2025 John Marshall RB/LB Maverick Lemasters Maverick Lemasters 6'1" | 195 lbs | LB John Marshall | 2025 State WV is always impressive every time we see him in person and that was the case again at the Wheeling U Skills Showcase. Lemasters is making the rounds this off-season at various camps and the hard work and dedication are going to pay off for him in time. He had more strong testing numbers during the camp like he did a few weeks ago at our WV Combine event and ran another 4.8 40, 4.6 pro shuttle, and a 3.5-yard broad jump which are really good numbers for an athlete his size at 6’1 200. Lemasters is going to begin picking up some offers sooner rather than later and don’t be surprised to see him have multiple before his senior season begins.

He’s just too big and athletic for a linebacker for D2 schools to pass up on and should have his pick of MEC offers by Signing Day.

He’s coming off a great junior season for the Monarchs as a two-way running back and linebacker and has a bright future at the LB position. Lemasters stuck out right away from a physical standpoint and he plays with a lot of physicality as well. He tested well running a 4.8 40 and quick shuttle and L Drill times of 4.44 and 7.31 seconds.

Lemasters is plenty capable of being one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2025 class where he already ranks inside the Top 10 for the position. There are a lot of athletic traits and abilities to mold into a future college player who can earn some accolades at the next level.

Lemasters, who was expected to be the starting fullback, stepped up at running back and all he did was rush for 1,250 yards and 9 total touchdowns. However, his ceiling as a linebacker is even greater, and with the added size he’s put on since his sophomore year, he’s put himself in the conversation as one of the top linebackers in the 2025 class. The 6’1 195 middle linebacker is your typical downhill physical tackler with good hips through contact. His athleticism that he showed at running back translates to the defensive side of the ball with good pursuit speed. Lemasters’ physicality is also apparent when shedding blockers and fighting through the line of scrimmage. He’s also a quality wrestler which you can see on the football field in the 190-pound weight class.
