The latest 2024 rankings on Prep Redzone Oklahoma were released on Monday with the Top 125 for the state’s 2024 class. Throughout the week, we’ll be breaking down prospects throughout the rankings. From stock risers and newcomers to breakdowns by positions, it will be a busy week! So keep it locked in to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the week for more on the 2024 class. In this post, we’re putting a spotlight on five of the best quarterbacks in the state’s 2024 class. This does not include Chandler quarterback Alec Jackson Alec Jackson 6'3" | 200 lbs | QB Chandler | 2024 State OK , who was featured earlier this week in our Stock Risers feature. But for now, let’s take a look at some of the best signal callers in the state’s junior class.
The first of several quarterbacks on this breakdown that were in their first year under center is Heritage Hall’s Andy Bass Andy Bass 6’0″ | 195 lbs | ATH Heritage Hall | 2024 State OK . As we wrote plenty of times during the season, it seemed inevitable that Bass was going to be a breakout star for the Chargers when you heard how the Heritage Hall coaches talked about the junior. For those unfamiliar with the story, Bass had to sit out his sophomore season otherwise he probably would have started for Heritage Hall in 2021. And it was apparent to the coaches while Bass was just able to practice that he had the tools to be a special player for the Chargers. His performance in the state championship game was another eye-opener but we still want to see more of Bass as a passer. He’s an outstanding athlete, there’s no doubt about it but we want to see him continue to develop as a passer to take the next step as a quarterback prospect in the 2024 class.

Another first year starter that came into this season with some expectations was Jones QB1 Clayton Creasey Clayton Creasey 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Jones | 2024 State OK . He wasn’t stepping into an easy situation as he had to replace the best quarterback in the state’s 2022 class in Carson May. But Creasey had already proven he can not only produce on the field but he could do it at a high level. Creasey played different positions within the offense as a sophomore and then took over at quarterback as a junior. Creasey is also similar to Bass as he’s one of the more athletic quarterbacks in the state’s 2024 class. And just like with Bass, we want to continue to watch Creasey progress as a passer. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned when it comes to the Jones program, they can produce quarterbacks. And Creasey did produce at a high level as a junior. We’re looking forward to seeing what he does for an encore later on this fall.
Out of the five prospects on this breakdown, the only quarterback who has three years of starting experience is Garret Wilson Garret Wilson 6’2″ | 200 lbs | QB Oklahoma Christian | 2024 State OK out of Oklahoma Christian School. And when you look at this quarterback group in the 2024 class, Wilson is one of the more puzzling prospects on why his recruitment hasn’t taken off more considering the experience and production he has on the field. Probably the most impressive part of Wilson’s game right now is the progression he’s shown in the last three years. It goes back to the experience element as you litterally have three years of history to go and look at his growth as a quarterback. As a junior last fall, Wilson did a really good job of showcasing all of the different strengths to his game. He can throw from the pocket or on the run. He keeps his eyes down field and looks to pass first but he does have the athleticism to take off and run with it if he needs to.
The only other quarterback who was in his first year as a starter in 2022 is Lincoln Christian standout Luke Milligan Luke Milligan 6’2″ | 185 lbs | QB Lincoln Christian | 2024 State OK . And just like Creasey at Jones, Milligan was stepping into a role after Lincoln had to replace a D1 signee as Max Brown signed with Florida in the 2022 class. But just like the Jones situation, Milligan had a few things going for him. He got plenty of playing time as a sophomore in mop up duty of blowouts and he also had a very strong offseason of playing 7v7 and improving as a passer throughout the year. And Milligan was the next quarterback to come through this Lincoln Christian program that produces efficient and strong quarterbacks at a very high level. Milligan has already impressed us this month with his work at our camp and at a 7v7 tournament earlier in January. He has an incredibly strong arm and was putting pass after pass on an absolute rope.

And our final quarterback prospect in the state’s 2024 class is Bishop McGuinness signal caller River Warren River Warren 6’4″ | 195 lbs | QB Del City | 2024 State OK . The McGuinness QB is once again holding on to the top spot at the position. And based on what we saw from Warren in 2022, there’s a very good chance that he goes wire to wire as the state’s top quarterback prospect for the 2024 class. Warren appears to have just about every tool in the book as a quarterback. We checked out Warren and McGuinness a few times throughout the 2022 season and Warren did play very well within the offense. We’re going to keep a close eye on Warren as we head into the 2023 season. Bishop McGuinness will be replacing star running back Mike Taffe Mike Taffe 6’0″ | 190 lbs | RB Bishop McGuinness | 2023 State OK and Warren will have more of a role as a playmaker with the McGuinness offense. Warren’s ability to make just about every throw in the books is a big reason why he’s already being recruited.
