DeGraaf’s recruiting stock has been steadily rising since transferring to Glendora last year pulling in offers from Oregon State, Washington, ASU, and Washington State over the summer and recently adding Hawaii and Arizona during his junior season. He’s got great versatility that can operate out of the slot or as an inline TE that is equally effective as a blocker in the run game as he is as a receiver. Flashes good all-around game speed, he’s a strider with good leg drive and initial quickness/burst out of stance. As a route runner, he’s smooth in/out of his cuts with the ability to drop his hip level and accelerate out of his breaks to create separation. Great concentration and ability to adjust to the ball in the air. A lot to like about his skillset and should see him climb rankings and recruiting boards as he progresses.
Highlights
Wide skillset for the 6’3” 225 lb. two-way playmaker at TE and DE with a seven foot wingspan. Possesses a strong build with good weight distribution and growth potential as he develops. He’s a natural football player with good instincts and awareness no matter where he lines up. A plus athlete that can run and redirect using his acceleration and lateral quickness. Plays a fast and physical brand that is powerful at the contact point and always attacking. He’s a competitor and high effort player that finishes every play through the whistle. Capable of playing either side of the ball at the college level depending on need, scheme, and future development. High ceiling prospect that holds offers from Washington State and San Jose State.
Really impressive skillset for the under recruited 6’3” 215 lb. flex TE out of Centennial HS, Bakersfield. Possesses the size and length of a college level TE but the athleticism and speed of a WR. He’s an advanced route runner that is creative and does a great job setting up his routes with a series of stems and nods to establish positional leverage. A natural pass catcher that extends and catches everything away from his body. He attacks the ball in the air being strong at the catch point with a great ability to come down with tough contested receptions in traffic. Great release move off the line to avoid contact. Shows an accelerated burst and good overall speed/elusiveness after the catch to make defenders miss in the open field. This season, he’s pulled in 43 catches for almost 900 yards and 11 touchdowns. San Jose State was the first to offer in April but recruiting could skyrocket at any moment with his size, talent, and ability.
