Danville

The Ironmen are off to a 7-0 start including a 5-0 start in Heartland II play. Their offense has been phenomenal, as they're averaging over 48 points per game. The Ironmen's defense, however, is playing at a level that few defenses in the history of high school football in Pennsylvania have played before. Over their seven games this season, opposing offenses are averaging a mere four points per game. Out of those seven games, they have five shutouts, Loyalsock and Southern Columbia are the only teams to score, and they scored just 14 points a piece. The Ironmen should be considered a legitimate title contender this season.

Malvern Prep

The Friars are off to a 5-0 start and have had one of the tougher schedules you could imagine with wins over La Salle, Archbishop Wood, Imhotep Charter, Roman Catholic, and Delaware Military Academy. While their offense hasn't been overly explosive this season, their defense has been phenomenal, allowing just 16 points through five games. There's a strong chance they're undefeated heading into the playoffs this season. They'll finally enter their conference schedule next week against William Penn Charter.

Jersey Shore

Not many offenses have been better than Jersey Shore this season; 55, 70, 63, 49, 63, 65, 62. That has been their points scored per game this season. Just a phenomenal offensive output week in and week out. Oh, and their defense isn't too shabby too, they've allowed under 10 points per game this season. They haven't had a terribly hard schedule this season but it is extremely difficult to be that strong on both sides of the ball week in and week out. The Bulldogs have done just that through seven weeks. They're an AAAA contender as the postseason grows near.

Penn Cambria

The anthers are off to a 7-0 start and have a huge matchup against Richland set for next week. The Panthers have done it on both sides of the ball, averaging 41 points offensively and allowing under 20 points a game defensively. The Panthers defeated Bedford two weeks ago in a pivotal matchup of 5-0 teams and now they'll look to get the upper hand on Richland, who just defeated Bedford themselves.
