There weren’t many higher stock risers in the state this season at any position and by far the biggest at quarterback than Parkersburg’s David Parsons David Parsons 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Parkersburg | 2024 State WV who had a monster year for the Big Reds. I really loved Parson’s junior film and he had a nice boost in the preseason rankings but jumped up even further to the #3 QB spot and is now in the Top 15 at #14 overall in the 2024 Rankings. Parsons threw for 2,700 yards and 33 touchdowns in his senior season and just picked up his first D1 offer from FCS VMI. He was an easy decision to put on our Class AAA First Team All-State honors and may have as high of a ceiling as any of the 2024 WV quarterbacks. Parsons has great size at 6’3 225 along with being a quality overall athlete. He has great arm strength and can really drive the ball down the field but also throw with nice touch. The part of his game that has always stood out to me is his ability to throw from a variety of arm angles and off-platform throws which speaks to his arm talent even further.

Parkersburg quarterback David Parsons David Parsons 6'3" | 205 lbs | QB Parkersburg | 2024 State WV has had a tremendous start to his senior campaign and has been a mainstay on our weekly standouts this season. Through the first five games of his season, Parsons has thrown for 1,325 yards and 18 touchdowns. In two of those games he was only needed in the first half or his stats would be even better. He went the first four games without throwing a single interception and is completing nearly 70% of his passes. The big 6’3 225 senior has also added 143 yards and three more touchdowns with his legs. Parsons has thrown for at least 300 yards in the three games that he played all four quarters and is proving to be one of the top quarterbacks in the state this season.

Parsons has prototypical size at 6’3 205 and is an impressive-looking athlete. He can beat you with his legs or his arm and does a nice job scrambling in the pocket buying time to throw or taking off to run. You can have him execute QB-designed runs and with his size, he should be able to absorb some hits. Parsons throws a very pretty ball and has an effortless throwing motion and release. He can stretch the field with his arm and the ball really pops off his hand. Off-platform throws are very popular these days and Parsons can really make some nice ones. He has nice touch and often lays it right into his receivers’ hands while hitting them in stride. Parsons has a really strong arm and can make a lot of throws using only his arm and not needing to put his body into them. He can step into throws or just rip it with his arm from a variety of arm angles and platforms.
