This week on Prep Redzone Oklahoma, we’re putting a spotlight on some of the top 2026 prospects in the state. From guys who have been shining since they were freshmen to others who are enjoying breakout seasons this fall, we got it all covered. On Monday, we released our updated 2026 rankings. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down different position groups and overall standouts in the state’s 2026 class so far. In this post, we’re putting the spotlight on five prospects who are listed as athletes and have the potential to shine at a few different positions. Keep it locked in throughout the week for more breakdowns on 2026 prospects. And check back every Monday in October for more prospect ranking updates!
This is the third ranking for the state’s 2026 class and the second straight time that Jenks standout KD Jones KD Jones 6’0″ | 170 lbs | ATH Jenks | 2026 State OK has topped the list. Jones debuted at #2 overall and has held on to the top spot since June. Jones has had a fantastic start to his sophomore season. In May, Jones moved from Broken Arrow to Jenks and immediately gave the Trojan offense a boost but was much more than just a running back. Jones instantly one of Jenks’ more versatile players on the team. Whether it’s as a running back or receiver on offense, cornerback on defense or becoming a threat in the return game, Jones is a player to watch every single week. Last week’s performance against Moore was a perfect example of just how dynamic Jones could be. We’re looking forward to seeing his continued development.
Vian dropped a couple non-district games and the Wolverines are flying under the radar in Class 2A. But with the playoffs getting closer, overlooking the perennial 2A power would be a mistake. Sophomore Masyn Wright Masyn Wright 5’11” | 180 lbs | ATH Vian | 2026 State OK is a big reason why because of his abilities on both sides of the ball. Right now, Wright is listed as an athlete, but just like everyone on this breakdown and a player under the “athlete” umbrella, it will be known what Wright will be at the next level. Right now, if we had to predict it, we would say the offensive side of the ball at running back. Wright has had a fantastic start to his sophomore season and he’s backed up a breakout freshman season. Wright is not only a player to watch for Vian this season but moving forward. They’ve already gotten creative with how they use him.
Another prospect on this breakdown that is now in the top ten is Bixby’s Cord Nolan Cord Nolan 6’1″ | 185 lbs | TE Bixby | 2026 State OK and we just switched Nolan from linebacker to athlete considering what he’s done at the tight end position this fall. In the summer, we were fairly convinced that Nolan was going to be a game-wrecking linebacker that also happened to play tight end. But the super sophomore has emerged as one of Bixby’s top producers on the offensive side of the ball. He’s second on the team in receiving yards and touchdowns this season. Granted, this is a Bixby team that absolutely spreads the love and it has opened the door for Nolan to be a bigger name on the offensive side of the ball. The Spartans just graduated an All American at tight end in Luke Hasz. Nolan has emerged as the next physical standout at the position.
Highlights
Lawton Eisenhower standout Aiden Monigold Aiden Monigold 6’2″ | ATH Lawton Eisenhower | 2026 State OK is still listed as an athlete in this latest ranking update but we’re starting to lean more to the defensive side of the ball. Monigold’s physicality is something that jumps off the screen when watching him on film. Monigold also lines up on offense as a tight end but it’s his blocking that always stands out. Monigold is an absolute game-wrecker when he’s on the football field. We mentioned it over the summer and we’ll repeat it here. Lawton Eisenhower is not lacking talent in some of the younger classes. They have guys that will play at the next level. Monigold is certainly in that conversation. While we’re leaning to the defensive side of the ball, we’re not going to count out him being an offensive prospect at some point.
We got a chance to see Elgin earlier this season and it was hard to not be impressed with their performance in a road win over Weatherford. One of the players that shined bright that night was sophomore Ritson Meyer Ritson Meyer 6’1″ | 200 lbs | ATH Elgin | 2026 State OK at the running back and linebacker position. Meyer ran the football like he was a linebacker that played running back. He is a very physical runner and has no problem lowering the shoulder and absorbing contact and dishing it out. Meyer is probably going to end up on the defensive side of the ball when it comes to his potential as a college prospect. But we can’t overlook what he’s going to be able to do for Elgin on offense. And after this season, he’ll be the marquee running back in a backfield and no longer splitting carries. That will be something to watch.
