The Stock Up Showcase series hit Broken Arrow on Saturday afternoon and nearly 150 prospects were on hand to get coached, get competition and get exposure. This was the fourth camp we’ve had in Oklahoma and they continue to get bigger and better. Prep Redzone Oklahoma will have articles and breakdowns throughout the next several days putting a spotlight on some of the best performers and prospects that we got a chance to see throughout the afternoon. Keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma for more coverage from the Stock Up Showcase camp. In this post, it’s all about the front seven on the defensive side of the ball. This is part two of two parts, combining the defensive linemen and linebackers. You can check out part one RIGHT HERE.
Taylor Sowers Taylor Sowers 5'10" | 175 lbs | LB Coweta | 2024 State OK – 2024 – LB – Coweta
Sowers is an athlete that could play some inside linebacker but looked the part of a nickel back in a 4-2-5 defense. Sowers showed good balance as he went through the drills along with footwork. The linebackers did a lot of drills that showed off read steps, balance, shuffling downhill, and pass drops. Sowers did a drill that worked on shuffling downhill to a burst, back to shuffle, and he read the backside hip well. He never over ran the hip which would have put him out of position for the ball carrier to cut back on him. Sowers had a good showcase, 1 on 1 reps versus running backs, and even ran the 40-yard dash in 4.63 seconds.
Rafe Tackitt Rafe Tackitt 6'3" | DL NOAH | 2024 State OK – 2024 – DE – NOAH
Tackitt now attends NOAH after playing for Oologah the past several seasons. He is in the 2024 class and will look to play defensive end for the Jaguars this upcoming season. Tackitt showed off throughout the showcase that he has a quick first step out on the edge. He displayed, several times, a quick second pass rush move in his 1 on 1 reps which allowed him to come off the edge and dip back underneath. He showed he has active hands to go along with good technique in his live pass rush reps. He looked good in individual drills and really tried to master what Coach Littlehead was teaching his guys.
Thomas Welch – 2026 – DL – Bishop McGuiness
Here is another 2026 guy that I enjoyed watching throughout the showcase. Welch went up against older competition time and time again and was not afraid to fight to get his reps. What stood out for me was that he was not shy to compete and was confident in his abilities. Welch got better as the day went on and showed he is a leader out on the field. He has good hips and knows where to place his hands on the offensive lineman. He fires off the ball with a good first move and finishes his rep with the second counter. As Welch keeps developing and getting reps, he will be someone to keep an eye out for years to come.
Ryan Wells Ryan Wells 5'11" | 240 lbs | OL Verdigris | 2024 State OK – 2024 – DL – Verdigris
What really impressed me about Wells was his motor. Wells in in the class of 2024 and he has some big shoes to fill this up coming season for the Cardinals. There were 18 seniors that graduated this season from a semi-final playoff team for the Cardinals. Wells starts for the Cardinals on the offensive line but looks to be a starter for them on defensive side of the ball this upcoming season. He showed some good reps in live competition with a quick first step by using a chop technique to get the offensive lineman’s hands off of him. Wells plays with a good base and showed he is quick off the ball. He looked good in individual drills and could flip his hips with ease.
