[player_tooltip player_id="98175" first="Casmen" last="Hill"] - Running Back - Chandler
Our first newcomer is Chandler running back [player_tooltip player_id="98175" first="Casmen" last="Hill"]. The Chandler Lions will be a team on the rise over the next few seasons with a wealth of young talent. Headlining that 2023 class is without a doubt their star running back [player_tooltip player_id="98175" first="Casmen" last="Hill"]. The Chandler sophomore ran for well over 2,000 yards this season and was close to gaining 1,000 yards as a freshman. Hill will certainly have a shot at the state’s all time rushing record when it’s all said and done. However, in addition to putting up big numbers, Hill has the tools to become one of the better running backs in a 2023 class that is loaded with talent at that position. Hill is a touchdown machine and is a very strong runner that has some deceptively quick moves. If you haven’t heard of Hill before reading this, get ready, because he’ll be a big name over the next two seasons.
[player_tooltip player_id="98173" first="Demitrius" last="Prudom"] - Tight End - Booker T Washington
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Booker T Washington continues to have a wealth of talent in every class. The 2023 class for the Hornets appears to be a very special one on both sides of the ball. However, one of the better prospects in that class is tight end [player_tooltip player_id="98173" first="Demitrius" last="Prudom"]. You can also make the argument that he could end up being a defensive standout as a linebacker or a defensive end. But at this point, we like what we’ve seen from Prudom on the offensive side of the ball as the safety blanket for this Hornet passing attack. Booker T Washington had one of the best receiver groups in Oklahoma last year and Prudom was a valuable part of that. He got experience in 2019 as a freshman and only added to that in 2020 when the Hornets had to deal with injuries to key players in other spots. The ceiling is very high for this Hornet standout.
[player_tooltip player_id="91881" first="Dylan" last="Hasz"] - Defensive Back - Bixby
Joining his twin brother [player_tooltip player_id="55156" first="Luke" last="Hasz"] in the latest ranking is Bixby defensive back [player_tooltip player_id="91881" first="Dylan" last="Hasz"]. While Dylan doesn’t have the size that Luke has, he has all the playmaking ability. Just like Luke was a breakout star for the Spartans on offense during 2020, the same can be said for Dylan on the defensive side of the ball. Dylan would lead the Spartans in interceptions as they would have another perfect season that ended in a state championship. Dylan is a player that is without a doubt on the rise in this 2023 class. He brings a lot of versatility to the field for the Spartans and can be moved around to a variety of spots. We’re excited to see how he grows this offseason and see how Bixby utilizes him next year with the Spartan secondary losing a couple pieces to graduation.
[player_tooltip player_id="38811" first="Kenny" last="Wermy"] - Offensive/Defensive Lineman - Cache
Another newcomer along the line of scrimmage is Cache lineman [player_tooltip player_id="38811" first="Kenny" last="Wermy"]. Right now, we have Wermy ranked as an offensive lineman. But we’ll be honest, if he was just playing defense it would be hard to keep him off the Top 50 right now. Wermy doesn’t have some of the size that the other linemen have in this class but it really doesn’t show on tape. While he might be an inch or two shorter and doesn’t have the weight that the others have, he has all the skills to compete with the best of the best in this class. Wermy is an absolute wrecking ball on the defensive side of the ball and he uses that physicality and nasty edge when he goes over to offense and will just put defender after defender on their backs. Wermy will certainly be a name to follow on how he grows and if he becomes more suited to one side of the line of scrimmage over the other.
[player_tooltip player_id="98172" first="Luke" last="Adcock"] - Quarterback - Eufaula
Our final newcomer is Eufaula quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="98172" first="Luke" last="Adcock"]. The young Eufaula standout has the chance to be a fast riser up these rankings over the next few seasons. Based on his performance during his sophomore season, Adcock without a doubt is a top five quarterback in this 2023 class and will be pushing the top guys at that position. Adcock is a name that not near enough people are talking about right now but it won’t take long for them to notice. Adcock has legitimate size at 6’3 and over 200 pounds. He has a very strong arm to go along with fantastic pocket presence. He’s also very advanced for his age as he will work through his reads down field. Adcock was in his first season with Eufaula in 2020 after transferring from Stigler and he didn’t look like a QB on a new team.
