The regular season is in the books! What a ride it has been. Of all the seasons I have covered, this has been the hardest one to predict results week to week. I have long said that the Class of 2024 is the best to come out of WI in a very long time. That has shown up in how unpredictable this year has been. Truly anybody can win. Before we get into the playoffs, let’s look back on the best from the final week of the regular season. We focus on the offensive side of the ball, today. Let’s get it started!
Kaden has been putting together great tape as the season went on. It culminates with an impressive Week 9. There is so much to like about Kaden, and want on your team at the next level. He looks the part at 6’4″ 280 lbs, and he moves with the ease, power, and fluidity that separates the top talent from the rest. You see consistent technique from his feet to his hand placement when he lands that powerful punch. The big man also brings that nasty streak that you need in the trenches. He is someone who will look to put his man in the ground, and does it with sound technique. Kaden already holds a strong ranking, but we may see that continue to climb. I’m excited to see him in the playoffs.
Stats: 4 Receptions, 156 Yards, 1 TDrnI already covered Madden a couple weeks ago in their matchup with Eau Claire Regis. I loved what I saw live, so I had to check back in with the quickly rising junior WR. I can’t wait to see his recruitment take off over this next year. He checks off so many boxes you look for in an outside playmaker. He has a great frame to continue to build on at 6’3″ 185 lbs. The junior runs like a more compact athlete. He is sudden off the line and into/out of his breaks. His speed in the open field is a big mismatch at the HS level. Madden is also surprisingly elusive in tight quarters, demonstrated by his play on the tunnel screen. Mahr also finds and tracks the ball well while in the air and will go and find a way to get it. I’ll be pounding the table for this dude.
Stats: 45 Carries, 297 Yards, 3 TDsrnWhat a way to finish the regular season! Logan put the team, the buses, the school, everything he could find on his back with his 45 carries leading to a huge win over Onalaska. When I wrote about Logan is Week 1 I mentioned he had made a noticeable jump since his junior tape. It looks like he has improved more just during this season. The senior is a decisive runner who finds the lane quickly and then attacks north-south. Rufledt has a low center of gravity and the power/contact balance combo to consistently break through the arm tackle attempts. He is a tough, grind out the yards type of RB. I can’t wait to see the workhorse go to work in the playoffs.
Steve Young
Steve Young
Stats: 32 Carries, 169 Yards, 1 TDrnSteve is brand new to my radar. The senior ended his regular season on a very high note, and the tape is worth taking a longer look into. Steve is a solid athlete that is quicker than he is fast. Multiple times you see him get into tight quarters and be able to jump cut or juke his way out of trouble. He has solid explosiveness in short areas. Once in the open field, Young runs with a mean streak. He will lower the shoulder, and he possesses a strong stiff arm. Steve is another senior on this offense to get familiar with. Take a look at the film below.
Stats: 24 Carries, 189 Yards, 2 TDsrnIf you want to see a kid grind out the tough yards, click on this tape. Peyton is a powerful, compact athlete. The 5’10” 200 lbs senior sets the tone with his physicality. He makes it known early and often that the defense is going to have to earn every tackle. Snyder plays low to the ground, can absorb the big shots, runs through contact, and keeps his feet moving until the whistle blows. The senior isn’t just a short yardage type of runner, though. He has some lateral agility to avoid or get himself to an open lane. Plays he has the speed to create the big plays. Keep an eye on the senior in the playoffs.
Highlights
Stats: 18 Carries, 240 Yards, 4 TDsrnWe have seen the explosive senior athlete Ben Ott Ben Ott 6’1″ | 190 lbs | LB Nicolet | 2024 State WI at RB and QB this season. However he lines up, the results are the same. Big gains on the ground. Ott has strong instincts as a ball carrier. He has the vision to find seams, locate blocks, and sets up defenders. Ben plays with an exciting blend of speed, agility, and power. On any given pay he can make a defender miss or run through arm tackles. Then once he hits the open field Ben has the speed to go the distance. Ott has a lot of varsity experience under his belt. Great to see him start to get next level offers including a recent one from UW-Whitewater.
Stats: 1/1, 21 Yards, 23 Carries, 188 Yards, 3 TDsrnJP handles QB duties in the Badger option offense. He fits the job so well, especially after multiple seasons of experience. JP is a quick processor and consistently good decision maker with the football. Doyle sees the field very well, and when he finds the seam he has the burst/acceleration to fly through lanes and pull away with his top end speed. I’m excited to see where JP is used at the next level. I could see the ATH fitting on either side of the ball with his athleticism, size, instincts, and football IQ. This is definitely an athlete to know in the Class of 2024.

Stats: 17 Carries, 121 Yards, 1 TDrnAlex and Oconomowoc ended their season this past Friday. The senior put together a strong final performance to add to his senior highlights. Wraalstad’s Week 9 tape is a fun, impressive watch. Alex wins with his athleticism and explosiveness. His explosive traits make his vision even more dangerous because he can instantly attack what he sees. That also makes him a reliable return option. What really caught my eyes in this tape is the contact balance that comes with the athleticism. Alex ran through tackles, absorbed hits, and earned a lot of yards after contact. Don’t overlook the senior RB. Check out the film below.
