The Prep Redzone Prospect Tour came through Oklahoma on Sunday afternoon and top talent from the state came out and showed out throughout the three hours in Oklahoma. It started with combine testing and then went into individual drills, followed by 1 on 1 competitions to wrap up the camp. And throughout the week, we’ll be putting a spotlight on some of the top performers at each position from Sunday’s camp. In case you missed it, we announced the MVP winners for each position following the camp and we had a break down on each player. You can check that out RIGHT HERE. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on the running backs. While Felix Teal Felix Teal 5'9" | 180 lbs | RB Laverne | 2025 State OK ran away with the MVP award, we also saw a few running backs that stood out, especially in the 2025 class. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more positional breakdowns!
North Rock Creek 2025 standout Caleb Hawkins Caleb Hawkins 6’2″ | 205 lbs | ATH North Rock Creek | 2025 State OK is listed on our site as an “Athlete” and he came to our camp on Sunday listed as a defensive back and has found his way on to this breakdown as one of the top running backs at the event. The versatility that Hawkins has in his game has always been something that has stood out to us when evaluating him as a prospect. Not only is Hawkins versatile on the football field, he’s also an outstanding player for the basketball team. Hawkins was a prospect that caught our attention at our first camp back in January and then he came back and continued to dominate the camp scene on Sunday. As a running back, we really like what we saw from Hawkins with the ball in his hands. He has good size, quick feet and did a really good job while going through all of the drills for running backs. Hawkins moves incredibly well and when you combine that quickness, overall speed and his size, he could be a breakout star when it comes to his production on the field this fall. We’re keeping a close eye on him moving forward.
Highlights
Shawnee brought quite a few prospects to our camp in Broken Arrow on Sunday and one of the guys that stood out to our staff was 2025 running back Dace Shaw Dace Shaw 6’1″ | 170 lbs | ATH Shawnee | 2025 State OK after a complete performance from start to finish. Shaw immediately caught our eye during the testing portion as he had tested incredibly well in all four stations. Not only did he have that top end speed in the 40-yard dash, he also showed explosiveness in the broad jump and agility in the shuttle runs. Then when the camp broke down for individual drills, Shaw was right there with some of the best running backs in the state in terms of standing out in drills. Shaw really caught our eye during the pass protection drill where they were going 1 on 1 with linebackers, looking to improve their blocking. Shaw was able to showcase his ability to be very physical at the point of attack. Shaw has good size but he’s light on his feet. The Wolves struggled on the field in 2022 but they have quite a bit of talent coming back and it was on full display on Sunday. We like Shaw to help lead a big bounce back year this fall.
Highlights
Bartlesville 2025 running back PJ Wallace was a prospect we had circled coming into the camp on Sunday. He had a breakout season last year for the Bruins, where he became one of the top running backs in Class 6A-2 as a sophomore. Wallace backed up all of the hype as one of the top running backs in attendance on Sunday. The Bartlesville sophomore was right there with Teal in contention for the MVP award. Wallace tested incredibly well and it was good to see the mix of speed and agility for a prospect like Wallace, who has really good size as well. We’ve made no secret about how we view Wallace as a prospect moving forward. We think he’s one of the best running backs in the state’s 2025 class and the recruitment should start to take off the more he produces like he did last fall and so far this offseason. Wallace is so light on his feet and that allows him to move side to side incredibly well. Wallace runs like a shiftier back but has the size to be a power back. It goes without saying, go ahead and buy stock now on Wallace because the future is very bright.
