Mr. Scianna balled out Friday night showcasing why he’s the #2 LB in the State for the Class of 2023. His ability to trigger downhill quickly in close space to meet the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage and disrupt plays in the backfield is second to none. There was an array of talent on the defensive side of the ball for the Griffins but his impact was felt on each play. If you try to run outside the tackle he can cover sideline to sideline not allowing the ball carrier to cut upfield. Safe to say Lincoln-Way East is happy to have Jake “The Razor” Scianna holding down their mike linebacker position. Most recently picked up offers from the University of St. Thomas and Western Illinois University. Wherever Mr. Scianna takes his talent to the next level, he’s going to make his mark and will be a great addition to any team. Twitter

Mr. Cook took over the X receiver role as Standout 22′ Jack Tremblay headed to Central Michigan University. His ability to go up for 50/50 balls securing contested catches is one to keep an eye on. Throughout the night he did just that by playing above the rim and in one instance he broke the grab tackle and got into the endzone for six. There was another play where he did the same thing on the deep shot downfield but the touchdown was called back by a penalty in the backfield. Needless to say, you need to be careful if you’re going to play one-on-one coverage with Mr. Cook as he has the ability to make you pay. Go check out his touchdown clip below! Twitter

Mr. Ritter was on a mission this Friday night holding down the C gap and perimeter securing open field tackles on a consistent basis. Working as a “rover” type of player, he uses his closing ability to meet the ball carrier at the line of scrimmage when he’s lined up in the box. This young man also limits the chances of the opposing halfback to turn the corner using his range to secure the tackle on the perimeter. Currently holds an offer from the University of St. Thomas and Grand Valley State University to name a few as well as interest from other schools as well. Twitter
Mr. Tischer is here to make his mark as a dual-threat quarterback this fall season. He took the RPO himself for a 58-yard TD as he outran 2nd level defenders. This young man also does a good job adding touch on the ball lofting the ball over the defender’s head for the completion. What’s impressive is his ability to stand strong in the pocket getting the ball off right as a defender is in his face for the completion downfield. This was seen when he was making level 1, level 2, and level 3 throws to keep the chains moving. Currently holds no offers. Twitter

rnMr. Janowski is our #1 OL for the Class of 2024 and he showcased why that is Friday night. His ability to use his quick punch to jolt defenders upright when blocking in-line is one to watch. In pass protection, he gets set to block quickly and can either absorb the bull rush or tie up the swim move by getting his hands inside with a quick punch. What’s also impressive about this young man is how he can work either as an OC or an OG and not miss a step with the impact he’ll bring to the O-Line. Currently, he holds 3 MAC Offers and I expect more to come his way once this season is concluded. Another high potential young man the Griffins have. Twitter

It was my first time Mr. O’Rourke LIVE in action and my oh my he put on quite the performance. Throughout the whole night he and David Wuske were menaces in run support plugging gaps giving the opposing ball carrier no alleys to hit. This young man is able to do so by being quick off the ball and aggressive at the point of attack. He also had one of the most impressive plays I’ve seen from such a young DE as well. The clip is below for your viewing where he finds the tipped pass and is able to secure it for an interception. Not only does he come away with the pick, he then showcases his foot quicks getting into the endzone for six. Currently holds an early offer from Akron University and I expect a lot more interest to come his way after this fall season. High potential young man. Twitter

David Wuske
Mr. Wuske is another new name to me this fall season that was a menace during Friday night’s matchup. His ability to plug gaps in run support and slip blocks to disrupt plays in the backfield was impressive to say the least. What stands out to me the most about this young man is how he continues to work through the whistle no matter what. There were countless plays, like the one below, where initially he wouldn’t get through into the backfield. By continuing to work through the whistle he was able to generate pressure on the opposing QB on more than one occasion and flush him out of the pocket to make a throw under duress. The tandem that the Griffin’s have in their front seven, I believe, can go head to head with any team in the state. Currently holds no offers. Twitter
Mr. Serauskis is an up-and-coming young man for the Griffins that has his best ball ahead of him. Working out of the slot this fall, he can create mismatches against outside linebackers as well as nickel corners. He does so by being quick in/out of his breaks at the top of his routes and using his 4.47 40 speed to close space on the defender playing in off coverage. What was impressive about his route running on the TD he scored was how he was able to slightly gain inside leverage against the linebacker which was just enough to create a window for his QB to hit him in stride for six. Currently, he holds no offers but I would keep a close eye on this young man for the rest of this fall season. Twitter
