It’s camp season in Oklahoma and Prep Redzone Oklahoma is traveling all over the state to see some of the top teams and players that are going to making plenty of noise this fall. Be sure to check back on the website for various camp reports and follow us on Twitter @PrepRedzoneOK to see where we’re going next! In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on the Rejoice Christian team camp. Who stood out, who emerged and much more! Check out our breakdown on standouts from Chandler, East Central, Locust Grove, Metro Christian, Nathan Hale, NOAH and Rejoice Christian.
Chandler 2024 quarterback Alec Jackson Alec Jackson 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB Chandler | 2024 State OK was one of the best, if not the best 2024 quarterback in attendance when we were watching on Tuesday morning. Jackson is incredibly athletic but he put his passing on display during the session that we watched him up close. And as the Lions were going up against teams with top pass rushers, Jackson was unfazed and did a really good job of getting the ball out quick and was very fast with his decision making. A big storyline with Chandler this fall will be how they replace the production of running back Casmen Hill, who had an outstanding career running the ball. But we believe that Jackson is going to end up producing at a very high level as a dual-threat quarterback in this Chandler offense. The Lions are going to be fun to watch once again.
NOAH 2024 defensive lineman Daniel Okoye Daniel Okoye 6’4″ | 225 lbs | DL NOAH | 2024 State OK is the top-ranked prospect in our 2024 rankings and he absolutely looked the part throughout the morning on Tuesday. As a defensive end, Okoye demanded that opponents put two, and sometimes three players on him to keep their quarterback up right and him out of the backfield. But what continues to impress us is Okoye’s ability to be the best athlete on the field. And that’s a terrifying fact when you see Okoye’s size in person. But on offense, Okoye would line up at wide receiver or a split out tight end and would beat linebackers and defensive backs while running post routes and once he gets the ball in his hands, good luck bringing him down. Okoye passes every eye test in the books and has solidified his spot as the top guy in the state for the 2024 class.
The NOAH football program has had plenty of attention over the last few months because of the recruitment of top overall prospect Daniel Okoye Daniel Okoye 6’4″ | 225 lbs | DL NOAH | 2024 State OK and rightfully so. But this is a talented NOAH team with plenty of dudes elsewhere and 2024 offensive lineman Ezra Ballinger Ezra Ballinger 6’5″ | 270 lbs | OL NOAH | 2024 State OK is a good example of that. Ballinger was arguably the best offensive lineman in attendance and it showed throughout the reps that he took at left tackle. We watched him at this exact team camp last year and the jump he’s made in the last 12 months is noticeable and he’s turned into an outstanding offensive lineman. He’s definitely in the conversation with the other top guys at his position in the state’s 2024 class. Ballinger has seen his recruitment begin to take off and that should just continue into the fall months.
Highlights
Nathan Hale 2025 offensive lineman Javion Antai Javion Antai 6’4″ | 300 lbs | OL Nathan Hale | 2025 State OK first got on our radar earlier this offseason after checking out what he was able to do during his sophomore season at Edison. Antai is very quickly becoming one of the top 2025 offensive lineman prospects in the Tulsa area and that power and ability was on full display during the morning we were in Owasso at Rejoice. Antai is a powerful left tackle that has quick feet and did a really good job of keeping his quarterback up right and giving him extra time to make a play down field. We really like what Nathan Hale has coming back and they could end up making quite a bit of noise this fall with athletes on both sides of the ball and a player like Antai anchoring the line of scrimmage. Antai was right there with Ballinger as a top offensive lineman.
We’re not quite sure what colleges are waiting for when it comes to Rejoice Christian 2024 wide receiver and safety Josh Hendricks Josh Hendricks 6’0″ | 175 lbs | ATH Rejoice Christian | 2024 State OK when it comes to his recruitment. We’ve watched Hendricks quite a bit over the last 18 months between his work with Rejoice Christian and then in the offseason with Sooner 7. Hendricks appears to be just another wide receiver that doesn’t blow you away with just the eye test. But we’ve seen it for 18 months now and time after time, Hendricks finds a way to beat his defender in a 1 on 1 situation and he did it again on Tuesday. On one play in particular, Hendricks beat his man on a go route and caught a perfectly thrown ball in the end zone. Hendricks beats his man more times than not and he can do it in a variety of ways. He checks the boxes with hands, speed and route running. He shouldn’t be flying under the radar anymore.
Highlights
We’ve written about East Central 2024 running back Larontae Clayton Larontae Clayton 6’1″ | 205 lbs | RB East Central | 2024 State OK a few times over the past year after watching his film last spring. But Tuesday was our first chance to see Clayton in person and he performed incredibly well. It looks like East Central is going to be somewhat raw up front on the line of scrimmage and there were a few times where Clayton had to make something happen out of the backfield. But we saw in person what we’ve seen on film in the past. Clayton does a really good job of absorbing contact and not just going down on the first hit. He’s an explosive runner and when he does get into the open field, he has the ability to turn a small play into a touchdown in the blink of an eye. We’ve mentioned that Clayton is underrated as a playmaker in the Tulsa area and that remains the case.
We wrote about Locust Grove 2026 quarterback Titan Hix Titan Hix 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB Locust Grove | 2026 State OK a little over a month ago after he earned MVP honors at the quarterback position at our camp in Broken Arrow. Now with his new team after moving from Hennessey, Hix showed exactly why he’s one of the top young quarterbacks in the state. Hix was leading the Locust Grove offense throughout the morning session and was impressing against a live rush. That was good to see compared to a camp setting where he’s able to fire the ball around without a pass rush. But on Tuesday, Hix had live bullets coming at him and if he wasn’t able to make the pass, he always has the backup option of tucking the ball and taking off down field. He put up monster numbers as a dual-threat quarterback last season with Hennessey and we anticipate another strong year this fall.
