It wouldn't be preview season without taking a look at the best league in the nation, the Trinity League.

Mater Dei and St. John Bosco are two of the top teams in the nation and this is the most competitive league you will find anywhere.

Here is a look at the teams and players to watch in the Trinity League.

JSERRA

Top players: [player_tooltip player_id='25454' first='David' last='Tuliau'], OL/DL, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='943035' first='Zander' last='Singh'], QB, Jr.; Josh Jornadal, WR, Sr.; Kainoa Tausaga Davis, OL/DL, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='282706' first='Jake' last='Flores'], RT, So.

Outlook: JSerra has gone winless in Trinity League play the last two seasons and it will be tough to find a league win again this year. The Lions are improved from last season and have some stability at quarterback in [player_tooltip player_id='943035' first='Zander' last='Singh'] who the coaching staff has been high on for awhile. [player_tooltip player_id='25454' first='David' last='Tuliau'] leads an offensive line with Kainoa Tausaga Davis and [player_tooltip player_id='282706' first='Jake' last='Flores']. Flores is a 6-foot-6 sophomore with offers from Arizona, Oregon and Ole Miss among others. Running back will be by committee but Jared Referente is expected to get the lion's share of carries. Josh Jornadal is a receiver who is back for the Lions and [player_tooltip player_id='406653' first='Logan' last='Christensen'] is a sophomore JSerra is high on. The defense gave up 40 points per game but has 10 returners on that side of the ball so they may improve in that regard. JSerra is on the right track but it's tough to find wins in this schedule.

https://twitter.com/SouthOCsports/status/1557158416501522433?s=20u0026t=3am_Bw6cmGGTYNCvfeIwUA

MATER DEI

Top players: [player_tooltip player_id='147708' first='Elijah' last='Brown'], QB, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='25447' first='Levi' last='Sua'], LB, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='147719' first='DeAndre' last='Carter'], OL, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='147730' first='Brandon' last='Baker'], OL, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='115462' first='Ajon' last='Bryant'], RB, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='115434' first='Aydin' last='Breland'], DT, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='115472' first='Jack' last='Ressler'], WR, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='282776' first='Sione' last='Tohi'], OL, Soph.

Outlook: Many news outlets have Mater Dei losing to St. John Bosco and being a second place team this year. They have won 17 consecutive games and I will not pick against them until they lose. [player_tooltip player_id='147708' first='Elijah' last='Brown'] is back at quarterback and has never lost a game as a starter. [player_tooltip player_id='115472' first='Jack' last='Ressler'], Jordan Onovughe and Texas commit [player_tooltip player_id='145241' first='Spencer' last='Shannon'] will be his top targets. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='282711' first='Marcus' last='Harris'] has been making a lot of waves this offseason at receiver as well. The running backs will be [player_tooltip player_id='115462' first='Ajon' last='Bryant'] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='282698' first='Jordon' last='Davison']. The offensive line is outstanding with [player_tooltip player_id='147730' first='Brandon' last='Baker'] and [player_tooltip player_id='147719' first='DeAndre' last='Carter'] at tackles, [player_tooltip player_id='282776' first='Sione' last='Tohi'] at guard and [player_tooltip player_id='25453' first='BJ' last='Tolo'] at center. Mater Dei has the best offensive line in the state which gives them a leg up over Bosco. [player_tooltip player_id='25447' first='Levi' last='Sua'] leads a defense with [player_tooltip player_id='147715' first='Zabien' last='Brown'] leading the secondary. They will miss [player_tooltip player_id='195568' first='Tanner' last='Williams'], who had season ending knee surgery, but [player_tooltip player_id='115435' first='Kaho' last='Tuihalamaka'], [player_tooltip player_id='115434' first='Aydin' last='Breland'], [player_tooltip player_id='147757' first='Zeus' last='Venegas'] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='282774' first='Nasir' last='Wyatt'] can rush the passer. [player_tooltip player_id='282700' first='Daryus' last='Dixson'] and [player_tooltip player_id='282734' first='Chuck' last='McDonald III'] are young defensive backs that Mater Dei will rely on along with transfer [player_tooltip player_id='115428' first='Khristian' last='Dunbar-Hawkins']. I still think Mater Dei is the best team in the nation and will not pick against them.

