In a rematch of last year’s Class 4A state championship thriller, defending champion Wagoner survived and remained unbeaten with a 15-14 win over Cushing. The Bulldogs were able to shut down Cushing’s offense in the second half and hold on for the win. Junior defensive end and star prospect

continued his game-wrecking season. Shieldnight tallied his tenth sack on the season and made some history in the process. He broke Issac Smith’s school record for sacks in a career. Head coach Dale Condict has been pretty vocal over the last 12 months that Shieldnight has the chance to be arguably the best prospect that Wagoner has had. Earlier this season, Shieldnight was added to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year watchlist and he’s playing like one of the best players in the state and specifically played like it Friday.

would be the hero on the night as he caught the game-winning touchdown with just a little over a minute to play. That capped off a complete game from the senior standout. Guess finished with nearly 150 receiving yards and three touchdowns on eight catches. He accounted for all three touchdowns as the Braves improved to 3-3 on the season. Guess is one of the better athletes in the state’s 2024 class. He also accounted for eight tackles and a pair of sacks on the defensive side of the ball. Guess has the size and athleticism to be one of those prospects that finds a way to end up at the next level and once the college coaches get him there, then they figure out where to play him.
On Friday night, in one of the more bizarre games we’ve seen in person this season, Blanchard beat Tuttle 20-6 in a top five match-up in Class 4A. The Lions won by scoring three defensive touchdowns in the second half and forcing eight turnovers in the win. We saw over ten combined turnovers between the two teams on Friday night. Junior standout
Brayson Carter

ended up being the best player on the football field and had the greatest impact. He finished with two interceptions on defense as the Lions totaled seven interceptions on the night. He also stripped a Tuttle ball carrier and returned that fumble for a 35-yard touchdown. That would be the first of three defensive touchdowns for the Lions in the second half. As if that wasn’t enough, Carter also impacted special teams and blocked a Tuttle field goal that would have given the Tigers the lead.

continued to show why he’s one of the top two-way players not only in Class 5A but in the state overall. On offense, Wood was a workhorse running back. He finished with nearly 250 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries. Then he turned around and finished with 17 tackles on the defensive side of the ball. Wood is one of the top two-way players in the state because of what he can do at running back and then on defense at the linebacker position. After playing in seven straight weeks, Wood and the Wildcats will now have a week off before they continue down the stretch of the district schedule. Wood was one of the best two-way players last year and has backed it up again this fall.

and it’s not even up for debate. In Edmond Santa Fe’s three district victories, Robinson has run for 915 yards and 14 touchdowns. Those are strong numbers for a full season and Robinson has done that in the last three weeks. In a high-scoring victory over Mustang, the Wolves handed them Mustang their first loss with a 56-49 win. Robinson was an absolute workhorse in the victory with 35 carries on the night and 300 yards with four touchdowns on the ground. It was the second time in the last three weeks that Robinson has run for at least 300 yards. Oklahoma has some outstanding running backs this year. Several are on this breakdown. Robinson belongs near the very top of that list.

at the quarterback position. Wilson and the Saints remained unbeaten on Friday night with a win over Newkirk. Wilson threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns on 15-19 passing. Wilson also added 100 yards on the ground and two touchdowns in the win. Wilson had just as many touchdowns as he had incompletions on Friday night. Wilson has also been perfect this season in the interception department. He hasn’t thrown one all season. Wilson has thrown for over 1,600 yards and 19 touchdowns this year. The Saints have jumped into the Class 2A rankings and we have to certainly take them seriously as a contender. We’ll find out just how strong of a contender OCS is in two weeks when they hit the road and face 2A powerhouse Millwood in week eight.
Defending 6A-2 champion Stillwater won their fourth game in a row after an 0-2 start. They beat Sand Springs at home on Thursday night with a 35-18 victory. The Pioneers had a balanced attack on the offensive side of the ball as they torched the Sandites on the ground and through the air. But once again, senior running back
Holden Thompson

