could’ve easily signed with an FCS school on scholarship but will look to earn one at WVU as a PWO. The move to linebacker this season greatly benefitted his college outlook as his size and skillset better translate to that position. Fleming was named the PRZ WV Class AAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year after putting up a monster state line for the Eagles this season. He has a great chance of earning a scholarship at WVU and can help the Mountaineers as a special teams ace at the very least.
Below was our evaluation of Fleming this season.

out of Hedgesville earned one-half of our Class AAA Co-Defensive Players of the Year honors sharing the honor with former Martinsburg teammate Rashad Reid . Saying Fleming had a productive season with his new school would be an understatement as he finished his senior year with 167 tackles, 23 TFLs, 24 QB hurries, and 10 sacks. He made the move to linebacker from primarily being a defensive end in the past and the move paid off for him. Fleming showed great natural instincts in his first year playing the linebacker position and his amount of production speaks to his level of ability and athleticism. He’s a true outside linebacker who is very good coming off the edge but is athletic enough to drop into coverage at times. Fleming is a high-ceiling player who is only scratching the surface of his linebacker potential and is worthy of a D1 school giving him a shot and letting him develop in their program for a couple of years. If not, he’ll earn some accolades at a D2 school and be a steal for any program at that level that gets him.

is at a new school and a new position this season and the move is paying off in a big way for him. Fleming is putting up monster stats and just set a new school record for tackles in a single game in his week six game against Jefferson with 26. Through the first six games, he has racked up a mind-blowing 112 tackles, 13 TFLs, and 6.5 sacks. Fleming has slimmed down to around 205 pounds and made the move from defensive end to outside linebacker this season and is flying around at his smaller size. He’s a rangy linebacker who can be effective in all phases of the position and has the athleticism to drop into coverage or rush the passer. Fleming also shows the willingness to be physical in run defense and hasn’t lost his physicality since slimming down. I love the way he flies around and the effort and hustle that he plays with which has paid off with an offer from Dartmouth in the spring and D2 Charleston (WV) offered him this past week.

made statewide news when he decided to transfer from perennial power Martinsburg HS to Hedgesville HS this off-season for his senior year. Fleming will be one of the premier players in the state this season and has picked up a D1 offer from Dartmouth in March. He will be making a bit of a position change in the Eagles’ defense from defensive line to more of a linebacker/safety role to showcase his athleticism. Fleming is 6’1 215 so that move should benefit his skillset and athletic abilities and allow him to show how versatile he is as an athlete. Last season he showed that he can be an elite pass rusher and his burst off the line is one of the fastest in the state. Although he was a bit undersized for a defensive lineman in the past, Fleming proved he was physical and was a nightmare to block off the end for offensive linemen. His speed and quickness should really help his move to linebacker and I believe he has the skills to drop into coverage as well. Fleming should once again prove he’s one of the top players in the state this season and I bet more D1 schools jump on board after seeing his position change.