https://twitter.com/MDFootball/status/1558838784162430976?s=20u0026t=3am_Bw6cmGGTYNCvfeIwUA

ORANGE LUTHERAN

Top players: [player_tooltip player_id='261807' first='Gabe' last='Morin'], LB/RB, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='282728' first='TJ' last='Lateef'], QB, So.; Nathan Hale, LT, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='270838' first='Kaleb' last='Marshall'], WR, Sr.; Jireh Moe, DL, So.; [player_tooltip player_id='282779' first='Jojo' last='Edwards'], LB, Soph.

Outlook: Orange Lutheran won the Division 2 championship last season but was the fifth place team in this league and lost a lot of talent. The defense gave up a lot of points last season, but returns two excellent linebackers in [player_tooltip player_id='261807' first='Gabe' last='Morin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='282779' first='Jojo' last='Edwards']. They added Deuce Frierson, a transfer from Mission Viejo who should help. [player_tooltip player_id='384870' first='Manaia' last='Ala'] and Noah Rodriguez are two guys in the secondary I like for Orange Lutheran. [player_tooltip player_id='282728' first='TJ' last='Lateef'] is a very promising sophomore quarterback who will likely start over [player_tooltip player_id='406660' first='John' last='Gazzaniga']. [player_tooltip player_id='270838' first='Kaleb' last='Marshall'] is expected to be a bigger part of the offense at receiver and Conrad Hernandez is a receiver the coaching staff is high on. Orange Lutheran is a mystery but is still a strong contender to get fourth place in this league.

https://twitter.com/OLuFootball/status/1558084931275829248?s=20u0026t=3am_Bw6cmGGTYNCvfeIwUA

SANTA MARGARITA

Top players: [player_tooltip player_id='25428' first='Jaxon' last='Potter'], QB, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='115420' first='Emmett' last='Mosley'], WR/DB, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='190355' first='Niko' last='Lopez'], WR, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='270899' first='Donovan' last='Comestro'], CB, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='145203' first='Jalani' last='Liva'], OL, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='147756' first='Levar' last='Talley'], DL, Jr.; [player_tooltip player_id='282745' first='Tyler' last='Parker'], DL, Soph.

Outlook: Santa Margarita won the offseason transfer competition in Southern California. They added two Servite stars in [player_tooltip player_id='115437' first='Gage' last='Burnett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='115420' first='Emmett' last='Mosley'], Fairmont Prep defensive end and Michigan commit [player_tooltip player_id='383955' first='Collins' last='Acheampong'] and freshman [player_tooltip player_id='283690' first='Trent' last='Mosley']. [player_tooltip player_id='25428' first='Jaxon' last='Potter'] returns at quarterback with Colorado State commit [player_tooltip player_id='190355' first='Niko' last='Lopez'] at receiver and Mosely who has been a stud on both sides of the ball this offseason. [player_tooltip player_id='195538' first='Bain' last='Eiseman'] is a receiver I am really high on and I like the running backs [player_tooltip player_id='262084' first='Jake' last='Foye'] and [player_tooltip player_id='282778' first='Taurian' last='Nash']. The defensive line is a strong point of this team with [player_tooltip player_id='147756' first='Levar' last='Talley'], [player_tooltip player_id='282745' first='Tyler' last='Parker'], [player_tooltip player_id='115437' first='Gage' last='Burnett'] and [player_tooltip player_id='384902' first='Nicholas' last='Johnson']. [player_tooltip player_id='270899' first='Donovan' last='Comestro'], [player_tooltip player_id='167964' first='Ben' last='Durham'] and Blake Wilson lead the secondary that will also feature young guys Josh Tucek and [player_tooltip player_id='282775' first='LaRue' last='Zamorano']. The offensive line is the weak point of this team but [player_tooltip player_id='145203' first='Jalani' last='Liva'] is a returning All-League player up front and Simeon Maiava is a three-star offensive line prospect. Santa Margarita is much-improved, a shoe-in for the Division 1 playoffs but may not be able to hang with Mater Dei and St. John Bosco in the trenches.

