The class of 2024 has some talented quarterbacks, some of which are already committed to colleges.
Here is a breakdown of the quarterbacks who are ranked 10-6 on Prep Redzone’s top 15 quarterbacks in Orange County list.

Bento is a big guy who has good pocket awareness. He is always a threat to scramble and break off a big play to beat a blitz and it baffles me why teams don’t assign a spy to him on passing downs. He has good zip on the intermediate throws and can put air under the deep balls to give his receiver a chance. Sometimes he eyes down his primary target or looks to scramble even with little pressure, but he is a good athlete that can move the ball down the field effectively.
He had a good showing at the National Preps Showcase and was named a top five quarterback on the day. I expect a big year from Bento.

Singh was tough to place on this list because he is certainly worthy of being on the list but it is unclear how much he will play at JSerra this season. The Lions added Arizona State commit Michael Tollefson Michael Tollefson 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Tustin | 2025 State CA at quarterback, but Singh is too athletic and good at football not to at least run some packages at quarterback. His arm strength is underrated, he has great pocket awareness and is not afraid to take risks with the ball. He often hits his third or fourth option so you can’t disregard any receivers with him on the field.Singh led JSerra to a playoff win and a close loss against Mater Dei with an overmatched JSerra team. I don’t know what his role will be at JSerra this year, but he’s too good to not have on the field.

Hunter Najm Hunter Najm 6’2″ | 170 lbs | QB Aliso Niguel | 2024 State CA is one of those quarterbacks that is one of the top quarterbacks in the county when he is on his game.
Consistency is the key for Najm this year and Aliso Niguel’s success will largely depend on if he unlocks his excellent potential more often. There were a couple of games in which he played very poorly and the Wolverines lost one of those games (Fountain Valley), and Najm will be the first to admit that.
He has arm talent and throws one of the best deep balls in the county. He has the strength to fire it in there on shorter routes and could even take a little zip off the ball sometimes. Najm is a plus athlete who can break off a big run once in awhile.
Aliso Niguel’s skill players are better than they were last year so Najm should improve upon his completion percentage. He is a high upside pick and some colleges have shown interest.

Edward Ma Edward Ma 6’2″ | 180 lbs | QB Northwood | 2024 CA has a cannon of an arm and really impressed scouts at showcases this offseason. He also plays on the OC Elite passing team which is loaded with players from bigger schools.
On film, he does a great job being patient and waiting for plays to develop. There are multiple plays where the check down is available and he waits the extra half a second for a better route to develop. He has the arm strength to throw off-platform and use the far side of the field frequently.
Ma transferred to Northwood which is a better program than Woodbridge right now and will be in a balanced offense that will accentuate his strengths. He has an offer from Johns Hopkins and I expect him to get some more offers in the fall and winter.

Max Ruff Max Ruff 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB St. Margaret’s Episcopal | 2024 State CA was the MVP of the Prep Redzone Showcase in April and it was an easy pick by the coaches and scouts.
He has a quick release and can get the up the field with a flick of the wrist. He had great timing with the receivers at the showcase despite just meeting them and was always hitting them in stride.
On film, Ruff is not afraid to stand in the pocket and take a big hit. He also has the athleticism and pocket awareness to scramble and make something out of nothing. He makes the correct reads more often than not and puts the ball in the right place.
St. Margaret’s has a new coaching staff that is excited about him and will help unlock his potential. He has an offer from the University of Chicago.
