Eagle II Wins Big, Stepinac Gets Started Right

First we saw PSAL Eagle Academy II welcome Friendship Collegiate for an out of state competitive matchup. Next we saw CHSFL opponents Fordham Prep and Archbishop Stepinac go at it in a AA Vs AAA matchup. In this article we will look at some notes I accumulated from both games over the weekend.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Wrona got the start for the Crusaders and in his NY football debut looked the part. He brought consistency and confidence to this Crusader Offense, and I loved watching him work. Wrona showed good accuracy and good strength on his throws, and connected deep on multiple throws. A consistent and clean day for Wrona which was a good first impression into CHSFL football for the Senior.     There were questions whether Pierre would be able to compete at the CHSFL level after coming from Section One. Those went out the window easily. The talented transfer came in and dominated rushing for over 100 yards in his Stepinac Debut. I liked his footwork, and his ability to stay grounded and pound through holes on the line with balanced runs throughout the day. In his debut the Pierre had an impressive showing for the scouts.     [player_tooltip player_id='1087160' first='Nicholas' last='Harrison'] was named the offensive player of the game in my eyes, and for good reason. The 2028 WR has a bright future and it was on full display showcasing an elite speed with his routes and crisp cuts. With the ball in his hands, he took off flying, and showed good balance while evading defenders. Harrison is a playmaker I would expect to have a big season, and become a focal point of the offense.     Dipasquale made the switch from Archbishop Stepinac to Fordham Prep for the new season. The former Crusader picked up a majority of the backfield snaps. In his first quality varsity action, he had a solid day tossing the ball. I liked his mechanics and his ability to read a defense has improved. While the stat sheet doesn't show much, Dipasquale had a good day at QB for the Rams.     McKay is one of the elite prospects Fordham Prep brought back from last season. The 2027 RB showed elite 4.5-4.4 speed through verified testing combines, and elite footwork to make sharp cuts and carve up field. He showed just that this past week against Stepinac, making defenders miss and finding the hole for a score on offense. I expect McKay to lead the Rams offense this season, and he had a good start to the year.    <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />   <h2 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Eagle Academy II</h2>    Caratelli was the main signal caller for the Eagle Academy II squad and he did not disappoint. Caratelli made quick strikes and accurate decisions throughout the whole evening and managed to march down the field. He threw pretty passes, showing good accuracy and quality mechanics. I was impressed by Caratelli to start the season.     Schulters is by far one of the most talented players in the state. He easily has unlimited potential. Schulters is one of, if not the shiftiest players in the entire state. His ability to make players miss and break free of tackles is elite. Schulters is a player who has elite speed and can make you look silly on the defensive side of the ball with his skills. Once again he made Friendship Academy look foolish on the defensive side of the ball.     McCracken is a Wide Out who I enjoy watching with the ball in his hands. The 2027 Prospect is a crisp and elite route runner, and showcases elite speed as a pass catcher. He showed multiple routes and the ability to gain elite separation on his routes and break free for big gains throughout the evening.     Lindor was a player I was waiting for to have a Touchdown against FCA. He delivered big time. Breaking free on a vertical route, the massive strong prospect made a house call, while showing his quick footwork, balance and his hands. Lindor is an elite prospect who can easily make the jump to the D1 level and be successful. I am excited to watch him play this season, and I expect the offers to roll in for the Eagle Academy WR.     Mosley had himself a performance this past weekend. The Eagle Academy II prospect showcased elite strength and managed to get himself involved across the field for his squad. I liked watching him at DB, and he showed good footwork, and the ability to track the ball while staying with his man. His IQ was exceptional as well, and he is a player who could easily make noise this season.     It wouldn't be an Eagle Academy game without talking about [player_tooltip player_id='1302343' first='Chase' last='Hyacinth']. The talented EDGE rusher, had himself a day in the backfield for Eagle Academy II. He showed good hands and I liked his speed off the line which caught lineman off guard a bit, allowing himself to gain a quick first step and an advantage on routes. Hyacinth is a player who once again impressed me.     Lastly was another talented Defensive Lineman who I kept watching make plays for Eagle Academy. [player_tooltip player_id='1302340' first='Sincere' last='Hester']. The veteran 2027 Defensive Lineman, showed elite strength working against some talented lineman throughout the game. I like his tool bag and his use of pass rush moves and hands during rushes, which gave him an advantage during the game.
