Jackson was one of the state’s best quarterbacks during the 2023 season but had it end prematurely with a season-ending injury. Once Jackson gets healthy, he’s going to have the potential to be a game changer at the next level. Jackson is a very physical quarterback that is just as dangerous when he tucks and runs. There’s a lot of untapped athleticism in his game and we’re looking forward to seeing what he looks like when he’s healthy.

Jackson is once again one of the top quarterback prospects in the state’s 2024 class and he should get a few opportunities to play at the next level. Jackson and the Lions were going to be tough to beat in the Class 2A playoffs, which is always one of our favorite brackets. But despite the injury and the sad end to his season, Jackson is still one of the top prospects at the position. He is an outstanding athlete and has proven that time after time. We think that he’ll be able to come back stronger than ever.

Chandler is off to a 2-0 start but arguably their toughest game of the season comes on Friday when they hit the road and face 4A’s #2 Poteau. The Pirates are one of the best teams in their respective classes and they have been off to a great start this season. Last year, this was a match-up that was close throughout but Poteau would survive the upset scare with a 30-21 victory. Jackson is a true dual-threat quarterback that looks to do damage with his arm first but is just as dangerous when he tucks the ball and runs. He’s had a steady start to his senior campaign but he will be tested by a very aggressive Poteau defense. We were curious how this Chandler offense would look with no Casmen Hill at running back and Jackson has made sure there hasn’t been a step back.

Jackson has the ability to torch defenses with his arm and then turn around and beat them with his legs. He’s a fantastic athlete and that was apparent this past basketball season when he was jumping out of the gym on a number of occasions. We got a great chance to see Jackson in person this offseason while he was playing 7v7 with Sooner 7 and he has an absolute cannon for an arm. The Lions have certainly been a run-first offense with a star like Hill at the running back position. Now, Jackson has the opportunity to shine and make this offense his own. We think he will be in the conversation for top dual-threat quarterback in the state this fall.

And we think that this season is going to be a massive year for the Chandler standout on the football field. Over the last few seasons, a lot of the attention with the Chandler offense went to their star running back Casmen Hill. But with him graduating, it’s going to open up things for Jackson to be in complete control of the offensive side of the ball. We watched him several times this offseason throwing the ball in various 7v7 tournaments and it’s clear that the arm talent is there and he can put the ball in some very tight windows. But then we got a chance to watch Jackson not only on film with the pads on but during the team camp season in late May and early June and you see that athleticism. He can only do so much in a 7v7 setting but when the pads come on, it unlocks his ability to use that athleticism and physicality.

Jackson is incredibly athletic but he put his passing on display during the session that we watched him up close. And as the Lions were going up against teams with top pass rushers, Jackson was unfazed and did a really good job of getting the ball out quick and was very fast with his decision making. A big storyline with Chandler this fall will be how they replace the production of running back Casmen Hill, who had an outstanding career running the ball. But we believe that Jackson is going to end up producing at a very high level as a dual-threat quarterback in this Chandler offense. The Lions are going to be fun to watch once again.

Jackson is an outstanding athlete and that was clear earlier this year when he showcased that athleticism on the basketball floor. But Jackson is definitely a quarterback prospect that we’re keeping a close eye on. When it comes to the state’s 2024 class, the QB group seems deep but there’s also plenty of unknowns. For Jackson, the Chandler standout is having a good offseason and the 7v7 tournaments provide a perfect opportunity to watch Jackson strictly as a passer. We know what he can do athletically, Jackson has now shown that he has an absolute rocket launcher attached to his shoulder. That arm strength was on full display throughout the weekend.

Not only does he have size, but he tested incredibly well and then went into individual drills with plenty of momentum. Jackson feels like a prospect that is about to absolutely explode. But with Hill graduating, Jackson will have a much bigger role within the offense. Jackson is on the verge of a big season this fall and he got his offseason off to a great start on Saturday. He was one of many quarterbacks who shined throughout the day and ended up being one of the top performers at the quarterback position when you combine testing and drill work.