https://twitter.com/SMCHS_Football/status/1520113910233272320?s=20u0026t=3am_Bw6cmGGTYNCvfeIwUA

SERVITE

Top players: [player_tooltip player_id='25449' first='Kitione' last='Talavou'], DE, Sr.; Ethan Scaffidi, WR, Sr.; Oskar Madrigal, OL/DL, Sr.; [player_tooltip player_id='261778' first='Connor' last='Panapa'], DL, Sr.; Quiad Carr, RB, So.

Outlook: Servite graduated more Power 5 players than any team in the state. The Friars are in full rebuild mode but have a few returning players that can hang with anybody. [player_tooltip player_id='25449' first='Kitione' last='Talavou'] is one of the best defensive linemen in the league and Ethan Scaffidi is a very good athlete. Oskar Madrigal is an All-League offensive lineman and [player_tooltip player_id='261778' first='Connor' last='Panapa'] is a transfer from Culver City who should help out on the defensive line. Julian Puche is expected to be the starting quarterback with some promising receivers like Quinn Rosenkranz, Jaxon Hughes and [player_tooltip player_id='270921' first='Ethan' last='Naudin']. This is the most loaded Braves team I've seen in a few years. Louisville commit [player_tooltip player_id='25367' first='Pierce' last='Clarkson'] leads this team and recruited a few other Louisville commits to come to Bosco: [player_tooltip player_id='190270' first='DeAndre' last='Moore'], [player_tooltip player_id='25459' first='Aaron' last='Williams']. [player_tooltip player_id='25410' first='Jahlil' last='McClain'] and Moore will be the team's top two receivers along with tight end [player_tooltip player_id='25456' first='Matayo' last='Uiagalelei']. Centennial transfer [player_tooltip player_id='145191' first='Deven' last='Bryant'] will lead the backfield along with [player_tooltip player_id='115464' first='Chauncey' last='Sylvester'] and [player_tooltip player_id='147723' first='Khalil' last='Warren']. The secondary is loaded with [player_tooltip player_id='115433' first='Peyton' last='Woodyard'] leading the unit of [player_tooltip player_id='145132' first='Ty' last='Lee'], [player_tooltip player_id='25395' first='RJ' last='Jones'], [player_tooltip player_id='25380' first='Jshawn' last='Frausto-Ramos'], Williams and [player_tooltip player_id='145239' first='Hunter' last='Nowell']. [player_tooltip player_id='145191' first='Deven' last='Bryant'] is a good linebacker along with [player_tooltip player_id='115443' first='Kyngstonn' last='Viliamu-Asa'] who is returning from injury. They aren't as good as Mater Dei up front, but with [player_tooltip player_id='261803' first='Sean' last='Haney'], [player_tooltip player_id='145230' first='Mosiah' last='Talanoa'] and [player_tooltip player_id='25417' first='Sean' last='Na'a'] up front with sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='282718' first='Matai' last='Jefferson'], Bosco is still very good in the trenches. They added [player_tooltip player_id='145257' first='Vaka' last='Hansen'] recently to help the defensive line along with Washington commit [player_tooltip player_id='145205' first='Sua' last='Lefotu']. Bosco has the talent to beat Mater Dei on paper, but the game isn't played on paper.

https://twitter.com/SBLiveCA/status/1559359515467866116?s=20u0026t=3am_Bw6cmGGTYNCvfeIwUA

Huntley's Predicted Order of Finish:

Mater Dei (10-0, 5-0)

St. John Bosco (9-1, 4-1)

Santa Margarita (8-2, 3-2)

Orange Lutheran (6-4, 2-3)

Servite (4-6, 1-4)

JSerra (3-7, 0-5)

It wouldn't be preview season without taking a look at the best league in the nation, the Trinity League.
