This past weekend, we were on hand in Plano, Texas for the DR 7v7 event from start to finish. The only Oklahoma team in attendance in the high school divisions was Sooner 7’s program with two 18U teams and a 15U team. We caught every game from those squads and have spotlights on all of the top performers from the two days in north Texas. In this post, we’re taking a look at five of the top standouts we saw from the Sooner 7 15U team. And just a heads up, this is a Bixby-heavy spotlight. Check out the links below to read up on some of the other standouts from Sooner 7’s other teams down in Texas.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Bixby 2026 quarterback Carson Kirby Carson Kirby 5’11” | 185 lbs | QB Bixby | 2026 State OK is the first of three quarterbacks to make this breakdown feature. Kirby was outstanding for the Sooner 7 15U squad on Saturday and Sunday. Kirby has an absolute rocket arm and he can fire some strikes in to some pretty tight windows. He made some really impressive throws, especially down the field. One thing that we noticed on Saturday and early on Sunday was when Kirby was trying to work fast, his accuracy would go down and he would tend to put too much on his passes down field. But in one game with Sooner 7 trailing with about a minute to play, Kirby was clutch. He uncorked a perfect 40-yard touchdown pass to fellow 15U standout Mason James Mason James 5’11” | 155 lbs | WR Norman North | 2026 State OK and then tossed what would be the game-winning two-point conversion with no time left. It was great to see Kirby correct some things on the fly and play with complete composure down the stretch.
The Sooner 7 15U squad was the first team that we watched on Saturday and Bixby 2026 wide receiver Cetcher DeHart Cetcher DeHart 5’10” | 155 lbs | WR Bixby | 2026 State OK was the first prospect that really stood out to us. First off, he has the correct name to be a standout wide receiver and he caught just about everything that was thrown his way. DeHart is yet another Bixby standout that made waves this weekend. DeHart was an absolute monster after the catch. DeHart did almost all of his work in the short and intermediate passing game. After the catch, he was very slippery and would rack up the yards after the catch. We mentioned this same thing about Choctaw standout JuJu Smith JuJu Smith 5’8″ | ATH Choctaw | 2025 State OK in another report. This is 7v7 football where all the defender has to do is put their hand on you and you’re down. But DeHart identified all of the right angles on the field after the catch and would make a small play a big play. We’re looking forward to seeing more of the Bixby speedster this spring.
Highlights
It’s not very often that I write about prospects outside of Oklahoma. But it’s hard not to write about arguably the most physically impressive prospect we watched this weekend, regardless of divisions. Derby 2025 tight end DaSaahn Brame DaSaahn Brame 6’6″ | 230 lbs | TE Derby | 2025 State KS was the definition of a “cheat code” in the 15U division. Honestly, he could have played up in the 18U division and still be considered that. Brame, at 6’6, was an absolute match-up nightmare and he ended up being right there with DeHart as the leading candidate for receptions and might have been the runaway leader for touchdowns and conversions. Once Sooner 7 got near the end zone, the game plan became pretty simple. Throw it up and let Brame go get the ball. After reading up on Brame following the tournament, it sounds like he didn’t impact the passing game much as a receiver as a sophomore with Derby. We have a feeling that’s going to change in 2023.
Norman North 2026 standout Mason James Mason James 5’11” | 155 lbs | WR Norman North | 2026 State OK was already on our radar after having a breakout season as just a freshman. And over the weekend, we got another chance to see James in person and he was a standout on offense and defense. We mentioned earlier how James was on the receiving end of that “Hail Mary” pass from Kirby. That wasn’t the only big play that James made of the offensive side of the ball. But then he would turn around and play safety and was a standout there as well. James was a part of our initial rankings for the state’s 2026 class in early January and it feels like he’s already underrated and should be higher moving forward. James has a high IQ on the field and seems to always be in the right place at the right time. Whether it’s making plays on the offensive side of the ball or being a ball hawk on defense, James is going to be a playmaker within the state for a few years.

The final Bixby 2026 prospect to keep an eye on moving forward is wide receiver Trey McGlothlin Trey McGlothlin 6’2″ | 175 lbs | ATH Bixby | 2026 State OK and like DeHart, he was a new name that popped up on our radar after this past weekend. While DeHart was a “YAC” specialist and Brame was a mismatch nightmare because of his size, McGlothlin had a major impact in the big play category. McGlothlin came up with multiple big catches down the field, including what would be the equivalent of a “Hail Mary” pass down in the end zone as McGlothlin came down with the ball over three defenders and even a Sooner 7 teammate. McGlothlin was on fire in that department and he became one of the top targets in the passing game down the field. At 6’2 and with some pretty impressive hands, we’re definitely going to be keeping an eye on McGlothlin moving forward. He could be the next playmaker coming up in this machine that is the Bixby offense.
