Be sure to keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more 2024 prospect breakdowns this week!
NOAH defensive end Daniel Okoye Daniel Okoye 6’4″ | 225 lbs | DL NOAH | 2024 State OK continues to hold on to the top overall spot in our 2024 rankings. Despite missing some time this season with injuries, Okoye has been one of the more impressive looking athletes we’ve seen in recent memory. Okoye is incredibly special when you look at his raw athleticism. The sky is the limit for this home school prospect when you combine his athletic ability and his willingness to put the work in. Okoye qualifies as a physical freak with some of the numbers that he’s been able to put up in the weight room. You simply don’t see that at the high school level very often. Earlier this season, Okoye announced his commitment to Oklahoma, choosing the Sooners over Tennessee and Texas. As NOAH closes out their season, looking for another national title, Okoye should shine bright.
Since our last ranking update, Durant defensive lineman XaDavien Sims XaDavien Sims 6’4″ | 275 lbs | DL Durant | 2024 State OK announced his verbal commitment and is headed up to the pacific northwest to Oregon. Sims also accepted an invitation to the All American bowl in January as one of the nation’s top prospects. Sims has been a prospect that we first saw when he was still down in Texas. He came up to Durant last summer and has been one of the top prospects in Oklahoma ever since. Sims is so dangerous up front and you can tell how much work he puts in away from the Friday night lights to do just that. Earlier this season, Sims grabbed a lot of headlines by lining up on offense and making a catch in the end zone that ended up on ESPN. We’ve seen Sims play in quite a few 7v7 tournaments over the last two years so that was no surprise to us.
Union defensive back Devon Jordan Devon Jordan 6’1″ | DB Union | 2024 State OK continues his climb up the rankings in this latest update and he’s moved into the top five for overall prospects and has remained the top guy at his position. Union has definitely had a great run of defensive backs over the last five to ten seasons. They have quite a few in the 2024 class that will be playing college ball and Jordan is the best of the bunch. Jordan is an outstanding athlete that has continued to improve his game on the defensive side of the ball. As we get closer to the playoffs, we won’t be surprised to see Union take advantage of Jordan’s athletic ability and start putting him in positions to make plays on offense and in special teams. We’ve already seen him be an impact player in special teams this season earlier this year and he had a massive impact.
The reigning PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year remains in the top five overall rankings. Carl Albert running back and OU commit Xavier Robinson Xavier Robinson 6’2″ | 225 lbs | RB Carl Albert | 2024 State OK is once again one of the best players in the state as the Titans look to add another state championship to their trophy case. Robinson became one of the state’s best players last season, when he helped carry the Titans to a gold ball. In the offseason, his recruitment absolutely exploded and this summer, he announced his commitment to the Sooners. This season, he picked up right where he left off last season as one of the more unstoppable players in the state. He has been a touchdown machine this fall and shows no signs of slowing down. Last season, Robinson had a playoff run that was one of the best in recent memory. We’re looking forward to seeing if he replicates that in the next month.
Wagoner standout Witt Edwards Witt Edwards 6’6″ | 200 lbs | WR Wagoner | 2024 State OK continues to be one of the more intriguing prospects in the state’s 2024 class. We have Edwards listed as a wide receiver in this update and he continues to be the top-ranked prospect at his position. But there are several different spots he can play at the next level. Whether it’s wide receiver or tight end on offense, or several different spots on the defensive side of the ball, Edwards is an absolute game changer and he’s been one of Wagoner’s top players over the last three seasons. Edwards and the Bulldogs have been perfect this season and are looking to repeat as Class 4A state champions in the next month. Earlier this season, Edwards announced his commitment to Vanderbilt. The relationship Edwards had built with the Vandy coaches was a big factor.
There were three 20224 prospects that jumped into the top ten on this latest ranking update and Del City running back Rodney Fields Rodney Fields 6’0″ | RB Del City | 2024 State OK is the highest ranked of the bunch. Fields is a borderline top five overall prospect and is right there in the conversation as the top running back prospect in the state’s 2024 class. Fields was really good last season and then he had a strong offseason at various camps and 7v7 tournaments. He would commit to Oklahoma State and has been loyal to the Pokes ever since. Fields also moved from Southeast to Del City and immediately made the Eagles one of the top teams in Class 5A this season. And from the first game of the year, it was clear that Fields was going to be one of the best players in the state of Oklahoma. Fields is going to be a must-watch player in the playoffs.
Westmoore defensive back Mykel Patterson-McDonald Mykel Patterson-McDonald 6’0″ | DB Westmoore | 2024 State OK is another DB commit to OU as the Sooners have landed the top two ranked DB prospects in the state’s 2024 class. McDonald is an absolute athlete and has shined bright on the track and has translated that success to the football field. McDonald is having a fantastic senior season and Westmoore is going to be a team to watch as we get closer to the playoffs. And when you combine him and Graham at quarterback, the Jaguars have two of the best athletes in the state’s 2024 class. It’s going to be interesting to see just how far these guys can take Westmoore in November. They’ve already made plenty of noise this season and they are hungry for more with the playoffs starting up. He brings a lot of versatility to the field when he’s lining up in the secondary.
Edmond Santa Fe offensive lineman Josh Aisosa Josh Aisosa 6’5″ | 300 lbs | OL Edmond Santa Fe | 2024 State OK is the fifth prospect on this breakdown that is committed to Oklahoma as the Sooners continue to put a higher importance on recruiting the top local talent. Aisosa also continues his rise up the rankings as he has continued to move up in each update this year. Since January, Aisosa has skyrocketed up the ranks and is now the top offensive lineman in the class. You look at the success he and the Santa Fe rushing attack have had this season and it’s hard to argue many other guys being better than him at the position. He has paved the way for Santa Fe to have one of the best running games in the state, regardless of class. Now, they have one of the best running backs in the state’s 2025 class but having Aisosa lining up on the line of scrimmage has certainly made things easier.

Del City has two prospects in the top ten and TCU commit Ladainian Fields Ladainian Fields 6’2″ | 180 lbs | ATH Del City | 2024 State OK is the other Eagle within the top ten of our recent 2024 update. Just like Rodney, Ladainian was an absolute star at Southeast and he emerged as an absolute star while he was there. And just like Rodney, he’s reached new heights this season at Del City and he has the Eagles in contention for the 5A state championship. We moved Fields to the “athlete” position in this latest update because of his ability to be one of the best wide receivers and defensive backs in the state. He was added to our PRZ-Oklahoma Player Of The Year watchlist earlier this season and shows no signs of slowing down. On offense, Fields has been the leading receiver and he’s still a ball hawk on defense. But Fields is also a threat in the return game for the Eagles.

Choctaw standout Will Smith Will Smith 6’4″ | 240 lbs | DL Choctaw | 2024 State OK rounds out the top ten and is yet another athletic defensive lineman that has the ability to tear things up at the next level. Unfortunately, Smith had to miss the first part of his senior season after having an appendectomy back in August. He missed the first few weeks of the season but was able to return towards the end of non-district play. Smith is one of the best athletes in the state when you consider his overall athleticism. We’ve mentioned a few times how Smith first impressed us with his leaping ability on the basketball floor. Smith also turned heads this offseason as a tight end in various 7v7 tournaments. Smith committed to Tulsa earlier this season and should feel right at home. Game-wrecking Choctaw defensive linemen are no strangers to the Tulsa program.
