4.0 GPA. Kiersch is racking up production and quality tape despite not finishing many games because of scores getting out of hand. 6’0, 218 pounds. We don’t have to dive into how much of a fan I am of Kiersch, it’s well established, both in terms of prior pieces and in terms of current ranking.
Kiersch has brought forth one of the more interesting recruiting stories that I’ve covered here at PRZ. The young man has proven his specialties for 3+ years now, I had him as an early FBS-offerable kid years ago. Things were slow out of the gate. Today, however, Kiersch has garned attention in the form of offers from D3s, D2s, FCS programs, even from Temple. Ithaca, St. Anselm, and Gannon all extended O’s to Kiersch, with the lone FCS program stamping Kiersch being Saint Francis. This all makes good sense. Although I believe Kiersch to be worthy of a Temple offer, the timing of it does seem to be a bit strange. This is a kid Temple should have offered months, if not, years ago. Hopefully the Merrimack’s and LIU’s of the world key in on Kiersch, I think he’d be a phenomenal fit at those locations, so long as they are in need of a backer.

A backer who was once inside the top three at his position. Danville’s Cam Kiersch is still a Top 50/75 talent in this class regardless of how other backers are performing. I’ll stand on the Top 100 being this young man’s floor, any lower might be doing his tape a disservice. Nearly 150 total tackles on the year, 11 of which were for a loss, phenomenal reps in pass coverage I might add. The first backer on my list without an offer. Kiersch isn’t without serious interest of course, testing numbers and competition level might deter some potential courters. I am one who doesn’t need much convincing, however, this kid is easily a Top Five backer talent in another class. Two-way skills like Peters Township’s

, Kiersch divided his Hudl film into Coverage/Off/Def tapes. Usually prefer your best plays packaged into one cohesive tape, yet I applaud his attempt to showcase his complete skillset. Will be a four-year starter, love how his skills translate to next-level Weak-side backer. Kiersch has some reps on tape playing at the LOS, stationing as your traditional WILL backer who can chase down plays and hunt using speed and pursuit skills. Kiersch is leaner than most on this list, so athleticism, lateral quickness, coverage skills are going to need to be proficient. They are, his tape shows it. Kiersch can still plug gaps and make noise with his pads, this is hardly a passive football player. His aggressiveness in the trenches, his reluctance to hesitate between the tackles will likely end up pleasing his future coaches.

Question: Can he win MVP among the best LB group present?
The margin between Kiersch and the top five is slim. I wake up and contemplate moving Kiersch anywhere from the 2 to 12 spot on our lists, it can be that volatile. One thing’s for certain, this young man is one of the best prospects in his state regardless of class or position. A program recruiting him will immediately bolster their program by adding the junior Danville backer. The question above is almost silly, there isn’t a backer in the state Kiersch can’t perform well beside. In fact, he’s my favorite to set the standard again, he does so every time he attends an event.

Kiersch may not be the most athletically gifted linebacker but he’s a fundamentally sound linebacker and still a good athlete. He’s one of our top prospects in the state and believe he easily has potential to play at the Group of Five or Power five level. Good size at 6-foot-1 and 205-pounds, moves very well laterally, great football IQ and read-and-reaction skills.
“Kiersch has been to multiple StockUp Showcases and continues to impress each and every time. He’s simply one of the most fundamentally sound linebackers in the state. He measured in at the showcase at 5-foot-11.5 and 213 pounds, a solid size overall. The junior linebacker possesses quality athleticism and should be able to improve on that end as well once he gets to a college campus. Kiersch has three-down linebacker potential, he shows a strong ability to play downhill against the run but can also play coverage against tight ends if needed.”

is taking. I caught wind of the kid at our Winter camp this time last year. I thought the kid had the potential to be a top linebacker in the state based on how he tested and moved live. We were cautious in his ranking, waiting to see the work bear fruit on the field. It certainly did. Kiersch now lands as the second-ranked linebacker after

. Huge praise from me to Kiersch, as well as to Danville for developing this young man in the weight room. I had the chance to see the sophomore last Fall where I was pleased to see him bulk up and fit into his pads. He’s an easy 6’1, 205 now, with plenty of potential to continue growing. Plug in the tape and see how he moves laterally. You can see how he sniffs out plays before they begin. You get the sense that Kiersch is a seasoned veteran at linebacker when he’s actually far from that. Kiersch is far from his ceiling at Danville. I’m happy to see the Cameron blossom into an elite prospect.

Much like Cornell, Kiersch was a highly productive linebacker as a freshman which is always impressive. Last season, he had 72 tackles and four interceptions. He has a good physical size so far at 6-foot-0 and 195-pounds, as long as he continues to grow he’ll be among the top linebackers in the state. Quality athlete with good straight-line speed and the agility that allows him to chase down ball carriers. Much like his 2023 counterpart Mason Raup Mason Raup 6'0" | 210 lbs | LB Danville | 2023 State PA , Kiersch may not be the most physically gifted linebacker but he’s a quality athlete and has great fundamentals and football IQ.
