is back at Westmoore after spending his junior season at Choctaw. This season, Ortiz has the potential to be a versatile athlete that the Jaguars will be able to use on both sides of the ball. Ortiz could end up playing tight end or wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball. And then on defense, we’ve seen Ortiz lining up as an outside linebacker and using his length and overall athleticism to cause problems for opponents. Ortiz is a 2025 prospect that has camped with us a few times and impressed us every time we watched him up close. Now, he gets to close out his high school career with what he is hoping is a big 2024 season.

has made dominating our Prep Redzone camps a regular occurrence. This is the third consecutive Oklahoma camp that Ortiz has attended and walked away as one of the top standouts at his position. It’s hard not to be impressed by Ortiz every time we see him in a camp setting. The size, consistent hands and precise route running is something that always stands out to us when we watch Ortiz get after it. As we’ve mentioned a few times, the wide receiver group we had this weekend was incredibly deep and also very talented. Ortiz certainly belongs in that conversation with the top guys at the position after another stellar performance. As he goes into his junior season this fall, we anticipate Ortiz to become a very productive player in his new environment. Ortiz spent his first two years at Westmoore and has moved to Choctaw this offseason. He should give the Yellowjacket offense a boost at the wide receiver position. Choctaw has a few weapons on offense returning so Ortiz will provide depth, size and playmaking ability.

Westmoore 2025 wide receiver Vidal Ortiz II is a wide receiver prospect that we continue to be impressed with every time we see him in person. He has good size, hands and runs good routes. There’s a lot to like about his game and he impressed once again at our camp. He did the same thing back in April at our last event and we continue to be impressed with him. Ortiz is an outstanding athlete overall as he is a contributor on the basketball floor and the athleticism is apparent when you check out his vertical and ability to get off the floor. Westmoore had a rocky 2022 season but they have a young roster that grew up last fall and should bounce back in a big way. Ortiz should benefit from that this fall.

. We got chance to see Ortiz earlier this year at one of our camps and then again as a basketball player while doing some work for the Prep Hoops Circuit. There’s no doubt that Ortiz is an outstanding athlete. At the football camp in April, Ortiz was one of the best wide receivers in attendance. He ran good routes, found a way to get separation and made some outstanding catches. On the basketball floor, Ortiz was a physical forward who controlled the glass and could jump out of the gym during the tournament that we caught in person. Ortiz is definitely a wide receiver to keep an eye on moving forward. Westmoore is still scratching and clawing for a playoff spot.
