It’s the month of June and we’re inching closer to the start of the 2022 football season. This month, we’re updating and upgrading our prospect rankings across the site. This week, it’s all about the 2025 class as the breakout freshmen from last season now become sophomores this fall. In case you missed our complete ranking update, you can check out the 2025 Top 50 Right Here! Throughout the week, we’ll take a look at different position groups, as well as some of the other standouts inside and just outside of this recent ranking update. Stay tuned to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the month of June for more ranking updates, along with a ton of prospect breakdowns. In this post, we turn our attention to the wide receivers in the 2025 class. There were five wideouts that earned spots on the last ranking update and we break them down here.
Trey Washington

Carl Albert | 2025
State
OK
– Carl Albert
(Ranked #6 Overall – #1 WR)
Whenever a coach compares a kid to current Bixby star Luke Hasz Luke Hasz 6'4" | TE Bixby | 2023 State OK , you pay attention to who that kid is. That’s exactly what we have here with Carl Albert’s Trey Washington Trey Washington 6'3" | WR Carl Albert | 2025 State OK . He came in at #6 overall and the obvious choice for the top spot among wide receivers. After being the second leading receiver for the Titans as a freshman, the Titan coaches are expecting him to take his game to the next level as a sophomore. Look for the Titans to use Washington as the ultimate weapon in the red zone. Using his 6’4 frame against undersized DB’s will allow jump ball opportunities for Washington to come down with. Hasz’s sophomore year was his springboard to becoming a national prospect. Perhaps we see that this fall with Washington. We’re not waiting, buy stock now.
Elijah Thomas

Checotah | 2025
State
OK
– Checotah
(Ranked #22 Overall – #2 WR)
Checotah had one of the top running backs in Oklahoma last year with Dontierre Fisher. However, the Wildcats had legit weapons all over their offense and one that has them excited about the future is wide receiver Elijah Thomas Elijah Thomas 6'0" | WR Checotah | 2025 State OK . The freshman wide receiver was a big play waiting to happen every time he got the ball in his hands. He finished with just shy of 700 yards and caught 7 touchdowns. As a freshman, with a star running back in the same offense. That kind of production just doesn’t happen very often unless you’re a special talent. So it might be early to jump on the bandwagon for Thomas but we don’t care. We think he’s one of the best wide receivers in the class and he has the production to prove it.
Vidal Ortiz II

Choctaw | 2025
State

– Westmoore
(Ranked #34 Overall – #3 WR)
It definitely pays off to come out to the Prep Redzone camps and show out. For more than one reason. First off, you can earn offers and that’s been proven over the last year. But then, you get on the radar in front of us writers and that certainly helped Westmoore wide receiver Vidal Ortiz II Vidal Ortiz II 6'4" | 190 lbs | WR Choctaw | 2025 State OK within this ranking. Ortiz was one of our top performers at the camp we had in late April and there were a few things that really stood out to us. The first one was just the size of Ortiz. He’s 6’4 and a mismatch problem. The more time he spends in the weight room, bulking up while keeping that speed and size is going to cause big problems for defenders. Ortiz also ran a variety of routes and looked incredibly comfortable with the rotating quarterbacks and running route after route.
Brayson Carter
Brayson
Carter
5'9" | 155 lbs | ATH
Blanchard | 2025
State
OK
– Blanchard
(Ranked #42 Overall – #4 WR)
We’ll go ahead and start this breakdown off by saying we really like what Blanchard has returning on offense. They lose running back Lincoln Smith but they bring back their quarterback and so many speedy weapons at wide receiver that it might not be a problem. One of those young wide receivers that we like is Brayson Carter Brayson Carter 5'9" | 155 lbs | ATH Blanchard | 2025 State OK . He’s your prototypical slot receiver where he can do much more damage after the catch. Unlike some of the other wide receivers on this breakdown, Carter is south of 6’0 but his quickness and precise route running makes any questions about his size simply go away. We checked out Blanchard while they were at Noble’s team camp in late May. We walked away very impressed with the wide receiver group for the Lions and Carter is a big part of that.
Shepherd Sisemore
Shepherd
Sisemore
6'3" | 185 lbs | WR
Plainview | 2025
State
OK
– Plainview
(Ranked #45 Overall – #5 WR)
They just keep growing big body wide receivers down in Plainview. A few years ago, it was Blake Nowell, who signed with TCU. Then it was 2023 prospect Morgan Pearson Morgan Pearson 6'2" | 220 lbs | ATH Plainview | 2023 State OK , who’s one of the best in the state. Now they have another 6’2 wide receiver that is already showing flashes of D1 potential with Shepherd Sisemore Shepherd Sisemore 6'3" | 185 lbs | WR Plainview | 2025 State OK . The machine just keeps on turning down in southern Oklahoma as Plainview is producing top talent year after year. Honestly, #45 overall seems low for Sisemore when you compare him to those first two wide receivers. But it is still early for him and he has plenty of time to prove he truly is the next up on the field for the Indians. While defenses try to figure out how to slow down Pearson this fall, that will open things offensively for Sisemore to make plays.
