Players from all different positions across the state showed up and were able to display their talent in front of all the coaches and scouts including myself. I was fortunate enough to be looking at some of the quarterback, wide receivers, and defensive back talent found at the showcase. With that being said, I will be covering breakdowns on some of my personal picks for the top performing QB’s, WR’s, and DB’s at this year’s Kentucky Prospect Tour.
Baylor is a 2026 QB prospect from Boyle County who excels at making precision throws to his receivers in a quick amount of time. Murphy has an extremely quick throwing motion which can be thanks to his ability to tread lightly off his feet and using his lower half to drive momentum into his throws. Due to this, Baylor can make quicker, further, and harder bullet throws to his intended targets. I also like how smooth his overall throwing motion is as it is exactly what every QBs coach looks to teach in throwing fundamentals to their players. With a lot left in the tank for Baylor, I am excited to see what the future holds in store for him at Boyle County High School. The future is bright for the young QB.
Wick was one of the more physically aggressive prospects in the entire camp. The 2024 DB prospect from Bowling Green is skilled at keeping his ground when defending against the pass, and being able to accurately anticipate where the receiver is going to change directions on a given route. At the camp, Wick was able to show how effective he is at deflecting incoming passes and being able to get his hands towards the ball every time the receivers get ahold of the ball. No matter how accurate the throw is, Wick seems to always contest the reception to force a deflection or even a fumble. Like many other people have been saying about him, I think Wick is due for a big senior season at Bowling Green High School.

Aidan Burke Aidan Burke 6’0″ | 150 lbs | WR Belfry | 2026 KY was one of my favorite prospects to watch at the PRZ KY showcase. The 2026 wide receiver prospect seemed to be fully locked in the entire time, always finding ways to further develop his already talented play at his position. Aidan specializes at making solid sharp cuts and inherits quick lateral movements to enable him to make a change of direction at an instant. When receiving the ball, Burke has excellent hand placement on his catches which help him keep a hold on the ball and accelerate quicker to gain extra yards after the catch. Lastly, his athletic ability allows him to leap up high for high throws and be able to catch difficult throws away from his body. There is a lot in store for this young prospect.

Riley is another talented wide receiver prospect I enjoyed watching ball out at the camp. The 2025 prospect from LaRue County is equipped with a tall frame and good leaping ability to be able to come up with higher passes thrown to him. His route-running is fantastic as he can make sudden change of directions that fool the opposing DB on almost every 1v1 route. Furthermore, he uses his body to get in front of the pass even when it is away from his body. This allows him to make difficult catches even with defenders surrounding him. Another nice perk is his hand skills as he has a great grip on the ball to further help him make difficult catches not towards his chest. Watch out for Riley’s development at receiver these next 2 years at LaRue County!

Taking home the Kentucky Prep Redzone Prospect Tour DB MVP, Jaquon Coulter Jaquon Coulter 6’0″ | 150 lbs | ATH Taylor County | 2025 State KY showed how dominant he is at making defensive stops on opposing receivers. The 2025 DB prospect is terrific at imitating the movements of highly talented receivers, which is a great trait that most elite defensive backs have in their play arsenal. To add on to that, Jaquon has amazing ball-eye coordination to focus on getting the ball while keeping the same momentum as his receiver assignment. Along with that, he has great peripheral vision to anticipate where the QB is going to throw the ball to before the receiver makes a move. Another aspect I like about Coulter is that he possesses stellar hand coverage to deflect passes due to his ability to always lock onto his target. Jaquon is the perfect lockdown defensive back to look at as he still has 2 years of high school ball to look for when it comes to developing his already talented play. Really excited to see what is in store for Coulter.

Trey took home the Kentucky Prospect Tour’s wide receiver MVP and there are certainly great reasons for it. The 2025 receiver prospect inherited the best lateral movements & sharp jabs when route-running at the camp. His top-tier footwork and quick acceleration enable him to make sharp & effective jabs to easily create separation off the opposing DBs for easy receptions. When on deep routes, Cotton’s athleticism takes over as his high leaping ability and eye coordination help him smoothly grab the ball despite lots of contact from surrounding defenders. Along with his eye coordination is his footwork coordination when understanding where he needs to plant his foot when receiving passes with narrow ground. Even with the most difficult passes thrown to Cotton off 1v1 drills, he made all these receptions look much easier than they were. As a 2025 grad at the Christian Academy of Louisville, there is still a lot left in the tank for the young man. Trey’s future football career will continue to shine as he further develops into an elite receiver prospect.
Trevor Havill Trevor Havill 6’5″ | 190 lbs | QB Avon Old Farm | 2025 NewE absolutely balled out on his home turf for the Kentucky Prospect camp as it was held at St. Xavier High School. Trevor was named the camps QB MVP due to his incredible play. Trevor has the ability to precisely throw deep passes to his receivers. With a much taller & stronger frame than a lot of QB prospects in Kentucky, Trevor is amazing at opening his lower half to explode lots of power on his throws to be able to get far distance. Havill can throw fast missiles for 50+ yards without moving an inch out of the pocket. His throwing release mimics that of a catapult which helps him get a perfect snap to his throws. If needed to throw away from his body, Trevor can still get 40+ yards on the throw without having to add extra momentum from his lower half. His overall throwing power, passing accuracy, and field vision help him become recognized as one of the better known QB prospects in the state. Although he currently is committed to play D1 Lacrosse at Ohio State University, I have no doubt that he can play college football at a high level as well.