continued to show us why he’s one of the best running backs in the state. Thompson ran for nearly 150 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries in the win. On Friday, we added Thompson to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year watchlist and that was decided even before he showed out once again on Thursday night. Thompson has been one of the best players in the state so far this fall and we’re now a few weeks away from the week ten showdown with top-ranked Muskogee at home.
It’s hard not to spotlight on Guthrie’s entire defense as they continue to dominate week after week. The Blue Jays had their second consecutive shutout and it was the fifth shutout in six games as they beat Bishop McGuinness 20-0. But on the offensive side of the ball, senior running back
Jaylen Harper

continues to show why he’s one of the best players in the state. Harper had a season-high 220 yards on the ground and three touchdowns in the win. Harper has had an outstanding season as the Blue Jays are now 6-0 and have been carried by Harper and a dominant defense so far this season. The countdown continues as we are now two weeks away from the showdown between Guthrie and defending champion Carl Albert in week eight. This is also your weekly reminder that Class 5A has the best running backs in the state.
On Thursday night, Jenks bounced back with a big win on the road against Norman North. After losing at home to Westmoore the week before, the Trojans left no doubt that they aren’t going anywhere in Class 6A-1 as they beat the Timberwolves 42-14. Sophomore running back
KD Jones

was electric on Thursday night and reminded us why he’s one of the top playmakers in the state of Oklahoma today. It was good to see the Trojans in person and bouncing back in such dominant fashion. Jones finished with well over 100 yards on the ground and three touchdowns and he only had 14 carries in the win. Jones also plays defense for the Trojans and he was able to come away with an interception on the defensive side of the ball. When the Trojans have their playmaker rolling like that and the offense is in rhythm, they are going to be hard to stop.
Victory Christian continued to be one of the more balanced and high-scoring offenses in Class 2A. The Conquerors rolled to a win over Morris and the passing attack was outstanding. Senior wide receiver
Michael Doctor

had a great performance in the win. He finished with just over 150 yards and three touchdowns as he finished with 11 catches. Doctor is a senior wide receiver prospect that we think is incredibly underrated. Doctor is also a standout on the basketball floor but we think Doctor could play football at the next level as well. Victory Christian’s offense has been on a roll this season and it’s going to take a strong effort from someone in Class 2A to slow the Conquerors down. We’ll be keeping an eye on Doctor and Victory in the last two weeks of the season when they play Kansas and Kiefer, who are both unbeaten.

is one of the more underrated standouts in Class 3A this season. NRC might be flying under the radar at 3-3 on the season but Hawkins has been making some standout plays every single week. Hawkins is their leading rusher and one of their top receivers. In Friday’s win, Hawkins ran for more than 150 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned a punt for a 75-yard score.
Isaiah Forbes Isaiah Forbes 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Union | 2024 State OK – 2024 Linebacker – Union
Union continued their dominance in district play with a shutout victory over Norman on Friday night. The defense came out looking to make a statement and did so. Senior linebacker Isaiah Forbes Isaiah Forbes 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Union | 2024 State OK had a solid night in the win as he finished with eight tackles, three sacks and an interception. Forbes and the entire linebacker group had a strong night and they will look to carry that momentum into this week’s game against Mustang.
Jag Norman Jag Norman 6'0" | RB Dibble | 2024 State OK – 2024 Running Back – Dibble
Dibble has won four straight and their offense has been lights out. They are in control of their destiny in the district and senior running back Jag Norman Jag Norman 6'0" | RB Dibble | 2024 State OK is a big reason why. In a shutout win on Friday night, Norman ran for 231 yards and four touchdowns on 19 carries. Norman has run for 100+ yards in all six games this year and is one of the top rushers in Class A. In each week, Norman has run for more yards than the previous week.
Judd Rudd Judd Rudd 5'10" | RB Fort Gibson | 2025 OK – 2025 Running Back – Fort Gibson
Fort Gibson has won back to back games after a 1-3 start. Junior running back Judd Rudd Judd Rudd 5'10" | RB Fort Gibson | 2025 OK is a big reason behind their success in the last two wins. On Friday night, Rudd had another workhorse performance in the victory. He carried the ball 29 times for 234 yards and three touchdowns. This comes one week after carrying the ball 38 times for 200 yards. Rudd and the Tigers are continuing their pursuit of the playoffs.
