The event was filled with high level talent and competition at all positions with college scouts and coaches in attendance. Here is a breakdown of the quarterback standouts according to me. Keep an eye out for Top Performers, Positional Breakdowns, and more event coverage throughout the week from other PRZ Scouts. Here is a link to the positional MVPs as voted by PRZ scouts and coaches.
Evan Tomich Evan Tomich 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Mayfair | 2023 State CA , 2023, Mayfair
He was named the MVP for the quarterbacks and stood out as the best of the group. His delivery is so smooth and he looks like he isn’t even trying when he throws deep balls. He picked up the timing with the receivers very quickly and when I asked multiple receivers which quarterbacks impressed them, they pointed to Tomich. He had good velocity on the short throws and nice touch on the deep ones. He was one of the more athletic quarterbacks of the day in the speed drills too with a 4.52 40, a 7.44 L drill and 9 foot broad jump. Tomich has seven offers and will be a Power 5 commit.
Mayfair 2023 Quarterback Evan Tomich can ball. Calm feet, a tight throwing motion & has been deadly accurate on all three levels. @EvanTomich | @SoonsFootball pic.twitter.com/sHPeRKAZPI

Blake Miller Blake Miller 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB El Toro | 2022 CA , 2022, El Toro
He was one of the few senior quarterbacks in attendance and he had a nice day throwing the ball despite pitching in a baseball game the day before. He has a nice smooth delivery and threw one of the better balls of the day. He stands tall and impressed with me with his velocity on intermediate routes. He would be a steal for a Division 3 or NAIA team late in the recruiting process. He had a 9’8″ broad jump and a 7 second flat L drill.

Evan Pierce Evan Pierce 6'1" | 195 lbs | QB Tesoro | 2023 State CA , 2023, Tesoro
Pierce was one of those players who started a little slow but got better as he took more throws. He has a quick release and has good velocity and short and intermediate throws. He throws a nice ball and has good footwork. His speed and agility numbers weren’t the best, but he is a pocket passer and a decent amount of players performed better in the individual and 1on1 drills than they did in the early speed tests. He was another guy that receivers pointed out when I asked them which quarterbacks they liked.

Mccade Long Mccade Long 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Granite Bay | 2023 CA , 2023, Granite Bay
Long didn’t have the best arm of the crop of quarterbacks on Sunday, but he was very accurate to all levels. He was one of the taller quarterbacks at 6-foot-3 and showed his multi sport athleticism with a 4.78 shuttle. In the individual drills he was hitting receivers in stride and had good zip on the short routes. He had confidence and delivered good balls in the 1on1 portion of the day.
Great camp at Santa Margarita High School, thanks for the s/o. @mikehuntley63 @PGregorian @CoachTTMP @cameronsalerno1 @PrepRedzoneCA https://t.co/KcwCboxS1s

Justin Gil Justin Gil 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB La Habra | 2023 State CA , 2023, La Habra
Gil is another quarterback that exudes confidence and will take charge when other people are timid and shy. He developed chemistry with the receivers he had just met and took charge when discussing routes. His speed numbers weren’t outstanding but he is not slow. He had a 4.47 shuttle and his 7.63 L drill isn’t bad. What impresses me about Gil is he knows how to put the ball in a spot where only the receiver can catch it. When a lengthy defensive back or linebacker is covering his target, he puts the ball low so they can’t get to the ball without committing a penalty. He knows when to hit the back shoulder on deep balls.

Hunter Najm Hunter Najm 6'2" | 170 lbs | QB Aliso Niguel | 2024 State CA , 2024, Aliso Niguel
Najm was one of the better class of 2024 performers of the day. He holds the ball low near his stomach but he has a smooth release. His arm was better than I expected it to be in person and he had no trouble hitting receivers on deep routes in stride. His speed numbers were OK with a 5.13 40 time and 7.5 L drill. He has a live arm and had good zip on his intermediate throws and was fairly accurate. One of those sophomore guys that had the confidence and poise of a senior. He will get better with experience and could develop into a college prospect.
Great workout with @DanSelwayQB last night, always great to be out there with my guys @treykukuk @CashMoormann @dylanfingersh @ToledoQBs @ScottieGraham pic.twitter.com/rX6Pwt7HLx

Whit Kruse, 2024, Twelve Bridges
Another sophomore who showed potential to be a future college prospect. He was the tallest player at the event at 6-foot-5. He was not very fast but he knows he will get better with time in the weight room and some speed training. He has a high release and sometimes can let the ball sail a little too much and overthrow. But what impressed me about Kruse was his timing on deep routes. A lot of quarterbacks in the 1on1 portion of the day were late on their fade routes waiting for the receiver to be wide open, but Kruse timed the throws well and and hit guys right out of their break on the shorter routes. He is a work in progress and he knows that, but the tools are there for him to develop.
great day out with @WhitKruse @Passing_Academy Also great seeing @dlinevids1 out there pic.twitter.com/GsdSHD2AtP
