RBs Toting the Rock Early and Often to Start 2026

Yesterday it was a look at the most prolific passers to start the year. Today we stay in the backfield and take a look at the RBs leading the way across the state. Being apart of this group is no easy feat. WI is well admired for its ability to run football across our high school landscape and produce those big fellas up front as well as the dudes toting the rock 15-20+ times a game. The early season has gotten off to a very hot start at the position as you will see by the numbers from this position group. So let's not waste any time and dive right in!    Season Stats: 90 Carries, 1,047 Yards, 15 TDs   The Badgers commit is off to one of the greatest starts we have ever seen to a season. It took the senior RB less than three full weeks to break 1,000 yards. Watching the clips that have come out from the heavily publicized RB shows how superiorly gifted he is. The speed, contact balance, and angry running can't be slowed down without gang tackles and even that seems to barely work. It is wild that defenses know he is getting the ball, yet the senior is averaging 11.6 yards/carry and 5 TDs a game. I can't wait to see the final numbers at this rate and also am fired up to see him in a year with that motion W on his helmet!     Season Stats: 47 Carries, 562 Yards, 10 TDs   Ayden is a runaway freight train with the football in his hands. Once he gets rolling downhill he is going to run through arm tackles and throw powerful stiff arms to keep defenders at bay. The big man isn't just a rumbling ball carrier though. He is someone who can make the sudden cuts or spin off a tackle attempt to put him in the open field all of a sudden. It is a very balanced toolbox of gifts and attributes for the Amherst standout. The senior is also a patient runner who decisively attacks up field when he finds that lane he is told to aim for. Coaches, this senior RB is uncommitted. You need to tap into the highlights.      Season Stats: 39 Carries, 551 Yards, 7 TDs   The senior ATH may play QB for University School, but he does his damage with his legs. The 6' 190 lbs athlete has the frame for the RB position. The tape shows an athlete who is very elusive with the ability to accelerate or juke/jump cut away from defenders. His vision with the football also stands out on tape. Willy is clearly an instinctual runner of the football and has the traits to play several positions at the next level potentially. Give the hidden gem a look.      Season Stats: 58 Carries, 530 Yards, 6 TDs   Next up we have an RB who can change a game with a single touch. Arrowhead's Jebari Craig is an electric athlete with the football in his hands. He flexes his speed as he flies through gaps and through the secondary untouched. It feels like he never has to slow down when he gets the ball. He finds his aiming point and hits it at full speed, showing confidence in his own vision and his OL to open things up for him. What you don't expect from the 5'9" 185 lbs athlete is the way he can bounce off tacklers downfield. Jebari is very well balanced and seems to absorb contact, allowing him to continue downfield without so much as stumbling. The RB is an explosive weapon on one of the best offenses in the state. Don't miss out on the 2027 RB.      Season Stats: 45 Carries, 508 Yards, 8 TDs   Jax is one of the top uncommitted seniors in the state and is a potential dual position prospect between RB and LB. The senior RB has carved out a very productive career in the Waterford backfield and is well on his way towards a strong final season. The big RB is extremely well-rounded. Right from the first clip you see that the RB can win with speed to the edge and vision to carve through the secondary for a huge gain. Then a few plays later you see that he can easily run through arm tackles like a hot knife through butter. Year over year Jax has become more and more of an explosive athlete who can also handle the wear and tear of a heavy workload. Don't get caught sleeping on the Top 5 RB.      Season Stats: 86 Carries, 503 Yards, 4 TDs   In 2025 Jayden broke onto the scene and so far in 2026 he has proven it wasn't a fluke. The senior RB is a stout prospect with his 5'11" 190 lbs frame. He is an athlete who is quicker than purely fast, and that allows him to dominate through traffic. When things get tight Jayden has the gift of being able to create space with his agility and vision. The low center of gravity has been huge to Jayden's success as well as he has been piling up the yards after contact through the first three games. Give the highlights a watch!      Season Stats: 46 Carries, 492 Yards, 11 TDs   Axzil and the Freedom offense have been outstanding through three weeks. The reason is because of how balanced they have been. Their QB was mentioned in the passing article and now we have RB [player_tooltip player_id='1709852' first='Axzil' last='Eggert'] for the running back standouts. The 2028 RB has that bowling ball build with a 5'10" 205 lbs frame and the junior obviously has a nose for the endzone. The bigger back is not just a power athlete. He has made a massive leap in his agility and lateral mobility when it comes to making the jump cuts into running lanes. Adding that development to his elusiveness along with his strong frame that can create yards after contact has Eggert on his way towards a Top 100 ranking. I highly recommend checking out the highlights and keeping a very close eye on Eggert this fall.      Season Stats: 35 Carries, 395 Yards, 10 TDs   The 6'1" 230 lbs senior out of C-FC is an absolute unit on the football field. It is impressive watching the big man run the rock. He catches you off guard with some solid burst through holes and an effective second gear in the open field. So much so that we don't see a ton of highlights where he has to use that overwhelming size to create yards, but have no doubt that the big man can do that. The small school standout has his team looking for a return trip to Madison this fall, and the early signs are that they are well on the path to do so. Don't overlook the small school senior!      Season Stats: 39 Carries, 483 Yards, 5 TDs   The senior RB out of West Allis Central is off to a strong start in 2026. Diez has a great combination of size and athleticism to a point where he could be looked at for several positions alongside RB. The highlights below show that home run threat that he brings to the backfield. Plus when he doesn't have a clear shot to the endzone Diez is more than willing to lower his shoulder to finish the play with physicality. The explosive senior should end the year with a very impressive stat line if he continues his current pace. Check him out!      Season Stats: 48 Carries, 477 Yards, 6 TDs   Morell is off to a roaring start to 2026. Racine Case has played a heck of a tough schedule to start the year, but Morell has been able to produce week in and week out. The senior is extremely agile, quick, and explosive. He has been fantastic working through traffic, even showing that he can break some arm tackles at 5'7" 160 lbs. His top end track speed stands out from the crowd despite playing at the D1 HS level and his acceleration flashes over and over from play to play. No surprise to see that Morell has earned some offers since the season started.
