Stats: 13 Catches | 243 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnWe’ve had Noble wide receiver Brandon Harper Brandon Harper 5’10” | 165 lbs | WR Noble | 2023 State OK on these weekend features a few times over the last two months so maybe we shouldn’t be surprised by the production he has week in and week out. But once again, that’s where we’re at as Harper and the Bears handed Elgin their first loss in week seven and Elgin could not keep the ball out of Harper’s hands. He finished with 13 catches for nearly 250 yards and two touchdowns. He was also an impact player in special teams by returning kicks. Harper is making stat lines that read 10+ catches, 200+ yards and 2 touchdowns seem completely normal. He’s one of the most productive wide receivers in the state and his recruiting stock should continue to go up the more he produces like he did in week seven and has done several times this year.

Stats: 6-7 | 76 Yards | 21 Carries | 114 Yards | 5 Touchdowns rnRejoice Christian star quarterback Chance Wilson Chance Wilson 6’3″ | 185 lbs | QB Rejoice Christian | 2023 State OK has been on this feature more times than he hasn’t been but not this week. Instead, it was sophomore standout Cale Marley Cale Marley 5’9″ | 170 lbs | ATH Rejoice Christian | 2025 State OK filling in for Wilson when he went down with an injury early in their win over Vinita. Marley is the future of this Rejoice offense when Wilson graduates and the Eagle fans got a glimpse into the future and they have to like what they saw. Marley did almost all of his damage on the ground with a little over 100 yards rushing and five touchdowns on the night. He did throw the ball for 76 yards on 6-7 passing. Marley is a 2025 prospect that we really like when it comes to his versatility and there was no better example of that then having to come into the massive district game and lead his team to the win.

Stats: 19-22 | 308 Yards | 7 Touchdowns rnSapulpa quarterback Colton Howard Colton Howard 6’1″ | 195 lbs | QB Sapulpa | 2024 State OK continues to get better and better every time he steps out on to the field and he just had his best performance of his career a few nights ago as he rewrote the record book at Sapulpa. Howard finished with 308 yards and a school-record seven touchdown passes in their victory on Thursday night. Howard only had three incompletions as he showed he could not only hit the big play but he was incredibly accurate. We’re interested to see how Howard and the Chieftains finish down the stretch. They are in a brutal district in Class 5A that also features Coweta, McAlester and Del City. But the Chieftains might be able to fight and claw their way into the playoffs behind performances like we saw in week seven from their standout quarterback.
Stats: 19 Carries | 177 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 2 Catches | 41 Yards rnTwo weeks ago, we said that Union senior running back DJ McKinney DJ McKinney 6’0″ | RB Union | 2023 State OK was the midseason MVP in 6A-1 and he’s done nothing but backed that title up ever since. In fact, in the last two games since we made that proclamation, McKinney has eight touchdowns. And in their win over Mustang Thursday night, McKinney once again could not be stopped. He ran for nearly 200 yards and finished with four more rushing touchdowns. In the win, McKinney eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark on the season. He’s not finished and neither is the Union offense, and they were clicking on all cylinders Thursday night on the road in Mustang. All signs point to an eventual state championship match-up with powerhouse Bixby. There’s a lot of football between now and then but sign us up for that one if we get it.
Stats: 15 Carries | 221 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 6 Tackles | 1 Interception rnWith more injuries continuing to plague the two-time defending 6A-1 champs, it was time for one of their best playmakers to step up. And that’s what we saw on Friday night from senior standout Jalyn Stanford Jalyn Stanford 6’0″ | 180 lbs | DB Jenks | 2023 State OK , a Houston commit, as he played more running back on Friday than he has all season as injuries continued to disrupt the Jenks offense. Stanford showed that when he gets the football, good things usually happen as he went for over 200 yards and four touchdowns. Stanford’s focus this season has mainly been on defense at safety, and he had a good performance there as well, finishing with six tackles and an interception as the Trojans escaped Moore with a 49-41 victory. Jenks has tried to limit Stanford’s touches on offense to conserve his energy for defense, but it might be time to unleash him.
Stats: 19 Carries | 287 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 11 Tackles rnIt’s been an up and down season for Pauls Valley but they got everyone’s attention in week seven when they knocked off district foe Plainview 35-34. Granted, Plainview could have sent the game into overtime with a PAT but chose to go for the win on the 2PT conversion. But nonetheless, Pauls Valley got a marquee win and starring in the game was senior standout Justin Humphrey Justin Humphrey 6’2″ | ATH Pauls Valley | 2023 State OK . It seems like Humphrey has had performances like this every year for the past three seasons. And he picked a really good time to have his latest as he finished with nearly 300 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. He also added 11 tackles and several pass breakups on defense. Humphrey has been incredibly productive over the last few years and some college is going to get a very versatile athlete at the next level.
Stats: 18 Tackles | 6 Sacks rnEvery Thursday, we put a spotlight on five players to watch in some of the biggest games each week. And prior to the games in week seven, Verdigris senior linebacker Reese Roller Reese Roller 6’0″ | 210 lbs | LB Verdigris | 2023 State OK was on the list. The Cardinals needed to bounce back following an upset loss to Bristow and they had a tough Cascia Hall team coming to town. We mentioned in that post that you could expect some hitting and that Roller would play a big key to the outcome and it’s hard to argue that wasn’t spot on. He finished with nearly 20 tackles and an eye-popping six sacks on the night. Like we said on Thursday, Roller has been the most productive linebacker in Oklahoma over the last two and a half seasons and Thursday night’s performance was the perfect example of what we’ve been saying for months now.

