Jeremiah Peterson
Jeremiah Peterson
The 5’10, 210 lbs middle linebacker from Montini Catholic impressed in his first varsity season. Peterson held down the middle of the field for the Bronco defense in both the run game and the pass game. Peterson physicality sticks out immediately. He plays downhill and scrapes with speed to meet the ball carry in the hole. And once he does meet the ball carry, expect a big hit. Peterson drives through running backs and finishes on tackles well. He is a high effort player, often being first to the ball at both LB and on kick off. Peterson also showcases some impressive plays at running back and will be a force in his junior season.
The 5’9, 170 lbs pass catcher from St. Francis High in Wheaton is incredibly polished for a class of 2025 receiver. Last season on varsity, Willis dominated in a variety of ways from the slot. His polished route running and ability to make contested catches are next level. Willis is extremely shifty and stacks defensive backs with ease. He can adjust his body well with the ball in the air to make some highlight reel catches. Willis is also dangerous after the catch, as his quickness in the open field makes him tough to tackle. Willis rare combination of elusiveness and soft hands ensures this soon-to-be junior will rise up recruiting boards.
The Wheaton North product impressed in a variety of ways in his first varsity season. The class of 2025 Jung weighs in at 205 lbs and stands at 5’11. Jung has a nose for the football. He can fight through the wash with ease to meet the ball carry at the point of attack. Jung is a physical player in both block shedding and tackling. He also impresses in pass coverage. Whether it’s re-routing wide receivers or peeling off of blocks to make an open field tackle, Jung’s physicality translates to all facets of playing linebacker. Keep an eye out for Jung heading into his junior year.
Highlights
Jacob Jansey
Jacob Jansey
Jansey excelled at safety and on special teams for the Bulldogs in his sophomore season. The 6’1, 195 lbs Batavia product impressed with both his speed and physicality from the defensive backfield. He takes strong angles coming downhill in the run game and finishes with a powerful tackle. Jansey plays with a high motor, as his nose for the football allows him to be around the ball carry often. His most impressive asset is his ability to make tackles in the open field. It’s not an easy task for safeties, but Jansey’s closing speed and sharp angles put him in a position to succeed when tackling. As his coverage skills develop, Jansey his poised for a breakout junior season.
Godenschwager is a do-it-all safety for Downers Grove South. In his sophomore campaign, Godenschwager showed off range, ball skills, and physicality. He measures in at 5’11, 175 and plays much bigger. Starting in pass coverage, Godenschwager showcases the ability to play zone and man coverage. In zone coverage, he controlled the middle of the field with speed and sharp breaks between the hashes. In man, Godenschwager excelled with his technique and ball skills on 50/50 balls to the opposing wide receivers. In the run game, Godenschwager gets downhill with speed to make strong and physical tackles at or near the line of scrimmage. Heading into his junior season, Godenschwager stock is on the rise.
