Axzil opened up the playoffs putting on a show with his 11 carries. It is special to see a bigger back like Eggert who can still make the jukes and cuts through traffic that he does. It is a testament to how strong his lower body is and how balanced he is as a runner. His ability to see the defender and know how to make them miss in a millisecond seemed impossible, but the 2028 RB did it all night long. Then you have the power that you would expect from the big, thick RB to go along with those athletic gifts. All together it makes Axzil one of the best at the RB position in his Class. Freedom is rolling with Eggert leading the way.

Axzil and the Freedom offense have been outstanding through three weeks. The reason is because of how balanced they have been. Their QB was mentioned in the passing article and now we have RB Axzil Eggert Axzil Eggert 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Freedom | 2028 State WI for the running back standouts. The 2028 RB has that bowling ball build with a 5’10” 205 lbs frame and the junior obviously has a nose for the endzone. The bigger back is not just a power athlete. He has made a massive leap in his agility and lateral mobility when it comes to making the jump cuts into running lanes. Adding that development to his elusiveness along with his strong frame that can create yards after contact has Eggert on his way towards a Top 100 ranking. I highly recommend checking out the highlights and keeping a very close eye on Eggert this fall.

The Freedom offense has been on a tear this season, dominating with a perfectly balanced attack of passing and rushing. Leading the way on the ground is junior RB Axzil Eggert Axzil Eggert 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Freedom | 2028 State WI . The 5’10” 205 lbs athlete is built for a bellcow role and gets that at Freedom. Eggert is patient and has really good vision early on in the play while behind the line of scrimmage. The junior is able to go from cutting and juking through traffic to lowering his shoulder in an instant and it has made him very effective running between the tackles. Eggert also brings reliable pass blocking to the field too, making him a three down back. The talented junior RB is definitely someone that college coaches and recruits need to know!

One of my favorite RB performances from the day was Freedom’s rising 2028 RB Axzil Eggert Axzil Eggert 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Freedom | 2028 State WI . He has the makings of a feature back, and proved in 2025 he could be utilized as one with his 140+ carries and 1,000+ rushing yards. The 5’10” 204 lbs soon-to-be junior RB pairs a strong, stout frame with game-changing athleticism. He ran a 4.59 40, 4.56 shuttle, 7.09 L-Drill, vertical jumped 30″ and broad jumped 8’10”. Eggert is a kid who can get you the tough yards on 3rd and short, and also break that carry loose for 75 yards to the house. This performance should be the launching pad to a big year for Eggert and his team. Make sure this kid is on your radars.

This is a fun RB to watch. The 5’11” 200 lbs sophomore is a compact RB, with a very low center of gravity. He piled up over 1,000 yards rushing on varsity in 2025, and that could be just the start of what he does the next two years. Axzil has built a thick, strong frame that can handle that wear and tear of a high workload. His ability to play through contact and keep gaining yards helps him wear down the defense and get stronger as the game goes on. Eggert is at his best between the tackles and does really well instantly reading, reacting, and avoiding defenders in tight quarters. Big things ahead for Eggert and the Freedom offense.

The sophomore RB out of Freedom HS ran over, around, and through the Fox Valley Lutheran defense in Week 5. The 5’11” 200 lbs back left no doubt that he has the size, contact balance, power, and mentality to be able to handle a large workload while wearing down a defense and producing at a high level. Axzil has a special, innate, natural ability to get through contact. Whether it be with a stiff arm, or rolling with the punches and keeping his balance, or making tacklers miss with a juke or spin. The ’28 is quickly building and developing instincts that you don’t see often. He is a kid that defenses have to gang tackle and also make sure they have enough pursuit because Axzil has the quickness to make you miss 1 on 1 in the hole. I’m very excited to watch the underclassman continue to develop and put out film.
