Continue ReadingDon’t get me wrong, I’m fully aware of the potential bad habits QBs can develop and form with too much 7v7 participation. I’d place in front of that argument, Drew Ross Drew Ross 5’10” | 150 lbs | QB Freeport | 2026 State PA , who I believe has benefited greatly from the experience. He’s had the opportunity to play with and against top-tier talent. Confidence, chemistry, timing, all areas have improved because of his offseason work, coupled with what I imagine to be work ethic when it was time to report to Freeport. Two games of tape, two games of decisiveness, confidence, like the young man has something to prove. He’s hitting open targets from various spots on the field, Ross is getting busy in the backfield too, making it tough to bring him down for sacks while also creating passing lanes/windows with his movement. This is how you climb our rankings. Excited to see him continue to work.

What a week for the top 30 pass-catcher. Ian Goodling Ian Goodling 6’1″ | WR West Perry | 2024 State PA reeled in double-digit balls, for 160+ yards and a score for West Perry. Goodling also registered a sack from what I see. I haven’t broken open the tape, yet I hear that Goodling became the West Perry all-time leader in receiving yards, a huge accomplishment. He’s going to extend that record with each passing week. Goodling was available on posts, out-and-ups, while WP called plenty of screens for the young man so he could work in space, that he did.
Mason Semmel Mason Semmel 6’3″ | 210 lbs | ATH Hamburg | 2024 State PA already ranks as a Division One prospect, his performance this past weekend cemented why I think so highly of the young man. Four catches, 165 yards, three of the four catches went for touchdowns. Highly recommend plugging in his Warrior Run tape, primarily working as a stand-up in-line TE, Semmel chipped and released, working the middle of the field well. Looked like a man among boys, Semmel was also tasked with pulling and blowing up defenders in the run game. An easy Friday night that conveyed the complete spectrum of Semmel’s skillset. WR had no answer for this kid, as the senior also recorded multiple PBUs as well as a sack at LB.
180 total yards accumulated by Gavin Lutz Gavin Lutz 5’11” | 165 lbs | ATH Grove City | 2024 State PA in an easy Win over Northwestern HS. The stat line included nine catches, some rushing yards, as well three total scores. Still waiting on tape to release to see how Lutz is dominating defenses, I can get a gist of how he works based on previous write-ups. This young man continues to cement himself as one of the best in his area, talking about all-time. Hope he continues to perform well throughout his senior campaign.
What a night from Jamari Curlett Jamari Curlett ATH Cathedral Prep | 2024 State PA , who has to get off our Watchlist sooner rather than later, especially if he piles on performances like this one.
Three rushing attempts, 150 yards, two of those attempts going for scores. Tack on four receptions for 180 yards and an additional two scores, the young man was the embodiment of a playmaker all game long. Watching back the tape, Curlett pretty much accumulated all of his production on his own. Screen plays, reversing field on jet-sweeps, beating tackling angles by DBs thanks to his acceleration skills. If anyone on North East’s schedule wants to understand what Curlett is capable of, plug in this tape.
Three rushing touchdowns for South Fayette’s Nate Deanes Nate Deanes 5’9″ | 175 lbs | ATH South Fayette | 2024 State PA , a kid who I like at corner more than anything. The full skillset was needed and on display against West Allegheny. 136 yards on 17 attempts, with quality reps at DB I imagine as well. Plugging in the Week 0-1 tape on Deanes, you can witness his Week 0 performance on the ground that practically mirrors what he did against WA. He’s just under 300 yards, with six scores through two weeks. I might need to rethink the future projection on this senior. Yes, Deanes carries a slight frame, yet gets the job done at this level.
Four scores, 170+ yards on the ground for the Lancaster Catholic athlete who might be due for a ranking jump at some point down the line. Production came in a one-score win against Delone Catholic, all efforts out of Cunningham were needed, he came through. The DC tape highlights Cunningham’s ability to first hit the correct hole, then bounce outside once he reaches the second-level. Safe to say that no LB or DB wanted to tackle this kid in space, multiple tackles broken all throughout this tape. Rushing attempts that didn’t go for scores, Cunningham still made sure his presence was felt, barrelling through kids consistently.

Add Craggette’s name to the list of dominant performances on the ground. A couple yards shy of hitting the 200-yard mark, three touchdowns to boot, Craggette barely broke a sweat lending a hand to beat Ligonier Valley handedly. Craggette has put together two quality weeks, receiving an offer after Week 0 from Fairmount State should boost his confidence level. He keeps up this act and he’ll receive real top ten back consideration.

Happy to be writing on Noah Sanders Noah Sanders 5’9″ | 150 lbs | ATH Jeannette | 2024 State PA again. 260 yards from scrimmage in a win over EA. A pair of tunnel screens inside the ten yard line accounted for two of Noah’s scores, love how creative Jeannette can get with this young man. I’ve made it known how much I like this kid at WR and DB, yet having to carry the RB responsibilities for Jeannette is something Noah can provide. Although his scores came in red zone situations, Sanders popped off a ton of chunk plays for practically 30 yards a pop. I imagine the kid is putting in work on defense too.
Fitzpatrick’s Week 1 performance might not flash in terms of heavy stat numbers, yet four tackles, an interception, and two scores are definitely worth a mention. This is especially so after a Week 0 performance that had Fitzpatrick accumulating over 190 total yards and six tackles at DB. Hell of a two weeks put-on by the defensive back who could easily crack the top 20 at his position. The senior is proving he deserves to be regarded with some of the better athletes in the state. I didn’t think he had this much wiggle with the ball in his hands. Coaches are going to love the first-three game tape out of this young man.

The first junior on this list, one who ranks high in terms of positional group, yet an overall ranking jump could be due if he continues to produce the way he does. We like Bowen at TE, yet I might have to rethink this moving forward. Three sacks totaled through two weeks, 4 TFLs, Eddie Bowen Eddie Bowen 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Central Bucks South | 2025 State PA ‘s shown a clear improvement serving as the starting EDGE rusher at CB South. The sacks and TFLs are great, yet plugging in the tape, you’ll see consistent pressure coming from his side of the line. This penetration affects the game in more ways than one can quantify. Love what I’m seeing so far.

Not sure why more outlets aren’t talking about Chase Hatton Chase Hatton 5’10” | 185 lbs | ATH West Chester Rustin | 2025 State PA ‘s performance last week. A former camp standout, Hatton came up with four tackles and an interception from his safety spot. Flip to the other side of the ball and you’ll notice Hatton accumulated 230+ yards on the ground and through the air, scoring six total touchdowns. Love the authority and purpose this young man runs with. I didn’t expect to see such seasoned back play from this junior this early into his Fall campaign. Any team prepping against WC Rsutin better gameplan for Hatton. He keeps this up, he’ll rank as a top 100 prospect easily.

This performance came in a loss, yet I’m still willing to praise Carson Swartz Carson Swartz 5’10” | 160 lbs | WR Carlisle | 2024 State PA ‘s effort against Governor Mifflin. Swartz caught six balls this past weekend, yet made the most of each, eclipsing the 200-yard mark on said six receptions, two of which went for scores. Another opportunity and Swartz might’ve hit 300. It’s not often a player ranking in the 300s pops off like this. He’ll be in the back of my mind to jump on our ranks, so long as he can replicate this production.
