The Prep Redzone Rising Prospect Tour came through Oklahoma on Sunday and top talent from the state and even some of the surrounding states came out and showed out throughout the three hours in Broken Arrow. It started with combine testing and then went into individual drills, followed by 1 on 1 competitions to wrap up the camp. And throughout the week, we’ll be putting a spotlight on some of the top performers at each position from Sunday’s camp. Our content begins now with the MVP selections from each position. It was hard to pin point just one player for some of these awards but these guys were the best of the best from start to finish.
There were a few quarterbacks that stood out and could absolutely spin it. But at the end of the day, Washington 2028 quarterback rose to the occasion of being the top performing quarterback. And like we said at the top, there were a few position groups where picking just one player to be the camp’s MVP was incredibly tough. Quarterback might have been the closest and more importantly, the deepest race for MVP. That immediately tells us that the future continues to be bright with quarterback play in Oklahoma. Barrett did a great job in the individual drills. He had good timing on his throws and his consistency remained the same even if he was on the run or just standing in the pocket. Then he flourished once again when the camp went into 1 on 1 competition. The camp on Sunday also featured a stiff wind coming from the north throughout and it didn’t matter if Barrett was throwing with or against the wind. He put the ball where it needed to be.

Mustang 2027 running back Taven Brown Taven Brown 6’1″ | 200 lbs | RB Mustang | 2027 State OK ended up walking away with the MVP award for the running back position on Sunday. A big reason Brown rose to the top of the position was what he did during the testing portion. Brown zoomed down the field during the 40-yard dash. He ran a 4.59 on his first attempt and a 4.62 on his second attempt and those were the two fastest times on Sunday. Brown then impressed his position coaches during the individual drills and when the camp broke into 1 on 1 competitions, Brown continued his strong performance on Sunday in Broken Arrow. He routinely beat linebackers in various pass routes and the future is very bright for this speedster. And what’s really impressive about the speed that Brown already has is the size to go along with it. He was probably the biggest prospect in the running back group and still had that top speed that separated him from the group on Sunday.

D’Andre Williamson

The wide receiver position was another group that was incredibly deep and the competition for the MVP award was intense from start to finish. Whenever we do these camps, the wide receiver group is usually always one of the deepest position groups and this weekend was no different. 2027 wide receiver D’Andre Williamson ended up bringing home the MVP award to Lawton for the wide receiver group. Williamson will be a freshman at Lawton Eisenhower this fall for former Sooner Javon Harris and the Eagles have quite a bit of young talent on their roster already. Williamson will add some immediate depth to that wide receiver position. Williamson ran crisp routes and found a way to separate from opposing defensive backs time after time. There were other receivers that had more size but the consistency of Williamson’s routes and hands put him above some of the guys that had him in the size department.
We had a good group of workers along the offensive line this weekend at the Prep Redzone Rising Prospect camp. And with former NFL offensive lineman JR Conrad from the “Trench Mafia” leading the group, this group got even better following the camp on Sunday. Coweta 2027 offensive lineman Hunter Reavis Hunter Reavis 6’0″ | 230 lbs | OL Coweta | 2027 State OK ended up winning the MVP award for the offensive line group. There were several prospects in contention throughout the morning and afternoon but Reavis really shined during the 1 on 1 portion of the camp. He won rep after rep and one thing that really stood out was his ability to receive the coaching and put it in his game on the next rep. Reavis already looks the part and as he continues to grow, he’s going to be a scary guy at the next level. Coweta was one of the top teams in Class 5A last season but they are hit hard by graduation. Having a lineman like Reavis joining the high school this fall could provide some much needed depth.
Highlights
Edmond 2027 defensive lineman was an absolute workhorse throughout the camp on Sunday. Tucker first caught our eye during the individual drills when prospects were working on the defensive side of the ball. While working with the defensive linemen, Tucker was always one of the best prospects in the various drills. And then when the camp went into the 1 on 1 portion of the camp, Tucker used those skills to get into the backfield time after time. Tucker was one of the smaller prospects in the group and it did not matter at all. Even against some of the biggest and best offensive linemen, Tucker found a way to get the job done time after time. Tucker is slated to go to Edmond Santa Fe this fall as a freshman. We’re looking forward to seeing his continued growth, both physically and with his overall skills on the field. Tucker will be a name to watch moving forward as both of those things happen.
It’s not an official award, but if we were giving out an “overall” MVP award for this weekend, it would probably go to Washington’s 2027 standout Case Alexander Case Alexander 6’2″ | 170 lbs | LB Washington | 2027 State OK after dominating at wide receiver and linebacker. Alexander is walking away with the MVP award for the linebacker position but he could have honestly been the pick for the wide receiver position as well. Alexander was one of the more known names in Oklahoma’s 2027 class heading into the camp and it didn’t take long for him to back up the hype. Alexander first started turning heads during the defensive portion of the camp. Alexander was without a doubt the best linebacker of the group. And then as the prospects moved to the offensive side of the ball, Alexander continued to shine and he was one of the top pass catchers in the camp. The future is incredibly bright for defending 2A state champion Washington with Alexander heading to high school this fall.
Our final MVP is another 2027 prospect coming up through Mustang with the last name Brown. While Taven Brown Taven Brown 6’1″ | 200 lbs | RB Mustang | 2027 State OK shined on offense at the running back position, Tucker Brown Tucker Brown ATH Mustang | 2027 OK shined brightest on defense as the defensive back MVP. Brown came into Sunday’s camp listed as a wide receiver but when he was taking reps on the defensive side of the ball, he stood out immediately. And just like we said with several other prospects here, everybody took reps on both sides of the ball because our middle schools camps are all about development at this stage. Brown first caught our eyes during the testing portion of the camp. He was one of the top performers in the agility drills as well as the broad jump. Brown then made some outstanding plays in 1 on 1 situations as a defensive back. The pure athleticism is clearly there for Brown to be one of the 2027 names we need to know about fairly early in his high school career.
