be very successful against good opposition in league play.

Malverne had one of the best defenses in Nassau County and it all started with the play of Hugh Wilkerson. The ferocious linebacker was the top defensive player in the entire conference and he was stopping the run as good as anybody in the county. He has a high motor and was a great tackler all season long. He is the biggest linebacker on this list, and he moved very well at 230 pounds.

One the leaders of this Ward Melville team, Kramer was absolutely everywhere during his senior campaign. As a linebacker he came away with 69 tackles, 11 TFL’s, 5 sacks and 4 interceptions. He was exceptional in coverage and was a very hard hitter. He also ran for over 700 yards, as he played a big role on offense for a Patriots team that made the county semifinals.
Ryan Wieczorek
Ryan Wieczorek
The heart and soul of the Massapequa defense. Wieczorek won the Piner award which is given to Nassau County’s top linebacker. He was dominant during the playoffs, which is where he played his best football. Wieczorek was also a force at tight end, as he put together a big offensive game in the Nassau County title victory.
Piropato was the winner of the Collotta award which is given to Suffolk County’s top linebacker. In a division where it featured so many fantastic running backs, he was a monster at stopping the run. He collected over 100 tackles, 9 TFL’s and 3 sacks. He was also a big contributor on offense, as Piropato was a great blocker at fullback and also ran for over 500 yards.

DB’s
One of the best all around athletes in the state. Lovinsky was a game changer on both sides of the ball for Deer Park. He was a lockdown cover corner for the Falcons, and was able to stay with any receiver he faced. He made plenty of plays on the ball and Lovinsky helped Deer Park make the playoffs. He also had major contributions on offense and special teams. His film speaks for itself, he has the “it” factor on the field.
Highlights
Another all around athlete who was one of the top overall players in the state. Gordon won the MVP award in a talented Nassau Conference 1. He was one of the best tackling defensive backs, and he played everywhere for the Red Devils. Gordon hit very hard and was also electrifying when he got to carry the football.
Highlights
He was the leader of the Garden City defense for a second straight season. He had the ability to play linebacker or defensive back, and he made a ton of tackles for a defense that allowed just over 3 points per game en route to their 3rd straight Long Island title. Considine also ran for over 800 yards and 11 touchdowns on offense.
The East Islip front seven got a lot of praise, but the secondary was very good and it was led by Mcintee. The Syracuse lacrosse commit was their number one cornerback and he erased the opposition’s top receiver. He was athletic enough to be left out on an island, and he thrived against very good passing teams. Mcintee was also one of the island’s top receivers.
All Purpose
The star from Sayville dominated for a third straight season. He had a fantastic year at running back, rushing for over 1,500 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was also the anchor of the Golden Flashes defense, as he came away with 60+ tackles and 6 interceptions. Messina’s athleticism is some of the best you’ll find on Long Island.
Despite only playing half the season, I had to put Josiah Brown Josiah Brown 5’11” | 175 lbs | WR Malverne | 2024 State NY on this list. He transferred into Malverne and was immediately the top player in all of conference 4. He was the fastest player on all of Long Island and dominated every game he participated in. He was a game changing defensive back and will be playing football at Penn State next season.
Highlights
The junior from Commack put himself on the map this past season. He was a ball hawk at the safety position, as he led Long Island with 7 interceptions. His hands and instincts were phenomenal, and that translated very well to the other side of the ball. He collected 45 receptions for 793 yards and 10 touchdowns. Riggs proved to be one of the top 2025 prospects on Long Island.

The Dartmouth lacrosse commit was an all around monster for a Manhasset team that made the Nassau semifinals. He ran for over 1,000 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also was a hard hitting linebacker, he had the size and speed to give the opposition nightmares whenever he was on the field.
