– The new norm around the summer months is apparently taking official visits and last week, several kids across the state took them and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down the rest of this month.
Among the top talent who took in official visits last week include:
– (RB) Dallan Hayden Dallan Hayden 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Christian Brothers | 2022 State TN (CBHS) – Notre Dame
– (OT) Fisher Anderson Fisher Anderson 6'7" | 275 lbs | OL Franklin | 2022 State TN (Franklin) – Virginia
– (WR) Isaiah Horton Isaiah Horton 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR Oakland | 2022 State TN (Oakland – Miami
– (OL) Patrick Kutas Patrick Kutas 6'5" | 285 lbs | OL Christian Brothers | 2022 State TN (CBHS) – Arkansas
– (Ath) Kenzy Paul Kenzy Paul 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB McCallie | 2022 State TN (McCallie) – Vanderbilt
– (LB) Trey McDonald Trey McDonald 6'4" | 210 lbs | LB Baylor | 2022 State TN (Baylor) – Virginia
– (WR) Kaydin Pope Kaydin Pope 6'0" | 180 lbs | WR Hardin County | 2022 State TN (Hardin Co.) – Memphis
Hayden is down to finalists Notre Dame, Arkansas, Oregon and Illinois with a possible decision coming soon. His teammate in Kutas could also be close to making his commitment. He officially visited Illinois last week and the Hogs this week with plans to see a few others in the coming weeks. McDonald has been committed to the Wahoos since March and has not wavered one bit.
– Knox. Catholic (WR) Tommy Winton Tommy Winton 5'10" | 190 lbs | WR Knoxville Catholic | 2022 State TN had himself a strong week recruiting and a busy one on the road as he made several stops within one week, trying to grow his stock even further. Besides his new offers from Charlotte and Troy, Winton also camped with Florida St, Ga Tech, Tennessee and West Virginia. Winton definitely put in the work last week, trying to garner more attention and bigger offers.
– It was a semi breakout week for Lausanne (LB) Ben Bolton Ben Bolton 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Lausanne | 2022 State TN as he picked up new offers from Austin Peay and Harvard to go along with a previous offer from Morehead State. Bolton is a big, physical and mobile linebacker that has really improved this offseason and put himself on the map as a recruiting riser. Bigger schools are sniffing around Bolton right now, so he is definitely a break out star in waiting.
– The breakout of offers is coming very soon for Beech (TE) Jackson Long Jackson Long 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Beech | 2022 State TN , especially after visiting and camping recently with Florida St. and Tulane. The Buccaneers stud receiver has the size and physical traits to be a Power Five talent but has yet to break through. That should change very soon as Long has had a strong camp season thus far with several more stops to go.

– The collection of talent for the 2023 class had a big week as several guys added their 1st official offers while hitting up camps and taking in visits.
Nobody had a bigger week than Ensworth (Ath) Jacob Page Jacob Page 6'2" | 185 lbs | WR Blackman | 2023 State TN as he picked up offers from Miss. St, South Carolina and Tennessee and officially put himself on the map as a marked man. This is a two way talent that could work himself into 4-star status somewhere down the road.
The stock of Lausanne (QB) Brock Glenn Brock Glenn 6'2" | 190 lbs | QB Lausanne | 2023 State TN continues to rise as last week he added three new offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky and Austin Peay. This is a hot name right now and Glenn should continue to see an increase with his recruitment going forward. Several Power Five, D1 schools are interested.
Henry Co. (QB) Ryan Damron Ryan Damron 6'0" | 185 lbs | QB Henry Co. | 2023 State TN added a big offer last week from MTSU and it’s an offer that can spurn into others and take his stock and recruitment to another level.
Greenbrier (DE) Nathan Robinson Nathan Robinson 6'5" | 245 lbs | DL Greenbrier | 2023 State TN is blowing up this summer and could soon see himself as a 20 plus offered guy, especially as coaching staffs outside the Southern region get a hold of his highlights. This past week, Robinson added two big offers from Kentucky and Ole Miss and is very close to adding more.
– One of the top overall prospects of the 2023 class is Independence (TE) Ty Lockwood Ty Lockwood 6'5" | 225 lbs | TE Independence | 2023 State TN and last week he took a few visits that established the fact he is a national recruit. The Eagles star offensive prospect hit the road to check out both Michigan and Ohio St. last week and by all accounts, the visits went over very well.
Lockwood has been a busy guy this summer seeing a college campus almost every other day. He is still missing a few big offers but that doesn’t matter as the Middle Tennessee product has just about everyone else in college football on his offer sheet. Look for this tall and talented tight end to make a few more stops over the coming weeks before he settles into summer high school practice and prep for the upcoming season.

– New name to know on the recruiting scene is Lausanne (TN) athlete Tyler Wilson Tyler Wilson 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Lausanne | 2024 State TN . The 6’0 190 pound two way talent officially jumped into the mix last week when he camped and then received his 1st official offer from the Memphis Tigers. Wilson already sports college size along with a frame that can add more weight. He is a talented guy that right now could have a future on the next level as a running back or over on defense at linebacker. Time will tell but one thing is for sure, Wilson is a legit D1 college prospect.
– While Wilson above might have gotten top billing, the breakout prospect of the week has to be Siegel (TN) athlete Jaylen Thompson Jaylen Thompson 6'2" | 175 lbs | DB Riverdale | 2024 State TN . The Murfreesboro native has seen his recruitment officially kick off as last week he added his 1st two college offers from Georgia and Toledo. The 6’2 175 safety, hybrid linebacker is all sorts of long along with a fluid lower body, so the upside is quite high with Thompson.
Thompson works and trains in the offseason with National Playmakers, so it’s no surprise to see college coaches already on this guy. The Stars rising sophomore has all the makings to be considered one of the top overall prospects for his in-state 2024 class but has a ways to go before that status can officially be attached to his name.
– Another Middle Tennessee product had a breakout week on the recruiting trail himself. Lipscomb Acad. (LB) Edwin Spillman Edwin Spillman 6'3" | 215 lbs | LB Lipscomb Academy | 2024 State TN can be marked as a Power Five guy as last he added offers from both Boston College and Georgia. During camp season so far, Spillman has been a hot name that should continue to see an uptick with his recruitment over the coming months.
