Week six has come and gone and there were plenty of standout performers in the second week of the WV high school football season. Here are 11 athletes that stood out during week six of the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='880799' first='Mykel' last='Davis'] - Wheeling Park '24 WR

Several of our Midseason WR Stock Risers had big performances this past week and senior Wheeling Park wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='880799' first='Mykel' last='Davis'] had one of the biggest. Davis has saved his best work for Morgantown area schools and put up big numbers against the Mohigans this week after having a big game against University in week 4. The 6'2 senior had five catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns while averaging 28.4 yards per catch against a talented Morgantown DB group.

[player_tooltip player_id='880797' first='Dominick' last='Collins'] - Princeton '24 WR

Princeton senior wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='880797' first='Dominick' last='Collins'] was up to his usual tricks in the Tigers' 56-7 win over Greenbrier East. Collins just made our Midseason WR Stock Risers and has been a regular in our weekly standouts all season long. The 5'10 165 speedster had another explosive game with five catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns. The big play threat was just that as he had touchdown catches of 34 and 60 yards while averaging 28.4 yards per catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='487111' first='Avonte' last='Crawford'] - Huntington '25 QB/ATH

Junior QB/ATH Avonte' Crawford and the Huntington Highlands made quick work of Riverside in a lopsided 77-0 victory. Crawford wasn't needed for long but quickly made a big impact on the game. He scored four touchdowns in the first half before the reserves came in for relief. Crawford was an efficient 6 of 7 for just over 100 yards but threw for three touchdowns. He also added a fourth touchdown with his legs as the Highlanders are now a perfect 5-0 on the season.

[player_tooltip player_id='370301' first='Anthony' last='Ice'] - Parkersburg '24 WR

The Parkersburg Big Reds battled it out with the George Washington Patriots and several athletes in the game had standout performances. Senior receiver [player_tooltip player_id='370301' first='Anthony' last='Ice'] followed up his PRZ Midseason WR Stock Risers nomination with another big performance and was the game's leading receiver for yards. Ice hauled in 7 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown and averaged 21.3 yards per catch. Ice and the Parkersburg offense put up 339 yards receiving but it was not quite enough as they fall to GW 22-11.

[player_tooltip player_id='370254' first='David' last='Parsons'] - Parkersburg '24 WR

One of the top quarterbacks in the entire state this season has been Parkersburg senior gunslinger [player_tooltip player_id='370254' first='David' last='Parsons'] as he had another big night in a tough loss. Parsons completed 23 of 42 passes for 339 yards and the touchdown pass to [player_tooltip player_id='370301' first='Anthony' last='Ice']. While it wasn't his most efficient night of the season, Parsons has been on a tear all year and made our Midseason QBs Stock Risers as one of the most impressive quarterbacks in West Virginia in 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='268486' first='Abraham' last='Fenwick'] - George Washington '24 QB

Abraham "Abe" Fenwick makes his debut in our weekly standouts and although the William & Mary commit has gone under the radar this season, he was critical in the Patriots' big win over Parkersburg. While his stats weren't as gaudy as some others this season, Fenwick commanded the GW offense and led them to a much-needed victory. He was an efficient 12 of 18 for 205 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. His touchdown pass was a beautiful 57-yard toss rolling out to his left as the lefty lofted the ball over the defender and hit his man in stride. He also added a second touchdown on the ground and averaged 17.1 yards per completion on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='892314' first='Matthew' last='Stalnaker'] - Parkersburg '24 WR/LB

The Stalnaker twins have put together a tremendous senior season thus far but it was Matthew who really stood out this week against a tough George Washington team. He led the game with 8 receptions that went for 123 yards on a 15.4 yards per catch average. Stalnaker also added 4 tackles on defense with 2.5 of them going for a loss. Through six games, [player_tooltip player_id='892314' first='Matthew' last='Stalnaker'] has caught 17 passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns but has really made an impact on defense with 49 total tackles, 13 TFLs, 4 sacks, and 2 fumble recoveries returning one for a touchdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='370294' first='Alex' last='Eaton'] - Spring Mills '24 RB/LB

Senior Spring Mills running back and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='370294' first='Alex' last='Eaton'] had a night to remember in the Cardinals' 57-0 shutout of Washington. Eaton was a large reason why Spring Mills got the shutout with two interceptions in the game and returning one for a touchdown. Eaton nearly returned the second one for another touchdown and had another nice pass breakup that could've been his third INT of the night. He also toted the ball on offense when needed and had a nice couple of 10+ yard runs making an impact on both sides of the ball as the Cardinals are off to their best start in school history at 5-1.

[player_tooltip player_id='370283' first='Aydin' last='Fleming'] - Hedgesville '24 LB

Hedgesville senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='370283' first='Aydin' last='Fleming'] set a new school record for single-game tackles in their game versus Jefferson. The Eagles took a tough 28-0 loss to the Cougars but Fleming was playing like a man possessed. Fleming totaled 26 tackles and 3 TFLs to set the new school record. Fleming has traditionally been on the defensive line until this season with his new team and has excelled as an outside linebacker and putting up monster numbers this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='907236' first='Ethan' last='Jackson'] - University '25 WR/DB

[player_tooltip player_id='907236' first='Ethan' last='Jackson'] had another big performance in University's 42-14 win over Buckhannon-Upshur. Jackson having made our Midseason WR Stock Risers decided to make us look good by having three receiving touchdowns in the game. The junior receiver and defensive back took two touch passes around the edge for short scores and also another short touchdown catch on a traditional route. Jackson finished with 8 catches for 78 yards and three touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='909000' first='Maverick' last='Lemasters'] - John Marshall '25 RB/LB

John Marshall junior running back [player_tooltip player_id='909000' first='Maverick' last='Lemasters'] has quietly had a great season thus far on a struggling Monarchs team and has been their biggest bright spot through the first six games. The big bruising back is in his first year of playing as a traditional running back but has shown to be a natural behind John Marshall's big offensive line. Lemasters willed his Monarchs team to their first win over Warren Local (OH) and carried the load literally with 27 totes for 141 yards and a touchdown. He would also add a receiving touchdown on a screen pass that went 22 yards to the house.

Week six has come and gone and there were plenty of standout performers in the second week of the WV high school football season. Here are 11 athletes that stood out during week six of the season.
