Over the weekend in Broken Arrow, the Sooner 7 Shootout took place in partnership with DR Sportz. Some of the best players in Oklahoma were on hand for the event and while Sooner 7 certainly had plenty of teams and firepower throughout the age divisions, other Oklahoma teams did well throughout the weekend as well. In this post, we take a look at the very best players from the tournament. These five players were the best of the best. Stay tuned to Prep Redzone Oklahoma throughout the rest of the week for more breakdowns on the quarterbacks along with more offensive and defensive standouts.

– 2024 Wide Receiver – Booker T Washington
(Played With Sooner 7)
Sooner7’s 15U Future team ran away with the 15U championship and it wasn’t even close throughout the weekend. A big reason why was the playmaking ability of Booker T Washington 2024 wide receiver and overall athlete Deuce Chalk Deuce Chalk 6'2" | 175 lbs | WR Owasso | 2024 State OK . This lengthy playmaker was all over the field and it seemed like every time a big play happened, Chalk was on the receiving end of it. We have him listed as a wide receiver and were thoroughly impressed with his playmaking abilities on that side of the ball. And as if that wasn’t enough, he would go to the other side of the ball and make plenty of plays on defense as well. Chalk is a 2024 prospect that we think could absolutely skyrocket over the next few months as more people see him. The first thing that stood out to us with his game, besides the playmaking ability, was his size. He’s much taller than we remember and that’s a great thing for a playmaking wide receiver.
Jamarian Ficklin

– 2025 Athlete – Muskogee
(Played With Sooner 7)
The only 2025 prospect to make this list is Muskogee standout Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK . On Friday night’s in the fall, you’ll see Ficklin lining up under center as he was Muskogee’s QB1 last season. However, this is the second 7v7 tournament this offseason that we’ve seen Ficklin playing wide receiver and defensive back and over the weekend, he had his best performance of the 7v7 season. On offense, Ficklin was one of the top playmakers at wide receiver and on defense, he was a lockdown corner that made arguably as many plays on defense as he did on offense. Ficklin is clearly going to be a weapon that the Roughers are going to be able to use in a variety of ways moving forward. It is just 7v7 and we can’t get too caught up in what we see without the pads on. But it’s hard not to get really excited about the potential that Ficklin has as an overall athlete.
Jino Boyd

– 2024 Wide Receiver – Union
(Played With 918 Elite)
The only non-Sooner7 player is Union 2024 wide receiver Jino Boyd Jino Boyd 6'0" | WR Union | 2024 State OK . The 2024 standout played over the weekend with 918 Elite, a team made up mostly of Union prospects. Boyd is already considered one of the top overall prospects in the state’s 2024 class and it was easy to see why over the weekend. He could not be stopped. Boyd did just about everything you can do on the football field during one of these 7v7 tournaments. He made short plays go long with his running after the catch. He made spectacular plays look like a normal part of his game. He would catch passes while being covered by as many as three defenders. Boyd was without a doubt one of the top playmakers in the tournament field and it simply backed up our thought process as to why we have him as the top WR in the 2024 class and a top five overall prospect in the class.
Keegan Bass

– 2023 Wide Receiver – Mustang
(Played With Sooner 7)
The recruitment is starting to pick up for Mustang 2023 wide receiver Keegan Bass Keegan Bass 5'9" | 175 lbs | WR Mustang | 2023 State OK . Over the last month, Bass has picked up several offers and this could be a huge spring and summer for him as he goes into his senior season. Over the weekend, Bass played in his first 7v7 tourney with Sooner 7 after his basketball season ended earlier this month. Bass is one of the more underrated wide receivers in Oklahoma’s 2023 class but that shouldn’t be the case moving forward. He showcased his skills throughout the weekend and was one of the top wide receivers in the tournament. He was consistently getting open, running a variety of routes and was arguably the most productive wide receiver for Sooner7’s blue squad. As a prospect, we love his versatility as an overall athlete and over the weekend, he showed that he can be one of the top wide receivers in this upcoming senior class.

– 2023 Wide Receiver – Booker T Washington
(Played With Sooner 7)
Our last standout prospect shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who has followed high school football in Oklahoma over the last year. Booker T Washington 2023 standout Micah Tease Micah Tease 6'1" | WR Booker T Washington | 2023 State OK is widely considered one of the top overall prospects in Oklahoma’s 2023 class and also nationwide. Tease played in his first 7v7 tourney over the weekend and was an immediate boost to what Sooner7’s black squad was able to do. The easy stuff was Tease simply beating his man on a go-route and Choctaw QB Steele Wasel Steele Wasel 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Choctaw | 2023 State OK throwing the deep ball to him. The Hornet standout made it look easy throughout the weekend. But Tease showcased plenty more than just running in a straight line. He made tough catches over the middle, acrobatic catches and went over and played defense as well. Most believe Tease is a DB at the next level but we’re still on the fence because he’s one of the best receivers in Oklahoma today.