Stats: 13 Carries | 120 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 13 Tackles | 3 Sacks | 1 Interception | 1 KR Touchdown rnArguably the most complete performance in all three phases of the game came from Luther junior standout Ruben Vega Ruben Vega 5’10” | ATH Luther | 2024 OK . Luther bounced back from a loss to Jones with a dominating win over Kellyville and there was no doubt about who the star of the night was. Vega would finish with 120 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. But that was just on offense. On defense, he also added 13 tackles, three sacks and one interception. Still not done. He had an impact in special teams by taking a kick back for his third total touchdown on the night. Luther is still alive for a home playoff game and with a little help, they could still play their way into the district title conversation. Vega’s complete performance on Friday should give them momentum going down the stretch.
Stats: 14-23 | 350 Yards | 5 Touchdowns | 11 Carries | 115 Yards | 3 Touchdown rnIt was a good week for Hennessey freshman quarterback Titan Hix Titan Hix 6’3″ | 210 lbs | QB Locust Grove | 2026 State OK . First off, he was on our 2026 watch list and featured in a special spotlight on freshmen quarterbacks around Oklahoma. Then Hix showed why he deserves to be considered one of the very best in Oklahoma as Hennessey rolled to a week seven win. Hix threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns and that would be good enough to make this list. But he also added 115 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Hix had a season opening performance similar to this and it immediately grabbed our attention. Remember this name because there’s going to be a lot of fun football between now and when Hix finally graduates in 2026. The young quarterback is determined to help lead Hennessey back to contention for state.

Stats: 24 Carries | 302 Yards | 4 Touchdowns | 1 Interception rnAt this point we’re losing track of how many times Muldrow senior running back Trenden Collins Trenden Collins 6’2″ | ATH Muldrow | 2023 State OK has made this weekend feature. But his performance on Thursday night has to be considered the best of his career as they took down previously unbeaten Stigler and he could not be stopped. Collins finished with just over 300 yards on the ground, his best performance so far this season and added four touchdowns and an interception on defense. Collins is already up to over 1,700 yards on the season and the Bulldogs have two more regular season games. He’s averaging over 200 yards per game so we could see Collins go over the 2,000 yard mark before the playoffs even get here. We have a week nine date with top-ranked Lincoln Christian circled on our calendars already.
Stats: 21 Carries | 214 Yards | 4 Touchdowns rnIn one of the best games of week seven, Carl Albert continued to torment district rival Bishop McGuinness as they scored with a little over a minute to play to win 31-24. And scoring what would be the game-winning touchdown was junior running back Xavier Robinson Xavier Robinson 6’2″ | 225 lbs | RB Carl Albert | 2024 State OK . That final touchdown was his last carry of the game and it also put him over 200 yards on the night. It was his fourth touchdown on the ground as the McGuinness defense could not contain Robinson on Friday night. Not only is Robinson a big and physical runner, he showed legitimate breakaway speed. Even when a defender caught up to him, they weren’t going to be strong enough to bring him down 1 on 1. Robinson now has 25 touchdowns on the ground for the season and he’s ready for more on Friday against Guthrie.
